Master of his heart (Max and Brielle)

Chapter 1252

But for a moment, she didn't notice anything off. By the time she did, it was too late his arms were already wrapped tightly around her waist. She tried to wiggle free, but it was pointless.

King's cheeks flushed as he looked deeply into her eyes.

Brielle frowned, trying to look away, but he gently held her chin, making her face him.

"Brielle, did you ask Myles to hypnotize you because you couldn't handle the idea of me harming our child?"

His movements were slow, more about closing the distance between them than anything else.

"Coming back on your own, do you miss me, or are you here to see me suffer?"

His forehead rested against hers, his gaze intense.

The intensity of his stare cut through her, soothing her unease. Knowing that his gaze was still focused on her, not wandering to another woman, was a comfort. She sighed in relief but kept her cool exterior.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Playing tough," King chuckled, pulling her closer.

"You don't really hate me, do you?" His voice was soft, but his hands trembled slightly.

Brielle stayed silent, making King tighten his grip in frustration.

It wasn't until the next day that they came downstairs.

Isaac had already finished a bowl of instant noodles and glanced at them briefly.

Brielle felt a wave of embarrassment and quickly moved the bowl away.

"King, weren't you supposed to call the staff?"

King had been too preoccupied the day before to remember, but seeing his son eating instant noodles jolted his memory, and he quickly made several calls. Within half an hour, the household staff were bustling around, preparing breakfast.

Brielle ruffled Isaac's hair. "You can't eat junk food like this anymore."

Isaac said nothing, thinking if he hadn't eaten it, he would have starved last night.

After lunch, Brielle said she needed to go upstairs to prepare some things for her graduation.

King had set up a computer for her, but as soon as she turned it on, she saw entertainment news with Aubree's face splashed across the screen.

At first, she thought she was seeing things, but after rubbing her eyes, she confirmed it was indeed Aubree.

When did Aubree become a top star?

She quickly accepted it and immediately called Aubree.

Aubree had already been informed by King about Brielle's situation, but what shocked her more was Max's dual personality.

Aubree had been in a daze since King's call, her mind foggy.

Her agent noticed her staring blankly, holding an empty spoon for what seemed like forever.

"Aubree?"

Aubree snapped back to reality and eagerly asked, "You're in Beaconsfield already? Come see me, it's been so long!"

Brielle missed her too and was about to head to Stellar Stage Entertainment, where Aubree was signed.

But before she could leave, King firmly blocked her.

"Let Aubree come here. She's a big star now; her appearance would cause a traffic jam, and besides, I don't feel comfortable with you going out."

Brielle secretly smiled, not daring to admit how much she enjoyed his possessive nature, as if he wished to keep her by his side forever, which gave her a sense of security

This wasn't normal, she thought. Would he despise her if he knew her true feelings?

She cooled her expression, "Can't you mind your own business?"

King softened his tone, drawing her into his embrace.

"You're still sick, remember? You should stick to online classes for now, and your graduation project too-don't step away from me!"

This reminded her of when she was

an exchange student in North America, and he had said the same thing, which is why most of her classes were online.

Back then, she was anxious, often sneaking off to school, hiding from peers' questions, worried they might think she was being kept, and also fearing police attention.

The first time she called the police, she genuinely felt violated.

But afterwards, she never thought about calling them again.

Her hesitation made it clear to her-she was becoming abnormal.

She craved that kind of gaze, longing for someone to love her intensely, rather than feeling like an outsider in every family she joined.
