The two girls exchanged uneasy glances, both decided to deny any malinent. The one with her hair tied in a tight bun spoke first; her voice was dripping with false sweetness, a deliberately high-pitched voice that grated the ears. "Miss, we didn't mean it! Honestly, we had no idea anyone would be snow tubing on this high-difficulty track. It's not the right place for it, but we certainly didn't intend to hit your tube," she rambled.
But beneath her apology was a silent accusation, her face subtly suggesting that it was Yvette's fault for using a snow tube on an ice track like this.
In reality, Jeremiah had been pulling the tube along the edge, far from the main ski path, so their actions had not interfered with any skiers.
By now, a small group of bystanders had gathered, each nodding in agreement with the girl's explanation. They couldn't help but think, 'She's right. Who'd bring a snow tube on a high-difficulty track?'
A man from the crowd spoke up. "She's got a point. Snow tubing on a track like this is pretty odd. It was just a minor bump, no one was seriously hurt. Miss, why not let it slide?"
"Right," another voice added. "No harm done, and these girls are apologizing politely. Maybe you and your boyfriend shouldn't be so confrontational."
A third voice echoed, "Just let it go. This kind of thing happens on the slopes. It wasn't intentional, anyway."
The onlookers chimed in, siding with the two girls. The two women exchanged a smug glance, clearly pleased by the support.
Jeremiah and Yvette stood shoulder to shoulder. Yvette's dark eyes scanned the crowd, stopping at the man who had spoken first. Her face was an unreadable mask, but her voice, when she spoke, was sharper than the winter air. "Do you think you're a saint?" she asked with biting sarcasm.
The man, taken aback, responded defensively, "What do you mean by that?"
Jeremiah smirked, already sensing what was coming. Yvette's gaze locked onto the man, her stare cold. The man fidgeted under the weight of her eyes, his resolve faltering.
Yvette's calmly insulted, "Pity your heart doesn't match your saintly title."
A flicker of rage crossed the man's face, his jaw tightening as he clenched his teeth. Realizing he had pushed too far, he muttered, "How shameless!" Then, he slunk away.
The crowd, visibly unsettled by Yvette's calm intensity, grew quiet. Within moments, they dispersed, leaving the girls stunned as they could not believe their supporters had left so quickly.
Jeremiah gave the snow tube a lazy nudge with his foot, sending rolling toward the girls. It struck their already sore legs, and they both screamed in pain.
The bystanders, no longer curious, turned their attention elsewhere and resumed their skiing.
Jeremiah remained unfazed, his voice casual. "My bad, just an accident. It's a high-difficulty ice track. Stuff like that happens all the time."
He made sure the two got a taste of their own medicine, and now the girls' expressions soured, stunned by his actions.
"We've already told you, it wasn't intentional," the girl with the bun said. "And I'm sure you didn't mean to knock us with your snow tube. That would be terribly rude, wouldn't it?" 10:03 Tue, Dec 31

Despite her words, her gaze remained flirtatious toward Jeremiah, the kind of look that spoke volumes. They did not really blame him for hurting them with the snow tube but simply thought he was defending his girlfriend. 'Anyway, it's all his girlfriend's fault,' they thought. 'A small bump is nothing, right? A man like him shouldn't be limited to just one woman anyway.'
The other woman looked equally lovestruck as she gazed at Jeremiah.
Jeremiah's gaze turned icily sharp as he said, "Oh, it was on purpose."
The two women were stunned, their faces turning an awkward shade of red, their mouths falling open in stunned silence. Yvette's gaze swept over them, her eyes gleaming with mischief and coldness as she observed their flustered reactions. She crouched and took hold of the girl's-the one with the bun-chin, forcing her to meet her eyes. The girl was too shocked to react to this sudden act.
She struggled to free herself, but Yvette's grip was ironclad. The girl's chin reddened from friction, and her lipstick was smeared, transferring onto Yvette's hand in a garish red streak.
The girl stammered in fear, "W-What are you doing? L-Let go of me!"
Yvette's grip tightened just slightly; her dark, piercing eyes half-lidded as a subtle sly smile curled at the corners of her lips.
Staring at the girl, Yvette said slowly, "Such petty tricks. Didn't I promise I'd show you the ropes? Why do you keep refusing to learn?"
The girl gritted her teeth, her voice faltering. "I-I don't get it! Stop accusing me!"
The other girl winced in pain, her leg throbbing, unable to move as she curled up in fear, trying to stay out of Yvette's line of sight. She was certain she would be next. Meanwhile, Jeremiah casually pulled out his phone, tapping out a quick text before standing behind Yvette with a fond smile.
Yvette lightly tapped against the girl's cheek as she said languidly "Don't get it? No problem, I'll show you."
The girl's eyes widened in shock as Yvette effortlessly scooped her up in a single motion and hurled her several feet away effortlessly despite the girl's weight.
Before the girl could even process what was happening, she was flung into the snow tube with a sickening crunch, the source of the crack unknown but clearly painful.
Unable to even scream, the pain paralyzed her, sweat beading down her forehead as she slumped in the snow tube, her body frozen in place like prey awaiting its end.
Yvette took a slow, deliberate step forward. For a moment, the girl behind her thought Yvette was leaving her be, but then Yvette stopped, her gaze turning back to the other girl, whose tension was palpable.
With a playful grin, she addressed the girl warmly, as if open to negotiation, uttering, "Do you want to move by yourself, or should I help you?"
The other girl trembled, knowing that Yvette was not about to let her off the hook. After a few seconds, she hesitantly shifted her injured leg, dragging herself toward the snow tube.
The girl with the bun looked like she might collapse from the pan, her face ashen and full of dread. The other girl finally managed to sit in the snow tube, looking disheveled
The snow tube fitted the two perfectly, hardly leaving any extra pace.

Just as the two of them huddled together for warmth, Frankie and Chris, having received Jeremiah's text, skied over from
nearby.
Watching the scene, they pondered, 'Wait a minute, aren't these the two we saw on the bus with that man and woman?' Frankie and Chris looked at Jeremiah and Yvette, standing there casually. Without even asking, they knew these two girls must have done something foolish to anger Yvette.
