Love Comes To Me

Chapter 1502: A taste of the pain of losing the love of your life

In the evening, Marcos called Alvaro into the studio and told him what had happened this afternoon.

"Your sister-in-law was followed this afternoon."

"What?" Alvaro's eyes widened, "Are you sure, brother? It can't just be a false alarm."

"Paulina was trying to shake them off, but they were following her so closely she couldn't shake them off. If that's not harassment, then what is?"

"Now that would be harassment." Alvaro frowned, "But who exactly?"

"I've asked Alfredo to look into it, we'll know soon enough."

Marcos sat back, his dark eyes slowly narrowed with a hint of sternness. "It's hard not to put two and two together when the perfume is still fresh and now Paulina is being stalked." "You suspect Blythe?" asked Alvaro.

Marcos sulked and didn't answer.

Alvaro frowned, "But didn't Blythe deny it? Perhaps it was someone else?"

"And who do you think it could be?" Marcos raised his eyes to look at him.

Alvaro rubbed his nose, "I don't know. But Blythe must still dislike her, after all, the perfume was a gift from her to her sister-in-law."

Mark pondered for a moment, "Check Blythe's contacts, you might find something."

"Okay, I'll have them check."

Alvaro pulled out his phone and prepared to make a call, when Marcos added, "Get more people to keep an eye on Esteban, Sweety, I'm worried about them getting to Esteban, Sweety." It hadn't happened before, and he couldn't let the same thing happen again this time!

Alvaro nodded, "Good."

...

The next day, Paulina went to the office as usual, but Marcos was adamant that she had to go in and out with him.

"So, if you go to a meeting at another company, do you have to take me with you too?". asked Paulina with a smile. "If you don't want to, stay in the office and I'll send someone to protect you."

Paulina nodded, "Okay."

They had just arrived at the office when Alfredo came in to report on the investigation of yesterday's events.

"Prince, I've checked the surveillance video, the other party was parked beforehand in the company's subway parking lot."

"And I checked the license plate of the other party at the traffic police squad, and it was a set of cars."

Mark listened and coolly hooked his lips, "It looks like the other party has made all the arrangements."

"But..." Alfredo paused, "the driver and passenger are foreigners."

"Foreigners?" Paulina was taken aback, "I don't know any foreigners."

As soon as the words left her mouth, a person suddenly flashed through Paulina's mind, "Could it be Bergerian?" "Bergerian?" the name was new to Marcos, "Who is it?"

Alfredo explained simply and plainly, "Prince, he's the one who developed the virus in Paulina's body."

"He took Paulina abroad in the first place to do live experiments."

Mark's sword brow furrowed, so that was what had happened in the first place.

Which meant the man named Bergerian was dangerous.

"Is that him?" asked Marcos.

Alfredo shook his head, "No. But don't rule out that the other man is related to Bergerian."

Paulina shuddered at the memory of what had happened, "Bergerian wants to come and take me away again for live experiments?"

It had been so long that she thought Bergerian had given up long ago.

He hadn't expected him to come back.

Marcos saw that his face was slightly pale and knew he was afraid of Bergerian, so he ordered in a deep voice, "Alfredo, find out the identity of the other party immediately and find out if they are related to Bergerian." "Yes!" Alfredo carried out his orders and hurried away.

Paulina furrowed her eyebrows, her face full of concern.

If it really was Bergerian, then there would be no peace again.

"Don't worry, I'll protect you this time."

Mark's soft voice rang in her ears and Paulina looked into his deep eyes, his uncertainty miraculously calming her heart.

She slowly lifted the corners of her lips, "Yes."

Marcos hugged her, "The same person Earlene was talking about earlier when she said she rescued me from the Bergerian, right?"

Paulina nodded, "It's the same person. When I was first taken out of the country, you agreed to the Bergerian's request to trade yourself for me to save me."

"So I've done such a touching thing." said Marcos jokingly, nothing more than to cheer her up and not think too much about it.

"You've done so many touching things." Paulina lifted her little face, her eyes resting on his clear jaw, "but I don't really want you to, I just want you to be safe and sound."

Mark wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on the top of her head and whispering, "We'll all be safe."

Paulina clung to his arm and the corners of her mouth curved upward, "Of course we'll be safe when we say we'll grow old together."

What she wanted most now was for the days to ease.

...

All this time, Chris and Rawlins were trying to find a way to deal with the Leoz Group.

But, unfortunately, since the Leoz Group had received funding from Europacific Bank, all the projects were running in an orderly fashion and there was nowhere to start.

At this, Chris fumed, "When the Leoz Group was in trouble, we should have struck while the iron was hot and made sure it never turned around!"

"Now it's too late for that." Rawlins seemed far more calm than irritated.

It had been clear to him from the beginning that Mark was not one to be so easily defeated, or else how could he have become the man his sister would never forget until the day she died. Thinking about the late Earlene made Rawlins feel much colder.

Chris walked over and sat down across from him, "Rawlins, aren't you anxious to avenge your sister?"

Rawlins looked at him, "Of course I'm anxious. But haste does not make the heart grow fonder."

"I can't wait long." Chris had an impatient expression on his face, "Marcos must be crushed as soon as possible, and it will only make me feel better to see him fall!"

Rawlins thought for a moment and then spoke slowly, "You know what Marcos cares most about?" "What?" asked Chris.

"His wife, Paulina," Rawlins' mouth curved into a grim smile, "Since going after the Leoz Group isn't going to break Marcos, let's give him a taste of the pain of losing the love of his life." Chris patted her leg and laughed, "When it comes to being ruthless, you're the one who's ruthless."

Good thing Linda had been thinking about making Paulina miserable, the two things at the same time didn't conflict.

"Marcos must be especially miserable without Paulina." Rawlins narrowed his eyes, a grim look on his face.

He was going to make sure Marcos felt the pain he felt when he lost Earlene.
