Chapter 1330
If all three of them teamed up, they should have had no trouble handling one woman, right? But they quickly found out how wrong they were.
Nina twisted the leader's arm into a lock, stepping around him and landing a hard kick to his lower back.
He gasped in pain, unable to straighten up as she kept a firm grip on him. He tried to threaten her, "Let me go, or I'll pump you full of our strongest stuff. You'll be begging like a dog." Even in their organization, that drug was rarely used. But Nina paid no mind to his threats. Even if she let them go and tried to play nice, it was obvious they wouldn't suddenly be friends.
These guys were ruthless and had come with a mission to capture her for their twisted experiments. Her only option was to fight with everything she had. Giving in would only lead to something worse than death. She released him with a twist and kicked him hard, sending him stumbling forward into the second guy, who was too focused on Nina to react. His punch, meant for her, landed squarely on his boss's face. "You idiot!" the leader barked, seething with anger.
In a critical moment, the guy actually hit him. There was nothing worse than being stuck with a fool for a teammate.
It made him think, "better to face a smart enemy than have a dumb friend." He was bitterly regretting bringing these four along.
With better backup, he would have already captured Nina by now, instead of wasting all this time and taking a punch to the face.
"S-sorry, boss! I didn't even realize it was you. Something just flew at me, and I instinctively swung," the second guy stammered, trying to explain.
The organization had a strict hierarchy. Even though he was just a squad leader, this guy held their lives in his hands. To put it bluntly, with a single word, he could make sure they never saw the light of day again.
"Useless," he spat out angrily, but
now wasn't the time to focus on that. He had just suffered a big loss and been humiliated in front of his men. He was determined to get back at Nina and make her pay, and then some. He would make sure she suffered.
The two men attacked Nina from either side, while the third circled behind, lifting a brick, ready to ambush her. Just as he was about to bring it down, Nina's leg shot back, her heel landing squarely between his legs, his weakest spot.
A sharp crack sounded, and the brick slipped from his grasp, landing on his foot He let out a scream that was louder and more pitiful than anyone else's. The squad leader and the second man were quickly taken down, too.
Moments ago, they had been full of bravado. Now, they lay on the ground, utterly defeated, groaning in pain.
Nina didn't let her guard down, though. She landed a few more strikes on two of the less-injured men to ensure they wouldn't be getting up anytime soon.
Only then did she dust her hands off with a sense of satisfaction.
