Once Upon a Steamy Night

Chapter Chapter Eight

The weather wasn't supposed to be this beautiful, but he knew that with her everything was perfect. He stared into her beautiful blue eyes and he could almost perceive the scent of the ocean. "I don't normally do this but with you..." she trailed off and kept her eyes fixed on the ground.

He raised her jaw causing her to look at him. "Don't be shy, my love. I understand everything. With you, it's different too."

"Make love to me, stranger," she had whispered.

He had chuckled at the name she had given him, but he hadn't hesitated in fulfilling her bidding for he was skilled in the art of lovemaking. It was part of his personality.

His hands had caressed her cheeks and she had trembled lightly when his hands caressed her neck.

Slowly and gently, he had sucked and nipped at her perfect skin. He had tried his best to be gentle, but her scent intoxicated him like ambrosia and nectar.

All his years of roaming on earth, he has never lost control like he was doing right now.

"It doesn't have to be planned," she whispered.

Her words sent shivers down his skin and he wondered what it would feel like to hear her moan his name as he gave her pleasures only he was capable of giving.

In a state of passionate frenzy, he almost gave up his name. But the moment he lost control and slammed into her, his name became history.

The only thing that mattered was her sweet moans and their breathing as their body slammed into each other in perfect sync.

At that moment, he had been willing to give up his immortality for eternity with this mortal but once again, fate deceived him and took her away from him.

"Adam! We're gonna be late!!"

Adam woke up with a start and sighed as he looked around the room he was in, the events of yesterday and today's events flooded his mind.

"Good morning, Princess," he flashed her a smile.

"Good morning, Adam. Glad you're awake let's get you dressed up," Claire hissed.

Adam sighed. "I'm sorry I made it difficult for you to wake me."

Claire rolled her eyes. "Less talking and more action."

Claire left the room and went downstairs to wait for him. So much for having an uncle who wakes up late.

Her phone beeped and she frowned at the unknown number texting her only to realize it was Liam and he was asking her if she needed a ride to school.

Stalker much? She snapped mentally as she deleted the text and kept her phone in her back pocket, rocking on the heels of her boots.

If he was really into her, he would realize she had a car!

When Adam came downstairs she smiled. He may have a lot of explaining to do but she was cool with him being her uncle.

He was dressed in black leather jeans and a jacket with black boots. His hair had been trimmed short magically and was slicked back perfectly, his golden irises were the most dominant. In all, he exuded sexual masculinity and power. He had the bad boy look, fitting the black sheep of his family image.

"How do I look?" He asked.

Claire frowned because beneath his exterior, she could see he was nervous.

"I just managed to cut my hair magically, but I couldn't do anything about my eyes, it keeps glowing up the contacts." "You're perfect, Adam."

His eyes lit up in her voice and he smiled sadly. "Your mother used to tell me that all the time."

"Did you spend so much time with her?" She asked quietly. It's pure curiosity, she mentally smiled.

"One night, Claire but that was the best and most cherished night of my entire life and still counting," Adam replied.

Claire gaped at him. If she understood correctly, he spent only one night with the woman who was supposed to be her mom. Isn't that a hook-up? She wondered. "Are you coming?"

She blinked and nodded following him out of the house. Her eyes lightened up when she saw the sweet ride he had magically conjured up in the garage.

"A motorbike!" She exclaimed excitedly staring at the black shiny beauty.

"I'm glad you like it. I have to live the part of a rock star, remember," he chuckled.

She nodded and hopped on the bike, wore a helmet, and prepared to zoom off.

Adam arrived at Claire's school and got off heading towards the principal's office. He couldn't understand why the girls threw him flirtatious looks as he headed towards the office. One of them even stopped Claire and whispered in her ears but he heard her asking Claire for his phone number.

When they got to the principal's office, Adam put on his best parenting smile.

"Good morning, Principal Jenkins," he greeted politely.

The principal snorted. "Glad you've finally learned some manners."

Adam winced. He had planted a black sheep of the family memory in the mind of the townspeople so the story could match with Claire's story.

Now, he just wished to be addressed as Claire's dad.

"Principal Jenkins, my niece is sorry about what happened yesterday, she has a lot to deal with, right Claire?"

"Yes, Principal. I'm so sorry."

"I can't believe you got custody of Claire!" The principal exclaimed.

"I'm her only living relation so suck it up," Adam snapped.

The principal chuckled. "This is your last warning, Claire. Stay out of trouble."

Claire nodded and he left the office with her only then did he realize his daughter was dressed like a shabby nanny. "Why are you dressed like that, Claire?" He asked in a whisper.

"Ugh! Not you too," she snapped.

"This is a fashion emergency, but I don't think we can do this here, so we'll go shopping once you're back from school."

Claire kept glancing at the wall in her class wondering when the class would fill up and her dumb teacher would come.

She couldn't believe that after Adam's arrival a lot of girls were looking for her to get his number that was why she had sneaked out of the library to hide in the class.

Maybe Adam might know something about fashion with the way he was attracting girls so it wouldn't be such a bad idea if they went shopping today.

"I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Claire groaned when Liam entered the classroom and headed straight to the empty seat beside her.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"You should have replied to my text then I wouldn't have had to drive over to your house," he replied.

Claire glared at him. "I'm under no obligation to do so."

"I was worried about you, Claire," he said.

She saw how genuine he was that she almost felt bad she was ignoring him.

"Why were you worried? Nothing happened to me," she asked instead.

He nodded. "Yeah. Nothing happened."

She noticed how jumpy Liam had seemed when talking and how he avoided her eyes. She knew something was going on with him.

"What's the matter?" She asked.

He shrugged. "Nothing."

"Tell me, Liam," she urged.

"It's no use. You aren't going to believe me," he replied.

Claire's heart skipped a bit. "Try me."

"Yesterday, the whole town was frozen," he whispered.

She raised her brow an inch but said nothing.

"I tried driving to your house but the people on the streets I didn't want to knock anyone down so I walked but before I could arrive everyone was back to normal."

She furrowed her brows at him. "Let me get this straight, the entire town was frozen yesterday?"

"Yes and nobody seems to remember or believe me," he replied.

Claire gulped softly. This could only mean that he didn't freeze, and could it also mean that there are others too?

"I mean, how possible is it?" She asked.

"It's possible," he stressed.

"Maybe, you saw something that didn't happen," she said quietly.

"You don't believe me too, Claire," he sighed.

She gave him a sad smile and was about to say something when the bell rang.

"We'll talk about this later," she said.

Within a few minutes, the class was filled with students as Anna cast her an angry gaze and smiled flirtatiously at Liam who ignored her.

"You should be with your admirers, not me," she said.

He frowned. "I like being with you."

Claire scoffed. "Since when?"

"Don't blame me, Claire. You're the one who isolated yourself from the world."

"Because they kept shrugging me off!" She snapped.

"Well, your dressing sense isn't so enticing," he mumbled.

"What's it with you all and my dressing!"

The classroom door opened before he could reply, and Principal Jenkins stepped in.

"You kids have a new substitute teacher till your literature teacher returns."

The students rolled their eyes.

"Allow me to introduce Mr. Kol Rowland."

Claire gasped when the new teacher entered the classroom.

Talk about complications!
