From Sneers to Cheers: Anthea’s Ascent ( Anthea )

Chapter 446

Sherman's lips curved into a faint smile as he began to respond: "Haven't been yet."

The truth was, Anthea really did care about Sherman. It was because Sherman's condition was just too bizarre. She was curious about what strange illness Sherman had contracted. After all, what illness was there that she couldn't diagnose? Anthea: "Let me know when you go."

Sherman: "Heading there in a bit."

Anthea: "You should get a full-body MRI to make sure everything's checked out."

"Will do."

After replying to Anthea's message, Sherman stubbed out his cigarette and headed towards the door, immediately feeling as if the air itself had sweetened.

His secretary stood up quickly as he came out, "Mr. Christensen."

Sherman nodded slightly, "Tell Claud I'm heading to the hospital."

To the hospital?

The secretary was shocked! Having worked by Sherman's side for over a decade, he had never once seen Sherman go to the hospital. Sherman was particularly sensitive to the smell of hospitals; he wouldn't even go for a common cold or fever. And yet, today, he was voluntarily going...

What was going on? Did he have some serious illness?

The secretary, in his surprise, informed the driver, Claud.

By the time Sherman reached the building's ground floor, Claud had already prepared the car.

Like the secretary, Claud was equally surprised.

When the hospital director learned Sherman was coming, he personally waited at the hospital entrance early on to lead him through the VIP entrance.

"Mr. Christensen, right this way, please."

Sherman gave a slight nod.

As they walked, the deputy director asked, "May I know what seems to be the issue?"

Sherman, with all seriousness, described his symptoms.

The deputy director was internally panicking. Heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and an uncontrollable feeling when seeing someone... wasn't that love?

Was this gentleman just here for a laugh?

But seeing how serious Sherman was, it didn't seem like he was joking.

Then, Sherman added, "Let's do a full-body MRI."

A full-body MRI?

The deputy director, respecting Sherman's request, led him to the examination room.

After the examination, the deputy director approached Sherman with the report, smiling, "Mr. Christensen, congratulations, all your indicators are normal. There's absolutely no issue." "Normal?" Sherman frowned slightly, taking the report, "Are you sure?"

The deputy director nodded, "Yes, I'm quite sure."

"Could there be any hidden issues not detected?" Sherman asked.

The deputy director reassured, Christensen, rest assured, our

chance of an error."

"Then why do I still feel unwell?" Sherman inquired.

The deputy director carefully chose his words before asking, "The person that causes your heart

race and your breath to quicken, is it a young woman?"

"Yes." Sherman nodded.

The deputy director was stunned!

Was Mr. Christensen, a man at the pinnacle of society, really unaware of what these feelings meant?

Whichever lady had the fortune to cause such concern in Mr. Christensen was certainly lucky.

The deputy director finally said, "This isn't an illness."

"Then what is it?" Sherman frowned.

The deputy director looked up at

trying to phrase it as

as possible: "It sounds like...

Fallen for her?

Sherman paused.

The internet said the same thing.

And now the deputy director too.

Could it be... he had really fallen for Anthea?

"Does liking someone cause shortness of breath and a fast heartbeat?" After a long pause, Sherman finally spoke.

The deputy director adjusted his glasses, "Occasionally, you might even dream about her."

Sherman paused again.

Yes, the deputy director was right.

Lately, Anthea indeed seemed to frequent his dreams more than usual.

All the way back from the hospital, one phrase kept replaying in Sherman's mind: "You've fallen for her."

Sherman sat in his executive chair, lost in a haze of smoke, quickly going through an entire pack of cigarettes.

Just then, the familiar ping of a message notification filled the air.

Was it Anthea?

Sherman hurriedly picked up his phone, unlocking it.
