Love Comes To Me

Chapter 1462: Villainy

Alfredo thought carefully and then shook his head, "No. The paperwork to apply for the loan was all done according to process, there's no way anything could have gone wrong." "Then what's going on?" Paulina looked puzzled.

Marcos was silent for a moment, then opened his lips, "Alfredo, make an appointment with Mr. Rodas, I'll talk to him in person."

"Okay." Alfredo led the way out.

"Marcos, did you come up with anything?" Paulina asked suspiciously.

He looked like he knew something by the look on his face.

"There's nothing wrong with the process, it's what someone is making of it." said Marcos.

And he had an idea who it was.

Paulina froze, "Could it be the Rawlins and their ...?"

Marcos nodded, "No one but them."

He then continued, "I'm going out for the afternoon, so go home and get some rest."

This time Paulina didn't refuse, "Okay, but remember to eat dinner if you're working late." Marcos' lips curved as he agreed, "I know."

After accompanying Marcos to lunch, Paulina went straight home.

At three o'clock in the afternoon, Marcos arrived on time at a golf course.

With the staff in tow, Marcos met Mr. Rodas from the bank and Chris from .......

When he saw Chris, his dark eyes darted around in surprise.

He hadn't expected Mr. Rodas to ask to meet with him and Chris.

"Mr. Marcos, you're here." Sister Rhodes smiled and motioned for him to come closer.

"Prince, why don't we go back and make another appointment another time?". Alfredo could see that Mr. Rhodes was just being sincere, there was nothing to talk about with someone who wasn't sincere at all. "Okay." Marcos walked over to him.

Cris stared at him, a smile piled on his face, "What a coincidence, Mr. Marcos."

Marcos raised an eyebrow and said meaningfully, "Quite a coincidence, yes."

He shot a weak glance at Mr. Rhodes, who was clearly uncomfortable, and explained, "Chris was here when I arrived, so I had a chat.

What kind of coincidence is that?

Alfredo couldn't help but sigh in disbelief.

"Is that so?" Marcos chuckled softly, "It's quite a coincidence, no doubt."

All three men had smiles on their faces, looking harmonious, but in reality there were many things going through their minds.

Marcos sat down and opened the door, "Mr. Chris and Mr. Rodas also have something to talk about?"

Chris looked at Sr. Rhodes and smiled back, "Yes. Haven't we had a lot of expansion projects in the last few days? We need a lot of money. I ran into Sr. Rhodes and we got to talking." Chris looked at Marcos with a provocative look as he read between the lines cockily and smugly.

Alfredo, who was standing behind Marcos, clenched his fists angrily.

The ambition of a villain!

What's all this about new expansions?

It was all to steal business from the Leoz Group!

Marcos' face didn't flinch, but his tone cooled: "Congratulations, then."

"Speaking of which, I have to thank Mr. Marcos for that. If I hadn't returned the Leoz Group for this one, those clients wouldn't have considered my company."

Chris had a look of fake gratitude that made Alfredo want to spit in his filthy mouth.

Suddenly, Marcos smiled and blurted out, "Don't thank me. They're just small clients. If you want to work with them, just tell me."

At these words, Cris' face turned ugly.

Marcos ignored him and turned to Mr. Rodas: "The loan process is complete, but why is it taking Mr. Rodas so long to approve it? Don't you trust me?"

"Of course not." Mr. Rhodes was quick to reply, "It's just that I'm busy and haven't had time to sign."

"Oh?" Marcos raised an eyebrow, "Besides, too busy playing golf."

Mr. Rhodes blushed for a moment, but quickly recovered, still full of smiles, "Mr. Marcos loves jokes. Since he's here, let's play a few strokes and not rush into business."

Marcos knew very well that Mr. Rodas was just stalling and probably had no intention of accepting the loan from the Leoz Group.

But, despite this, he could not just up and leave.

He needed the loan, otherwise the company's funds might not go through.

So he accepted.

After playing all afternoon, Mr. Rodas was completely like a million dollars, and he didn't dare offend either Marcos or Chris.

So the attitude towards the loan remained ambiguous.

After wasting the afternoon without working things out, Marcos returned to the office with a somber look on his face.

He knew in his gut that as long as Chris and Rawlins were in the middle of this, there would be no more loans.

Without the loan, he had to find another way.

In the evening, Mark came home and Paulina asked him about the loan.

"Is it a deal?" asked Paulina as she took off his suit jacket and spoke.

Marcos was silent for a few seconds before replying, "No, it didn't work out."

"How did that happen?" Paulina was a little surprised.

It was surprising that even he hadn't negotiated in person.

"Don't worry, I'll handle this." Marcos gave her a reassuring smile.

But Paulina was still worried, "If the loan doesn't come down and the company's cash flow is in trouble, some projects will have to be put on hold, but then how are the partner companies going to agree?" "Paulina, I will take care of all these things, you don't have to worry."

Marcos took her by the shoulders and looked her in the eyes worried, "You have to trust me."

"Of course I trust you. It's just that..." Paulina sighed, "The Rawlins and the others are way out of line."

Mark laughed, "Business is supposed to be about cheating, their methods are a little dirty, but there would be others without them. That's what he told me."

Paulina finally broke into a smile, "I was supposed to comfort you, now it's the other way around."

Marcos took her in his arms and said softly, "This time has been challenging for me, but it has also had its benefits. The shareholders haven't trusted me too much after my memory loss, and as long as this is handled properly, they won't have any more problems with it."

"Well, I trust you." Paulina wrapped her arms around his waist.

...

The next day, Paulina and Marcos finished breakfast and went to work together at the Leoz Group.

They had just entered the office when Alfredo rushed in after them.

"Prince, Blythe is here."

At the sound of Blythe's name, Paulina's heart stuttered inexplicably and she looked at Marcos.

Marcos pondered for a moment before speaking slowly, "Tell her to wait for me in the conference room."

"Are you sure you want to see her, Prince?" asked Alfredo.

Marcos nodded, "Yes."

"Good."

Alfredo replied and then turned to leave.
