Chapter 1137
Several cars momentarily froze in confusion, all coming to a halt. But then, a call came through. At all costs, Brielle must be captured!
Engines roared back to life, and the cars zoomed straight to the marshland park. If anyone had been there, they'd have witnessed a high-stakes chase unfolding. The brief pause let Brielle gain some distance.
The cars sped through the expansive park, heading for the hills. But these hills were untouched by development; the cars could go no further.
Brielle got out, holding Isaac, while Noir, who had been curled up inside, stretched and shook its muscles vigorously. Brielle climbed onto Noir's back, wrapping her arms around its neck.
Noir had grown up with Isaac, who'd spent years in the castle, and they frequently explored the hills together. Despite being domesticated, Noir retained its hunting instincts and regularly hunted. Its genetics made it superior to most panthers, allowing it to run as swiftly as the wind, the trees blurring past.
Brielle felt a wave of nausea from the speed. Isaac, however, was used to Noir's pace. Feeling Brielle's warmth behind him, he found an unexpected sense of comfort. If only she hadn't wished for her daddy to disappear, things would be so much better. "Noir, go to our usual hunting ground."
That place, frequently visited by Noir for hunting, was connected to these hills and required covering a vast distance, far beyond the pursuers' reach. Additionally, the dense foliage made it nearly impossible for the chasers, even with helicopters or snipers, to aim properly against Noir's swift dodging.
Isaac's favorite was undoubtedly Noir. Understanding his words, Noir sped up, moving so fast it almost left afterimages, making Brielle struggle to keep from getting sick.
Meanwhile, the pursuers, upon seeing the abandoned cars, knew their targets had fled towards the hills and began the chase on foot. They were a formidable group, over thirty strong, all fully armed. "Chase them! Don't let them escape!"
They also reported the situation to their mastermind. Thus, helicopters took to the skies, clashing with those on Dustin's side in a fierce confrontation.
At that moment, Dustin and King were still in their car, surrounded by hunters and traps. They had no choice but to abandon the vehicle and flee to a tall building to meet their helicopter.
King, tracking Isaac's route, shared it
with everyone, including Dustin, who then spread the information further. Their cooperation was seamless, but the enemy's helicopters also arrived at that moment.
From the ground, it would appear that the sky was filled with helicopters, as numerous as migrating birds. Dustin and King's helicopter didn't engage in battle. Seeing the enemy deploying over twenty helicopters for interception, Dustin smirked. Were they really trying to compete with the Lynch family in terms of wealth?
When it came to wealth, the Lynch family had never been outmatched. He made another call, summoning a hundred helicopters to the scene. They quickly overpowered the opposition.
However, King's expression remained grim, aware that the enemy had reinforcements.
"Dustin, go find Brielle and Isaac."
He was worried about them. With so many traps in the city, it was fortunate they had fled to the hills. But what was their situation now?
If anything happened to them... King's eyes reddened at the thought. If anything happened to them, he wouldn't want to live either.
The helicopter headed towards
Isaac's location, while the
mastermind behind all this also sent
reinforcements. The organization,
having existed for decades, had a
strength not to be underestimated.
