Chapter AFTER I AMAZED 156
Chapter 156
Itis hand reached for my cheek, and he bent down, intent on kissing me.
But I raised my hand, stopping him just inches from my lips.
"Leo..." I whispered, unsure of what was happening between us.
His expression flickered, a flash of surprise before his usual confident demeanor returned,
He straightened up, but the heat in his eyes hadn't faded,
then, my phone buzzed, cutting through the thick tension between us.
1 glanced at it-Kolin
Leo's eyes narrowed as he caught sight of the name on the screen,
His jaw clenched, the shift in his mood palpable.
He turned away, walking to the window and pushing it open.
A gust of night air entered the room as he pulled out a cigarette, lighting it with a flick of his wrist.
He smoked in silence, his back to me, the once warm atmosphere now cold, distant,
Yet I knew he was listening, ears pricked, waiting to hear what I'd say,
I hesitated for a moment, then pressed 'answer. "Hello, Rolin."
Rolin's voice came through the speaker, smooth and calm,
"Elizabeth, I heard about the attack. I managed to acquire a rare medicine from the witches. It's a salve-powerful, and it can heal any wound inflicted, no matter how severe, I'll have someone deliver it to you tomorrow." I blinked, taken aback by the offer,
"Rolin, that's... that's too valuable. I'm not even injured. Leo's the one hurt. You're out investigating hunters, you should keep the potion for yourself

Kolin was silent for a beat, and when he spoke again, his voice was firm,
"The potion is for you. It's yours to decide how to use, no matter who it's for."
1 frowned, surprised by Rolin's sudden generosity,
He and Leo had never been on good terms, and yet here he was, offering something precious enough to save a life. Why?
Before I could respond, Leo strode over and snatched the phone from my hand, his expression cool but his eyes blazing with restrained anger.
"We don't need your potion," he said flatly. "Sherry and I are fine. In fact, we're about to... get busy in making out. Don't call again unless it's important."
I gasped, reaching for the phone, but Rolín laughed on the other end of the line, a knowing chuckle that only irritated Leo further.
"Rolin," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "do you think I'm so kind as to help a love rival? I'm hoping Elizabeth will remember my goodness and give me more chances. It has nothing to do with you."

The air crackled with tension as I watched Leo's expression darken. His jaw tightened, and the conversation felt like a powder keg ready to explode.
Without another word, Leo hung up the phone, the finality of the action echoing in the quiet room.
I felt pang of confusion, and when I reached for my phone, Leo didn't move, his grip on it fierce, almost like he wanted to crush it.
After what felt like an eternity, his voice emerged, dull and heavy,

Chapter 156
"So you want to give up on me and choose him?"
I couldn't help but laugh bitterly, tears threatening to spill.
"It's not time for you two to choose. Give me back my phone, and don't ever take my personal belongings without my permission again?
Reluctantly, he released the phone, and I quickly dialed Rolin back to express my gratitude,
I could feel Leo's eyes on me the entire time, his presence a looming shadow.
After the call, Leo sighed deeply, his posture shifting to one of vulnerability,
"You know," he started slowly, "I'm terrified that you'll leave me. Sometimes, I think about how you knew Rolin first. If he hadn't shown up... maybe you would be with him instead of me."
words struck a chord deep within me.
I recalled the moments I'd shared with Leo, the laughter, the whispers under the stars.
But I also remembered the pang of longing I'd felt when I saw them together, the unshakeable feeling of being on the outside looking in
"No one can know what it is like to be on the road that one has not traveled."
I said with some emotion, "I won't forget the past three years of my married life, I don't have the means to walk out of it that quickly, but I won't stay where I am and wait for you because I can't let go of the past." The conversation with Leo brought back memories of disappointment and sadness over and over again in my marriage.
A shadow of understanding crossed his face.
"I never thought I'd feel the same emotions as you," he murmured, almost to himself. "I guess we've both come full circle now."
The next day, we boarded a flight back to the Pack, the weight of unspoken words hanging between us.
I could sense a change in Leo; it felt like Rolin's presence had ignited a fire beneath him, making him cling to me even more.
After a long day of events, I stepped into the fitting room to change.
When I exited, I found Leo waiting for me, impeccably dressed, the very image of an elite aristocrat.
