Four Mates And A She Wolf

Chapter 10 - Alone for the first time

As the last of the dinner plates were cleared away and dessert was served, Avery's family sensed the unspoken tension in the air. With a knowing glance exchanged between her parents and a subtle nod, they understood it was time to give Avery and her mates some much-needed privacy.

"Alright, everyone," Avery's dad said, rising from his seat with a gentle smile. "Why don't we give Avery and her mates some time alone? We can go for a walk and let them have the house to themselves."

Avery's mom and sister nodded in agreement, understanding the importance of this moment for Avery. "Sounds like a plan," her mom said as she rose from her seat too. "We'll be back in a little while."

With a chorus of goodbyes and well wishes, Avery's family made their way to the door, leaving her and her mates alone in the warm glow of the dining room. As the sound of their footsteps faded into the distance, Avery felt a sense of relief wash over her, grateful for the opportunity to have some private time with her mates.

With a nervous smile, Avery turned to face Shane, Sean, Cruz, and Roger, her heart pounding in her chest as she took in their expectant expressions. "Well, I guess it's just us now," she said softly, her voice tinged with excitement. Shane nodded, a small smile playing on his lips as he reached out to take Avery's hand in his. "It's going to be the first time that us just the five of us," he said. "I'm looking forward to it."

Avery felt a surge of gratitude wash over her at Shane's words, touched by his thoughtfulness and support. With a silent nod, she turned to face Sean, who was watching her with a mixture of curiosity and anticipation.

Sean smiled at her, his eyes shining with warmth. "I'm glad we have this time together," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've missed you, Avery. Can't stop thinking about our kiss."

Avery's heart swelled with affection at Sean's words, grateful for the bond they shared. With a warm smile, she turned to face Cruz, who was watching her with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine. Cruz's gaze softened as he met her eyes, a silent acknowledgment passing between them. "I'm here for you, Avery," he said. "No matter what."

Avery felt her cheeks flush with color at Cruz's words, overwhelmed by the depth of emotion in his voice. With a silent nod, she turned to face Roger, who was watching her with a mixture of longing and regret. Roger reached out to take her hand in his, his touch sending a jolt of electricity coursing through her veins. "I'm sorry I'm late," he said earnestly. "I didn't want to miss this."

Avery squeezed Roger's hand gently, her heart swelling with forgiveness. "It's okay, Roger," she said softly. "I'm just glad you're here now."

With her mates by her side, Avery felt a sense of peace settle over her, grateful for the love and support they offered her. With a smile, she led them out of the dining room and into the cozy living room, where they settled onto the plush sofa in a circle, their knees touching as they leaned in close to one another.

For a moment, they sat in comfortable silence, each lost in their own thoughts and emotions. But as the minutes passed, the tension that had lingered between them began to fade away, replaced by a sense of warmth and intimacy that enveloped them like a comforting blanket.

With a sense of determination, Avery spoke up, breaking the silence that had settled over them. "I just want to say thank you," she began. "Thank you for being here tonight, for supporting me and each other through everything we've been through."

Her mates nodded in agreement, their expressions filled with love and gratitude. "We're here for you, Avery," Shane said. "No matter what happens, you can always count on us."

Avery felt tears prickle at the corners of her eyes, overwhelmed by the depth of emotion in Shane's words. With a grateful smile, she turned to face Sean, who was watching her with a mixture of tenderness and affection.

"I'm grateful for each and every one of you," Sean said softly. "You've brought so much light into my life, and I can't imagine where I'd be without you."

Avery's heart swelled with affection at Sean's words, touched by the depth of his love. With a soft sigh, she turned to face Cruz, who was watching her with an intensity that took her breath away.

"I've never felt more alive than when I'm with you," Cruz said earnestly. "You've opened my heart in ways I never thought possible, and I'm grateful for every moment we share together."

Avery felt her cheeks flush with color at Cruz's words, overwhelmed by the depth of his love. With a trembling hand, she reached out to take his, their fingers intertwining in a silent promise of love and devotion.

Finally, Avery turned to face Roger, who was watching her with a mixture of longing and regret. "I know things haven't always been easy between us," Roger began. "But I want you to know that I'm committed to making things right, to being the partner you deserve."

Avery felt her heart soften at Roger's words, touched by his sincerity and vulnerability. With a gentle smile, she reached out to cup his cheek, her touch sending a surge of warmth through him.

"We'll figure things out together, Roger," Avery said softly. "As long as we have each other, we can overcome anything."

In that moment, surrounded by the people she loved most in the world, she knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, united by the bonds of love and friendship.
