Chapter Something Different!
I rushed outside with the guys to see what the guys were on about. True enough, there was Greg and Bryan tied to two stakes, it would seem they had received more beating from the last time.
But there was trouble, what would I tell mom and dad? What had the boys told mom and dad? I turned to see the faces of Aaron, Trenton, Lucas and Zach. They had this same exasperated look on their faces? For real? I thought they would be scared or something.
"What are we going to do?" I vied for their attention.
"I don't know." Lucas replied.
"How did they know where to find them?" Zach asked.
"I have no clue." Lucas replied.
Mom and dad were at the other far end of the mansion. They were yet to spot us and I hoped they would not ask too much questions.
"We do not have to tell them the truth, you know." I looked at their faces.
"What do we tell them if they ask us?" Zach inquired.
I had no idea. This was going to be big trouble if these boys revealed anything to them, there was going to be nothing to hide anymore. And mom would be disappointed, dad too. They would not believe we had kept such things from them. "Where is Baron?" I asked from either of the boys.
"I don't know." Lucas answered. And if Lucas had no idea, I did not think the rest would have any idea too. "Hey." Baron came from behind. We all turned to stare at him, only Aaron glared and removed his face. "Where have you been?" I asked him.
"I was trying to find a way to release them this morning when I heard footsteps, I had to leave there immediately to avoid any suspicions."
"But mom and dad had found them. What are we going to do? What lies do we tell them?" I was panicky and I felt I had the right to be. I did not want this story coming out to mom and dad's hearing. It would open a lot of things I wanted us to just settle amongst us, not get them involved.
"You do not have to panic. Here's what we will tell them. Are you guys listening?" Baron looked at his brothers.
Only Aaron was refusing to be involved.
"Aaron!" I whisper yelled his name.
He turned. "What?"
"If those boys open their mouth to say anything or we begin to have different stories when we're asked, I'll hate you for life." I threatened him.
This was not really going to affect him or the boys, it was me. These boys - Greg and Bryan - had come for me. It was going to affect me and I wanted no issues with mom and dad.
He reluctantly came but made sure to stay far from his twin brother. I did not care what he did, so long as he was available for the conversation and went along with it.
"The best thing is to say they are criminals that came into the night to try to steal. We can then tell dad that we should let them go since we have beaten them up. Sounds like a plan to anyone?"
"It's okay. Keep it simple and straight forward." I was the first to speak, anything to get away from this mess.
I just wondered how I would have done if the boys had not started talking to me. I doubted Baron and I would have been able to handle this all alone. My bones were weak, I had not had enough sleep. It had been from one issue to the other. There was still a lot that was needed to be revealed. But let us tackle this first.
"Katherina and the boys." I froze hearing the voice. Mom. "Don't think we have not seen you guys, we have, we just have something to take care of first."
"Family living room. Now!" Dad ordered.
Lucas and I were in front, while the rest of the boys followed behind. We got to the family living room and I sat gingerly, I had no idea what to expect this morning. It could be a long line of lecture or stern warning. Whichever it was, I could not pray for it to go faster.
What had they decided to do with those boys? Would they kill them? Try to punish them again or something. What exactly would be the verdict of those boys? I sighed. Waiting for whatever they had called us for to begin.
Dad looked at everyone of our faces. Mom went into the kitchen to make breakfast, I tried to seat still but I was too nervous to, especially with the way dad was staring at me, suspicion in his eyes. I looked away, meeting eyes with Aaron who had been staring at me without my knowledge.
He smiled and for some reason, despite the gravity of the situation, I smiled back. Silence ensued and while Lucas and Zach seemed like they were bored already, Baron and Trenton kept their expressions, expressionless. Aaron was still locking gaze with me, and I was too enthralled to do anything else but look at him right back.
"Katherina." Dad called, surprising me.
I jolted out of my skin. "Alpha... Y-yes, Davi...uhmm. Dad." I was quite the stupid person. See how I was embarrassing myself.
Zach and Lucas began to chuckle quietly, I could not blame them. If I were in their shoes, I would have laughed out very loud at myself. I gulped at dad's serious stare.
"Yes, dad?" I responded again. That was me trying to tell him to quickly say what he wanted to say to me. Or ask whatever questions he wanted to. The wait was killing. "Who are those boys?" He asked.
"Criminals." I quickly replied, according to Baron's plan. He had told us to say they were criminals.
"Criminals, huh?" He quirked an eyebrow.
"Yes dad." Why was he looking like he did not believe me?
I swallowed...or had the boys told him something different?
