Chapter 1160
"Theo, what are you doing here?" Wesley asked.
"I was worried about you, so I came to check on you," Theodore said. "You two are..."
Wasn't that Yerick? Why was he being so intimate with his dad?
"Theo, this is Yerick Zeller," Wesley explained.
"I know him. He's Rose's friend."
"Is that so? You're Rose's friend?" Wesley was surprised to hear that. "I didn't even know that."
"I didn't know that at the start, either. I only knew about it when I came here. What a fate we share!" Yerick said.
"Dad, how did you two meet?" Theodore asked, his brows still furrowed.
"At the seaside. I stepped out of the car for some fresh air. This child thought I was going to take my life, so he tried to counsel me. That's how we got to know each other."
Theodore realized something. "Dad, were you referring to that day when..."
"Alright," Wesley said, cutting him off. "It was nothing. I just stepped out for some fresh air at that time, so you don't need to worry. Whatever it was, I got to know Yerry and that's great."
Wesley's expression made it seem as though he thought of Yerick as his child.
Theodore had a niggling feeling that there was something wrong with Yerick, but he had no proof to back his hunch up.
"Dad, I'll head out first. We'll be sending Grandma off very soon," he finally said.
Wesley nodded. "Yes, I'll be heading out soon."
After the memorial service, Rebecca's ashes were officially buried.
The mood was solemn, and many people stood before the tombstone. The Spencers stood right in front, nearest to the tombstone. Everyone was wearing black, and the air quiet and somber.
Rosalie carried Steve in her arms, tears streaming down her face. She bit her lips hard, trying not to cry out loud.
Aurora and Sebastian were there
too, but they were standing all the way at the back since they weren't family members. Aurora and Angie
were whispering to eagie
other,
swneve
leaning even further away from the rest.
Theodore turned around and saw Rosalie almost losing her balance. Concerned, he offered, "Let me carry the baby."
Rosalie, on the verge of breaking down, immediately handed the baby to Theodore. "I need the washroom. I'll be back very soon."
She covered her mouth and left sobbing. Suddenly, she overheard a conversation that drifted into her ears.
"Now that the old woman has been buried, this is finally over!" Angie said.
"Yeah," Aurora said. "Only now am k finally relieved. No one will be able to expose us. Theo's so upset right now have to comfort him after the burial."
Suddenly, they noticed someone standing not far from them. Rosalie had appeared at some point in time.
Their guilty conscience pricked at them.
Aurora's face immediately changed, and she said solemnly, "My condolences to you, Rose."
"What did you two say just now?" Rosalie demanded, her brows furrowed.
"No...nothing," Aurora stuttered. "I was just chatting with Angie."
With that, she dragged Angie toward the tombstone.
"Stand right there!" Rosalie yelled, chasing after them.
However, Aurora and Angie ran off very quickly. Very soon, they arrived at Theodore's side.
Thinking Rosalie would surely not dare to kick up a fuss at such a somber occasion, the two of them
stood erect behind
Contrary to their expectations, Rosalie charged toward them and grabbed Aurora's arm. "What did you mean just now?! Why will no one expose you because Grandma is buried?"
