Chapter Rejected Luna 30

The impact sent me stumbling, and when I looked up, my heart skipped a beat. It was Lena.
Her eyes blazed with fury as she recognized me. "You!" she spat, her voice sharp enough to cut through the noise of the lobby. "What are you doing here?"
I feigned innocence, brushing imaginary dust off my clothes.
"What's the rush, Lena? Shouldn't you be upstairs checking on Silas? He might need you."
Her face darkened, and for a moment, I thought she was going to hit me right there in the middle of the lobby.
She took a threatening step toward me, her hand twitching at her side. "You think this is funny? You think you can play these games and get away with it?"
Filted my head, smirking. "Are you sure you want to waste your time on me? Silas is still upstairs, waiting for you."
Lena glared at me, her nostrils flaring. "You're lucky I have more important things to deal with," she snapped before storming off toward the elevator.
I watched her go, satisfaction bubbling in my chest. I knew what she'd find upstairs, and I knew it would push her over the edge.
But just to ensure the situation escalated, I pulled out my phone and called Silas's beta.
"Hello?" he answered, his voice cautious.
"It's me," I said, feigning panic. "You need to come to the hotel right now! Lena's gone crazy, and I think she's going to hurt Silas!" "What? Where are you?"
I rattled off the address, adding a few exaggerated details for effect. "Please hurry! I don't think Silas can defend himself in this state." The beta assured me he'd be there soon, and I hung up, feeling a sense of triumph.
