Miss, My Father loves you

Chapter 14 Don't Test My Patience

Daryl hesitated, but Zack thought she was going to refuse. His face turned pale and his features were tense. He gripped her waist so hard, Daryl was afraid she might get crushed. 'Til give you one night to think about it!" Zack's voice was so cold Daryl felt the chill to her bones.

Daryl hit him hard on his chest, struggling to get out of his grip.

"Let go of me!"

"Don't test my patience. Bennie likes you. Don't let that go to waste and seize the opportunity!" Zack gritted his teeth. Seeing how flustered she was becoming, he released her. No woman in her right mind would react like this after hearing his proposal.

Women would pounce on any opportunity to be with him, but not Daryl. That one avoided him as if he was a poisonous snake or a scorpion. She defied him any chance she could. She was very stubborn and tried so hard to pretend to be strong, Zack thought it was stupid! Zack let her go. He then turned around and strode away.

As soon as he was out of the kitchen, Zack pulled off the tie from his chest. From it, he caught the faint scent of the woman. His breath hitched and whatever anger there was inside of him immediately got replaced with sadness. As soon as Benjamin finished taking a shower, he rushed downstairs.

Seeing his dad's dark face, Benjamin couldn't help but swallow and asked, "Daddy, did you have a fight with Mommy?"

'Why is he angry again?

How is Mommy?'

Benjamin tried to look around for Daryl, but he was picked up by Zack.

"Just watch TV!"

Zack's face darkened and his tone was full of warning.

Benjamin wouldn't want to get in trouble again. He just sat on the sofa with Zack. As loud as he could, he shouted, "Mommy, are you okay?"

Daryl responded after a while.

"I'm fine. Bennie, don't worry. Dinner will be ready in ten minutes, okay?"

"Okay," Bennie answered. He tried to eavesdrop on what was happening in the kitchen. To his relief, there were sounds of pots, pans and running water.

The kitchen was filled with scents of different food being prepared and cooked.

Although Zack had gone out, Daryl still felt his breath in the kitchen.

His warm breath, the heat of his hand especially when he put it against her waist, his voice-so deep that it made the butterflies in her stomach flutter-she couldn't get all of these off her mind. He just proposed to her!

She knew that Zack wanted to do it for Benjamin. Knowing that, she couldn't find any reason to refuse.

She tried to push the thoughts out of her mind and decided to just focus on preparing for dinner.

Benjamin was so excited and happy. He was eating more than what he usually did.

Zack, on the other side, was the complete opposite. His face was expressionless as he took in what was on the table. There was nothing special about it, just simple home cooking. He glanced at his son who was almost dancing in excitement. Benjamin was overreacting. He took a bite and was immediately surprised. The dishes tasted a lot better than what he had imagined.

He had always been picky about food, only eating food cooked by the best chefs. However, the woman's home -made dishes really appealed to him.

Zack did not let his emotions show. He tried to put up an air of indifference. "It's disgusting."

Taken aback, Daryl bit her lips and asked, "Is it really that bad?"

It couldn't be that bad.

Daryl picked up some food and took a bite. It didn't taste bad at all.

"Mommy, don't listen to Daddy. He's lying. He likes your dishes. I don't know why he's picking on you," Bennie interjected.

"Well, you can eat more if it tastes good, okay?" Daryl did her best to ignore Zack and his words. Despite this, she couldn't help but tighten her grip on her chopsticks. She decided to focus on Benjamin instead. She put a lot of food into the child's bowl. Zack stared at the woman in front of him and tried to hold back a snort. He was unhappy for she ignored him again.

The whole night, all Daryl could think of was Zack's words.

After dinner, Daryl ushered Benjamin to bed. Before she left, she told Zack that she wanted to have a talk with him.

She wanted her mother to be safe. She wanted justice for what happened to them. She wanted to be in show business again. She wanted to take back what Candida took away from Ye family. She needed Zack's support.

She had no reason to refuse.

Realizing this, Daryl breathed a sigh of relief.

After consulting the housekeeper, Daryl was informed that Zack was swimming in the pool on the top floor. She mustered her courage and went up to talk to him.

The top floor was nothing if not luxurious. It was open to the dark and starry night sky.

The light from the lamps looked like they were spilling on the water. It made the swimming pool look fantasy.

Daryl was letting herself enjoy the moment when suddenly, a figure popped out from the water.

Zack walked out of the swimming pool.

Droplets of water were sliding down his chiseled jaw. So visible were his eight, tight, and beautifully toned abs. Daryl's gaze went down to his long and lean legs. It was as if God himself created this masterpiece. It was the first time that Daryl had seen such a handsome man.

At that moment, her mind went completely blank.

Zack obviously saw her. He wiped his hair dry and looked at her. His eyes were even darker than the night. "What's wrong? Do you like what you're seeing?"

The man's deep and magnetic voice rang in her ears and snapped her back to her senses. Her embarrassment was quickly turning into anger and she felt her face going red but she was unwilling to admit defeat. She looked at him straight into his eyes. "No. I've seen much better figures. It doesn't really affect me. I don't feel anything."

Hearing this, Zack stopped from drying his hair.

He threw her a sharp look, tossed the towel in his hand and closed the distance between them. Without a beat, he held her closely in his arms.

The man's cold and fresh breath quickened, his glowing, dark eyes stared into hers. "Really? You don't feel anything at all?"

Daryl panicked and tried to wriggle out of his grip. "What are you doing? Get away from me!"

'What's wrong with this man? He's so bossy!'

She tried to push him away but as soon as her hand touched the man's chest, he grabbed it. He pursed his lips and whispered, "I want to see if you really don't feel anything."

He kissed Daryl.

He didn't give her any chance to resist. He grabbed her small hand, placed it behind him, and pressed his hard, lean body on hers.

His sharp, hot breaths were a contrast to the coldness of the night.

It wasn't just a kiss.

Zack bore down on her so hard, it also felt like punishment.

Daryl winced in pain. Her face was starting to get pale but she still couldn't break free. On the contrary, Zack's grip on her was getting tighter and tighter. The man's forceful and domineering kiss gave her no chance to breath. By the time he had let up, her body felt feverish and she was trembling uncontrollably.

The man's breath was as heavy as hers. "Do you feel anything now? I dare you to tell me that you don't."
