Chapter 465
Old habits die hard!
Everett was still stewing after their last awkward encounter, especially since Selena had been so unresponsive beneath him. No amount of effort could spark her interest, leaving him both frustrated and defeated. But now, under his gentle teasing and caresses, Selena was starting to respond...
A glimmer of excitement sparked in Everett's eyes. After all this time, his desire for her was ready to burst at any moment. He couldn't resist leaning down to kiss her soft, pink lips.
Selena turned her head away, unwilling, but he gently but firmly guided her face back, capturing her lips with his own in a commanding kiss.
"Mrs. Bennett," he said without a hint of shame, "I'm just communicating with our child, as you agreed..."
"Stay focused!"
His kisses were urgent and fierce, leaving Selena with no option but to surrender. The more she tried to fight it, the more she found herself enveloped in his embrace. His hand pressed firmly against her lower back, as if he wanted to meld her into his very being. Selena quickly felt Everett's desire pressing dangerously against her, intensifying the flush on her cheeks, brought on entirely by him.
"Shameless!" she spat, the words escaping through clenched teeth.
Everett was unfazed, continuing to kiss her delicate neck while breathlessly saying, "Mrs. Bennett, it's just a natural male reaction. Don't you feel it too?" She did, indeed.
But what she felt was more the urge to smack some sense into him!
His fingers, warm against her skin, brushed softly at the corners of her reddened eyes. His voice softened, coaxing, "Since we've agreed to part on good terms and will always be linked through our child, we should stay friends. Friends help each other out, right? Isn't that nice?"
At his suggestion, Selena was on the verge of exploding.
Who in their right mind would want to help him out? Forget that!
"Everett, do you really think I need anything from you? Even if it were gold-plated or diamond-studded, I wouldn't be interested! Mmm..."
Everett silenced her again with a kiss, his lips firmly sealing away any words she didn't want to hear. His hand slid under her nightgown, exploring freely, as if to make up for the silent treatment she had been giving him.
He had always done as he pleased.
Ending it wasn't her decision to make.
Besides, he had never considered ending things with her.
She would always be his Mrs. Bennett!
Ava was outside with the vacuum cleaner when the master bedroom door swung open. She expected to see Mrs. Bennett up and about but instead found the tall, imposing figure of Everett.
His face was a picture of
satisfaction, with a contented smile that Ava, with her seasoned eye, recognized from a mile away. Fora moment, she thought she was seeing things, standing frozen and forgetting to even greet him
Having satisfied his desires, Everett's mood was considerably milder. He didn't mind Ava's lapse in manners and casually instructed, "Make an extra breakfast; I'll be eating here." Ava: "
"1
Once he headed downstairs, Ava snapped back to reality and rushed into the bedroom.
Selena had just sat up, her face flushed and hair tousled, trying to cover the tell-tale marks on her neck and chest.
She muttered a curse under her breath and softly asked, "Ma'am, are you alright?"
Selena, her expression flat, adjusted her clothes and replied hoarsely, "I'm fine."
The brazen man had held and kissed her, but after she landed a couple of slaps on him, dampening his enthusiasm, he had let her go.
Selena could bear it, but Ava couldn't
hold back her outrage. "That lousy
man! I saw in the paper today that last night, he left his mistress's. apartment in the middle of the night and then came here. It's disgusting!"
Selena's eyes narrowed sharply.
He had just come from Margot's place?
Suddenly, the ding-dong of text alerts erupted.
The phone on the bedside table started buzzing like crazy.
Selena instinctively picked it up and tapped the screen.
In the next moment, her eyes burned with fury, her temples throbbing with anger.
