Chapter 40 b
Nathan wouldn't waste an opportunity, especially for breakfast at Tasya's house. He woke up early, full of energy. When he came out of his room, Naina was already dressed neatly.
"Let's go, Daddy."
Nathan laughed. "You're ready already?"
"Yeah, of course. Tasya woke me up. So I wouldn't be late and we could have breakfast together. Daddy, didn't she call you?"
If only he were allowed to protest and express his envy to Naina, he would have done it since last night after escaping from his mother's scolding for daydreaming about something pleasant. Seriously, his daydreams about a peaceful and enjoyable life with Tasya were at the top of his list. Not daydreams in a bad or strange sense. What's the point? There will come a time when Nathan will be with Tasya, and nothing will stop them.
He could still contain all his fantasies about Tasya's beauty to some extent. Because Nathan was sure that beautiful things were waiting for him on the other side. Patience was the key, right? "Ah, seeing Daddy's silent face, for sure you didn't get a call from Tasya." Naina adjusted her backpack. "Daddy must have done something wrong, that's why she didn't call."
"What did Daddy do wrong?" Nathan became curious. Did Tasya tell Naina about her mistakes? But, Naina is still young, right? Did Tasya mention something about Bonnie? It doesn't seem possible. "Daddy is mean, you know. Always blaming Tasya. I remember what Daddy said about work. Not giving Tasya a break, always in a hurry, especially when it comes to Daddy's business. That's mean." Nathan was astonished.
"Plus, yesterday. Daddy made Tasya sad, right? To the point that she didn't work?"
"Huh?" Nathan was still following Naina's steps. He was trying to digest the fact that most of what the girl was saying was true. It meant that Tasya did talk about him, right?
"Yeah. Tasya said Daddy was mean. Doesn't love Tasya. Cares more about the Unicorn Worm."
"Who's the Unicorn Worm?" Sunny interjected. The morning argument had been forewarned by Naina and Nathan. Although Sunny was slightly puzzled as to why both of them woke up so early. They were already dressed in uniforms and work shirts. "Where are you two going?"
"Having breakfast at Tasya's house, Oma. Actually, Daddy wasn't invited, but because of Tasya's kindness, that's why he's invited."
Sunny blinked in disbelief.
"Because Daddy is mean, Oma, to the point of making Tasya cry."
"Eh, when?" Nathan stammered. "No, it's not true."
"No way, how could that happen? Last night, Tasya called, and her voice sounded sad. She said Daddy made her sad."
"Nathan?" Sunny demanded an explanation.
"No, Ma. It's all clear now."
"So, did you have an issue yesterday?" Sunny really couldn't understand Nathan's thought process. Last night, he claimed everything was fine and all he had to do was prove his seriousness to Tasya. But why this strange report from Naina this morning? It couldn't be that her granddaughter was lying, right?
"That Unicorn Worm is annoying, Oma."
Ah, now this! "Who is this Unicorn Worm? Nathan, I've been asking you about this for days, and you didn't answer."
"Ask Daddy, Oma. Naina doesn't know anything about the Unicorn Worm." She reached out to her grandmother. "I'm leaving first, okay? I'll have breakfast with Kak Tasya. Daddy said I don't have to share!"

Tasya saw Naina off with an enthusiastic wave. Breakfast this morning was a blast. Tasya had been looking forward to the morning because she missed the atmosphere at the dining table. Robin and Ronan were equally excited, especially when their guests arrived: Naina and Nathan.
Even though it was just rice with oyster sauce shrimp, everyone ate heartily. Not a grain of rice was left on the plates. Naina even asked for a packed lunch for the first time. She said, "Naina wants Tasya to make lunch. Make it every day, okay." Tasya wasn't unwilling to promise. She was afraid Naina would have a hard time waking up earlier than usual every day. If she was in Nathan's kitchen, it would be easy to make lunch for Naina. Um... wasn't it true that Tasya often stayed at Nathan's house?
"Naina's car is no longer visible, Mama Raptor. Your smile can dry up now." Nathan approached Tasya, handing her the bag and blazer belonging to his assistant, who also happened to be his girlfriend. "Come on, let's go now. I've checked everything. Nothing has been overlooked."
"The stove?"
"Checked, Mama Raptor." Nathan still had a sulky expression. "Come on."
"I don't want to go if you're still sulking."
Nathan sighed deeply. Today he had to keep sulking, so Tasya would pay attention to him. He needed to be pampered. Or maybe get a gift in the form of a long hug, with a bonus of loving kisses, if possible. Whatever. The important thing was that Tasya paid more attention to him than anyone else. Well... Although he had to admit, apart from Tasya's two siblings and Naina.
But there's still a hint of annoyance because Tasya hasn't looked at him since earlier. Nathan had gone to great lengths to wake up, after all. He'd twisted and turned quickly to catch up with Naina, who had already left. Fortunately, Naina hadn't reached the car usually driven by Mr. Jack yet.
Ck! Naina was the smartest at getting him into trouble.
"Why, though?" Tasya asked again, making sure her house keys were already locked. Her two siblings had left earlier. Robin had been dropped off first by Hari. Meanwhile, Naina was picked up by Mr. Jack because their school and office were in different directions. Also, it was because of Nathan's instructions, saying there was a morning meeting at Sangri-La. That's why they couldn't drop Naina off first.
"Ugh, Daddy, always with the smart excuses," Naina smirked.
Nathan wanted to smile victoriously, but it would be too obvious that he was just making excuses. So he just shrugged while whispering, "After work, shall we go to the mall? Watch a movie with Tasya?"
"Okay!" Naina was thrilled with Nathan's recent words. Who wouldn't be happy to go to the mall for some fun after school?
Nathan chose to lead the way, opened the door for Tasya, and made sure she buckled her seat belt correctly, even though it wasn't necessary. How long had Tasya been sitting next to Nathan? She wasn't a new assistant who didn't understand anything about road safety.
"Thank you." Tasya just gave her appreciation, even if it was just in words. Nathan smiled thinly and quickened his pace to the driver's seat.
"Do we really have a meeting at Sangri-La?" Tasya asked to confirm. She had also opened her tablet, displaying Nathan's work schedule. Even though she had taken a day off yesterday, she had made sure that nothing was missed regarding Nathan's matters.
"Nope," Nathan replied with a wide grin. "That was just my excuse, Tasya."
"Oh my God!" Tasya rolled her eyes in frustration. "You're unbelievable."
"Naina got me all annoyed since morning, Mama Raptor. She said I did something bad to you in front of Mama. Not to mention she brought up that Bonnie, even though I didn't want to discuss it with Mama. You know how Mama is, right? She won't stop until she gets a satisfactory answer about what happened," Nathan spoke without interruption. Nonetheless, his hands quickly turned the key and started the car's engine.
They couldn't be late for the office. Nathan still held a strong sense of discipline when it came to time, just like a company leader should.
"So... What about Bonnie?"
Nathan sighed softly. "Didn't you hear my explanation since yesterday?"
"I heard it, but it was mostly apologies. How am I supposed to think?"
