Chapter 388 The Long-lost Son Returns

Chapter 388 The Long-lost Son Returns

Cecelia looked at Mizey and responded in a praising tone, "Mizey, your gift is truly lavish! Everyone else has brought various precious gifts, so I won't be joining the bandwagon. I've prepared a special gift for my great uncle!"

"What special gift?"

Mizey doubted what trick Cecelia was about to play.

With a teasing tone, Cecelia said, "This is a gift that none of you could buy with money!"

Everyone's interest was piqued. Edwin curiously asked, "Cecelia, what did you prepare? Are you going to perform a song or dance for grandpa?"

If she were to perform, the male guests would certainly look forward to it.

"That's not it."

"What is it then? Show us!" urged Mizey.

"I planned to reveal it at the end of the banquet. The time hasn't come yet."

Cecelia aroused everyone's curiosity but didn't rush to reveal her surprise. Mizey rolled her eyes and mocked, "Always playing mysterious!"

The banquet was held in the Songo family's Scenic Hall, with dozens of tables set up.

Chris took the stage to deliver his speech. He began by thanking guests from all walks of life for attending his father's 88th birthday celebration. He then spoke about the development history of the Songo family, and finally urged the guests to enjoy the feast and drinks.

Alfred was also asked to say a few words. Taking the microphone, he stood up and said, "Thank you, dear friends and fellow villagers, for gracing this occasion. Today marks my 88th birthday, and I hope that in the years to come, we will have more opportunities to gather together.

"Today, the Songo family has prepared some modest refreshments for everyone. We hope you all enjoy it!"

After Alfred delivered a speech and expressed his gratitude, the banquet officially began. Everyone raised their glasses in toast, and the atmosphere was lively.

As the banquet was nearing its end, Cecelia took the microphone and stepped onto the stage.

"Hello everyone, I'm Cecelia. Earlier at the banquet, I mentioned that I had a special gift for my great uncle to celebrate his 88th birthday. Now, it's time to reveal the gift!"

As she spoke, all eyes were on her. Mizey thought Cecelia would use any excuse to be the center of attention. "Her gift is just her tool to get attention. What can she possibly present?" Mizey thought. Guests who had finished eating turned their attention to the stage, and those still eating paused to see what special gift Cecelia had prepared.

"The gift I've prepared for my great uncle is that I've found his long-lost son, who is also my younger uncle!"

The entire scene was in an uproar after Cecelia's statement.

Everyone was stunned!

The most shocked were the members of the Songo family. What did they just hear?

Cecelia said she found the long-lost son of Alfred?

Carol felt like she had been struck by lightning, unable to recover from her shock for a long time.

Dana and her husband exchanged glances, wondering what Cecelia was trying to do by suddenly mentioning a long-lost son.

Amid the buzzing whispers, many guests pieced together the story of Alfred's illegitimate son who had never been acknowledged by the Songo family. Today, many suspected Cecelia might have set herself up for embarrassment.

"Cecelia, stop this nonsense! Come down immediately!"

Mizey couldn't help but stand up, trying to stop Cecelia's outburst. She had suspected that Cecelia might cause a scene, but she never imagined Cecelia would bring up her grandfather's scandalous past on his 88th birthday. Did Cecelia want to anger him to death?

The Songo family members looked at the two elders, noticing Carol's extremely displeased face. Carol murmured, "What is she up to? What long-lost son?"

Carol looked at her husband, but Alfred's expression remained unchanged, even seemingly expectant.

Dana wanted her husband to stop Cecelia. Before Chris could stand to intervene, Cecelia announced loudly, "Now, let's welcome my younger uncle to the stage!"

All eyes turned to the entrance of the banquet hall. Shortly after, a group of black-suited bodyguards entered, positioning themselves on either side of the entrance. Then, a tall figure walked in.

Benson, as usual, wore his favorite white suit, with his handsome face concealed behind large sunglasses, confidently striding in.

Those who recognized him exclaimed, "It's Mr. Nine!"

"Mr. Nine is here!"

"Mr. Nine... Mr. Nine..."

Many others, who hadn't heard the rumors, expressed their shock, "Why is Mr. Nine here? What's his relationship with the Songo family?" Walking down the red carpet, Benson approached Alfred. Only when he was near did he remove his sunglasses, revealing his features. When she saw a face so reminiscent of Anisa's, Carol's heart filled with a raging anger.

She now realized that Cecelia had colluded with this outsider, trying to force his way back into the Songo family on this occasion.

She would never allow it.

"That vixen never had the chance to set foot in the Songo family's residence in her lifetime, and her illegitimate child definitely won't have an opportunity either!" she thought.

Alfred gazed at his approaching son, his eyes filled with a mix of emotion and nostalgia. Anyone could tell the strong resemblance between Benson and Alfred.

Cecelia also approached, introducing, "Great Uncle, this is your son who has been missing for over twenty years, Benson. His mother is the once-famous singer Anisa. Do you remember her?" Alfred didn't respond, leading to a palpable tension in the room.

Carol slammed the table and stood up. "Mr. Quinsey, you must be in the wrong place! This is not where you can run wild!"

She then scolded Cecelia, "Cecelia, stop causing trouble! Do you want to ruin your great uncle's birthday banquet?"

"Yes, Cecelia, you really didn't consider the bigger picture. How could you do something so rash? You wanna ruin our family's dignity?" Dana chimed in.

Mizey added, "Grandpa, don't be fooled by her. This 'long-lost son' is all a show. Don't believe her!"

Fiona defended Cecelia, saying, "Cecelia did nothing wrong. If Mr. Quinsey is my father's son, it's only natural for him to come and celebrate his birthday."

"Fiona, mind your own business! Whether Mr. Quinsey is dad's son or not isn't for you to decide!"

Chris scolded. He certainly didn't want a long-lost son returning to the Songo family, as it would mean one more person to share the inheritance, which annoyed him deeply.

All the guests were watching the spectacle. If this matter wasn't handled well today, not only would the Songo family's face be lost, but also Mr. Nine's.

Amidst the murmurs, Alfred suddenly shouted, "Enough!"

The whole room instantly became silent, so silent you could hear a pin drop.

All eyes turned to Alfred, waiting to see how the patriarch would respond.
