Chapter 1549: Dying to Fight
When Linda saw the news, she panicked.
She rushed to call Chris, but no matter how many times she called, she couldn't get through.
She clutched the phone tightly in her hand. Seeing how bad the situation was at home, how could she solve the current predicament?
But she couldn't just sit around waiting for it to happen.
So she called the few subordinates Chris had left in the field.
"Did you explain anything to him before you left the country?" Linda stared at them and asked.
The subordinates shook their heads.
"Do you have any way to contact him?" asked Linda again.
"We can't get in touch at this time."
In the same situation as Linda, they couldn't get in touch with Chris either.
Linda thought with a somber expression, "Tell you what, I'll go overseas. Keep a close eye on the situation in China and report back to me as soon as there is any news." "Yes."
When Linda arrived overseas, she realized that the situation was much more serious than she had imagined.
--
The Bartram Group had become involved in Chris's project, and the stock had faltered as a result.
This led several partners to withdraw their investments and watch, and many projects that had been traded were stalled as a result.
"Are you all losers? If you can't even appease your clients, what do I need you for?"
Rawlins threw his papers on the floor, raised his hand and tugged at his tie, pointing his finger at the row of subordinates standing in front of him and angrily berating him. All the subordinates ducked their heads, not daring to say a word.
"Look at the Group's actions, what situation have you fallen into, do you still not have a solution?".
No one said anything.
Rawlins stumbled back furiously and headed straight for one of them, grabbed him by the tie and roared, "Say something! Aren't you any good at crisis communication?" "Chairman, I ..."
The other person shuddered and spoke, his body trembling with nervousness.
Seeing this, Rawlins shrugged and took a deep breath, "I order you to give me a solution as soon as possible, and to appease the customers, I don't want more customers calling saying they want to suspend cooperation. do you hear me!" "Yes."
Seeing that they were still standing, Rawlins shouted again, "Do you hear me and get out of here!".
At those words, several men fled.
"Did you get to talk to Chris?" asked Rawlins to his assistant, who was on the phone.
The assistant hung up the phone and shook her head.
"Keep calling! Until you get through." Rawlins ripped off his tie and slammed it on the desk, his face grim and terrified.
Damn Chris, causing all this mess and daring to hide overseas and leave him alone with the mess!
After two days of insistent calls from his assistant, he finally got in touch with Chris.
When he got the call, Rawlins couldn't help but curse, "Chris, are you trying to screw me? Do you know how much you screwed me?".
At his anger, Chris could only explain himself correctly, "Rawlins, I've been screwed. Now Jack is nowhere to be found, the police are after me, and there are rival companies that have been putting the screws to me. I'm very close to the end now."
Rawlins was so angry that he could only stifle his anger and asked, "What's going on here and how did Jack disappear?"
"He went into hiding to avoid the police. I couldn't find him." At that point, Chris took a deep breath, "Rawlins, I desperately need a sum of money. I've mobilized the national operating funds to come to headquarters, but it's still not enough." At those words, Rawlins frowned.
"I need your help, and I'm hoping the Bartram Group can help."
True, they were close partners, but things weren't going well for the Bartram Group right now either, with so many projects stalled and the capital chain struggling.
"I'll have to think about this issue."
Seeing that Rawlins had no intention of agreeing, Chris became anxious, "Rawlins, don't forget we're in the same boat, if anything happens to me, you can't go it alone."
A hint of displeasure crossed Rawlins' face and his tone cooled, "I'm in no better position than you, so I have to think about it."
With that said, Rawlins promptly hung up the phone.
"President..."
The aide was about to open his mouth to ask a question, but saw him raise his hand to stop him from continuing.
"Resolve the company's funding situation." Rawlins ordered.
The assistant nodded, "Good."
When the assistant left, Rawlins sighed with a frown.
Once Chris's went down, he would have a much harder time.
Leoz Group.
Alfredo rushed into the president's office, "Prince, Chris is mobilizing funds to try to keep his company."
"Is that so?" the corner of Marcos' mouth seemed to curve, which was to be expected.
Chris was nothing more than a dying man right now, and even if the company was saved, it was still a lot less than it had been.
"He's already moved all the national funds to headquarters, but it's not enough for now."
Eliazar watched Chris's every move, alerting Alfredo as soon as anything happened, who in turn informed Marcos.
Marcos nodded and thought for a while before speaking slowly: "Next Chris might not be able to withstand the pressure and transfer the project at hand."
Hearing this, Alfredo timidly asked, "Prince, do you want ...?"
Marcos' eyes were deep and methodical, "Tell Eliazar to keep an eye on it and, when it changes hands, we'll buy it on the cheap. Even though he's not a great guy, the company still has good projects." Marcos' eyes narrowed and a grimace played at the corner of his lips, once those few good projects had changed hands, Chris' company would be worthless.
Alfredo nodded, "Yes, I'll tell Eliazar right now."
The Rawlins were not at all suspicious of the Leoz Group, as they were being very secretive about it.
Alfredo thought to himself, "When the BOSS strikes, it's really something."
