After more than four hours, the bodyguard’s surgery concluded.

The doctor informed Rosalynn that all bullets had been successfully removed from his body.

He was severely injured but, fortunately, the wounds were not in critical areas.

He was currently out of danger.

Rosalynn breathed a sigh of relief and continued her vigil for Sanford’s surgery to end.

By this time, it was already the next morning.

The operation was still ongoing, and Rosalynn couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy.

As everyone knows, the more serious the patient’s condition, the longer the surgery typically takes.

She held onto the hope that Sanford would be fine.

“Honey.”

Brian’s voice was groggy as he slowly came to consciousness on the hospital bed.

Rosalynn snapped back to reality and offered him a gentle smile.

“Honey, you’re awake.

How do you feel?”

“I’m okay,” he responded, managing to sit up.

He looked at Rosalynn’s somewhat haggard face, his brows furrowing with concern.

“Did you stay up all night taking care of me?”

“No, I slept for a while,” Rosalynn blurted out.

She was pregnant, and the stress from the trip had worn her down.

Thus, she took a rest after things had finally settled down.

Thankfully, the bodyguards she had brought along were keeping a close eye on Brian.

With them around, she had been able to curl up next to him and finally drift off into a deep, much-needed sleep.

When Brian heard her response, his tense expression softened just a bit.

He couldn’t stop thinking about Sanford, though.

“How’s Sanford doing?”

“He’s still in the operating room,” Rosalynn replied.

Brian scowled slightly.

“How long has it been?”

“Six hours,” Rosalynn answered softly.
