After I Amazed the World the Cold Alpha Regretted

Chapter AFTER I AMAZED 99

Chapter 99

Slowly, I released her, letting her fall back to the ground, her tears streaming down her face.

She scrambled backward, her eyes never leaving mine, still filled with fear.

"I won't be like you, Sorcia," I said quietly, my voice carrying across the field. "But you will remember this."

And with that, I turned away from her, walking off the field as the crowd erupted into cheers.

The sound was deafening, a wave of approval and admiration that washed over me.

had seen what I had done, understood the significance of my victory.

A she wolf, who seems to be nothing but good looking, defeats one of the most elite werewolves in legend.

It was a victory that would echo through the ranks, giving hope to those who had been overlooked, underestimated, or bullied.

As I looked up from the field, I spotted Leo in the crowd, and to my surprise, his usual serious expression was gone, replaced by a big, joyful smile.

His eyes were bright with pride, and I could tell he was genuinely happy for me.

He raised his hand in a cheer, blending in with the excited crowd, but the way he looked at me felt personal, like he was saying, "You did it."

In that moment, all his usual coolness was replaced by warmth and happiness.

It feels like he no longer sees me as a mediocre wife, but as someone who has actually accomplished something important.

His joy made my victory feel even more special.

As I stepped off the field, my heart still pounding from the adrenaline of the fight, I noticed my phone vibrating in my pocket. The screen lit up with Rolin's name, and a sense of unease settled in my chest.

Why was he calling now, and with such urgency?

I answered the call, my voice still a little breathless from the battle. "Rolin?"

"I need to see you. Now," Rolin's voice was tense, almost frantic. The urgency in his tone sent a chill down my spine.

"What's going on?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm. "Is everything okay?"

"I have news.... about your mother," he said, the words coming out in a rush.

His statement hit me like a lightning bolt.

For a moment, the world around me seemed to stop, the sounds of the cheering crowd fading into the background.

My mother? After all these years?

It felt like an eternity before I could form a coherent response.

My heart pounded in my chest, and the world seemed to blur around me.

"What did you say? Say it again!"

My voice trembled, disbelief clinging to every word.

It was so unexpected, so out of the blue, that I could hardly believe my ears.

I half expected it to be some kind of cruel joke, or maybe just a figment of my imagination, a desperate hope turned into a hallucination.

Rolin's voice was steady on the other end of the line.

"I've recently come across some information about the hunters from back in the day," he explained, his tone urgent yet cautious,

"It's something you need to hear in person. Where are you? Let's meet and talk."

The words he said next hit me like a lightning bolt.

My thoughts raced back to what Orlando had told me that my mother had died in a hunter's hunt,

But if that was true, then what did Rolin mean?

The confusion and the sliver of hope tangled inside me, making it hard to think straight.

"I'm at the academy," I managed to say, barely holding back the tremor in my voice.

be there as soon as I can," Rolin assured me.

As I ended the call, I realized that my vision was already blurring with tears, but these were tears of excitement, of hope.

The possibility, however slim, that my mother might still be alive was overwhelming.

It was something I hadn't dared to believe in years.

The next thing I knew, my phone buzzed again.

It was Leo, checking in to find out where I was.

I forced myself to sound calm as I spoke to him, stonewalling his inquiries.

"I have something I need to take care of tonight," I told him, my voice as even as I could manage.

"I won't be able to come home with you. You should go ahead."

Leo hesitated, his tone shifting to something suspicious.

He was the kind of man prone to jealousy, and I knew that if I told him I was meeting Rolin, it would only lead to an argument.

But tonight was too important. I couldn't let anything distract me.

"Are you sure everything's alright?" he asked, concern lacing his words.
