Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1126

A major incident shook the medical research facility. Tina and Kylie ended up in an old-fashioned pit latrine-the kind with just a couple of planks over a pit full of waste. Tragically, Tina didn't make it and drowned, but Kylie managed to crawl out, barely clinging to life. It took two whole days to bring her back from the brink. "I was right there when it happened. It was absolutely horrifying... Kylie was covered head to toe. I can't even talk about it without feeling sick," said one witness.

"I was there too... I'll never be able to look at Kylie the same way again," another confessed.

"Hey, weren't you the one with a crush on Kylie? Why not visit her? She's in the hospital and could really use some comfort right now," someone suggested.

"I want to, but I can't get the image out of my head. Every time I think of her, all I see is that mess she was in," he replied, clearly conflicted.

The facility was buzzing with chatter about Kylie. After Tina's body was cremated, her remains were sent back to her homeland. Despite the suspicious nature of the incident, thorough investigations uncovered nothing, and it was ruled as an unfortunate accident. Flora was taken aback when she heard the news. "Flora, you didn't have anything to do with this, did you?" Selene asked, staring at her intently in the lab's cozy cafeteria.

"Wasn't me," Flora replied casually, sipping milk tea through a straw.

"Then maybe it was your guy," Selene mused. Flora was known for handling things head-on, but Connor, he might have been involved. He was the type to quietly pass her the knife if she needed someone taken care of. Yet, even he wouldn't stoop to something so gross. Selene suddenly felt overwhelmed. "Let's hurry up and finish eating; we've got training," Flora nudged her.

Selene stopped talking and dug into

three big bowls of food. She was a bit annoyed earlier, though she couldn't say why, and didn't want to eat with Elora. But the meals at Kruiz Laboratory were just too good to resist. After trying them once, she was hooked. On her way out, she snagged a milk tea to go. She didn't have much of a sweet tooth before, but hanging out with Flora had changed that.

"Done eating?" Kruiz walked in with a warm smile, showing off a perfect grin. "Hey, Kruiz," Selene greeted him with respect, a serious look on her face.

"Great, great," Kruiz replied, clearly pleased. He liked Selene-she was Flora's friend and talented in her own@ight. "Off to training? Feel free to drop by the lab anytime,"

Then he turned his attention to Flora, eyes warm and inviting: "So, Flora, how was today's meal? Did it hit the spot?"

"It was great," Flora responded confidently. Besides Connor, her dad, and the Golden Hotel, Kruiz's meals were top-notch. Far better than the big cafeteria's fare.

Kruiz beamed at the praise. As long

as Flora was happy, he was satisfied. The cafeteria's menu was always tailored to her tastes! He'd been worried lately since she hadn't been coming by as often; he thought maybe she'd gone off their food.

"Are you full? We whipped up a strawberry mousse cake in the small kitchen, want to give it a try?" Kruiz asked, as if enticing a child.
