My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2464

Tremaine was terribly confused!

Madam Quartley's face darkened, "Tremaine, you are the president of Nashaland! Don't forget that! You have a wife now! Are you going to abandon your country and your wife for that woman?!" Tremaine was quiet.

If things were different, he wouldn't be doing this, of course not.

Because in addition to love, he was shouldering several heavy responsibilities.

But this was different.

Yesseca was dying.

He couldn't control that.

Tremaine didn't want to argue with his grandmother, so he simply listened to her rant.

Madam Quartley continued for some time before realizing that Tremaine wasn't talking back to her. She assumed that he had changed his mind.

She then said in a much softer tone, "Tremaine, now that you've realized your mistake, I will let this go and won't mention this again. You can give that young man a high-ranking position and make him your confidant, but you must not allow him to replace you. You are indispensable." "Yes," Tremaine responded.

He really didn't want to argue with his grandmother.

Madam Quartley believed that Tremaine had accepted her compromise.

She breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Tremaine, I know you haven't forgotten about Yesseca. Now that she's ill, you must feel terribly uncomfortable. I understand how you feel." She then sighed and continued, "But that's all in the past and you shouldn't be involved anymore. You're married to Rorita now. I hope you will keep this in mind."

"Mmm." Tremaine muttered. He then turned around and walked away.

Rorita had dinner with Tremaine.

During their dinner, Rorita kept quiet.

When she noticed that Tremaine was done with his meal she asked, "Sir, I heard that you intend to resign, is that true?"

Tremaine focused his deep, dark eyes on Rorita.

Rorita then said softly, "Whatever you decide, I will support you."

Tremaine nodded his head.

"Do you wish to accompany Miss Cowell until she passes?" Rorita continued, "If that is the case, you can choose to take a long period of leave and appoint someone to be in charge for the time being. You don't need to resign. You can come back to work after."

Tremaine's face looked disdainful.

He then said, "I can't ever come back."

Rorita was surprised at this.

She was confused as she didn't understand what Tremaine meant.

Int

Tremaine then changed the subject, "The young man's name is Elmond. He comes from a humble family but has managed to earn himself a position in the presidential office all by himself. He has the right qualities to lead the country."

"I am certain that Nashaland will prosper and advance with his leadership."

"Sir, no one is better suited to be president than you." Rorita couldn't stop herself from saying this.

Tremaine looked at her and said, "You just said you'd support my decision."

Rorita held her breath and said, "Yes, I do support you. But I also hope that you'll take some of my advice."

"I understand." Tremaine continued, "But I can never return once I leave for Agaphen City."

Rorita's heart tightened again.

She wasn't sure what Tremaine was planning to do, but she had a bad feeling about it.

Rorita then asked uneasily, "Sir,

do you

that you can

return once you leave for Aganet

City? What are you saying?"

Tremaine kept his lips shut.

Rorita's mind went crazy. Her expression changed drastically.
