Chapter Rebirth Of 88
Chapter 88
Nick was shocked and thought, 'Cut back on expenses? Has the company of the Tompson family really reached such a low point?'
Nick was startled, sitting up abruptly. He was incredulous and asked, "Honey, don't scare me like that!"
If it really collapsed, the Tompson family's hefty real estate could give him a huge windfall.
Wendy furrowed her brow and showed a somewhat ceric smile when noticing the tension in his eyes. "Honey, why would I scare you? You can see the company's situation yourself. How about inviting Easton over tomorrow night and considering arranging a marriage with Jennifer?"
That was what she truly wanted to say. If Natalie wanted a divorce, she should not just allow it to happen.
Easton was no catch and definitely wasn't a good enough match for her daughter.
She thought Maurice whom Natalie went on a blind date with that night was a great guy.
Nick shifted his gaze and wondered if she had noticed something hidden earlier.
Nick thought, 'Hearing what she said just now, she was still very worried about Jennifer!'
"Alright. Prepare some nice dishes for tomorrow. I'll have Easton come over, and we need to sort this out. Natalie has always refused to divorce..." said Nick.
"Nick, it's Easton who refuses to divorce now. We need to convince him to divorce and marry Jennifer," Wendy reminded him, not wanting to hear him badmouth her daughter.
Wendy thought she was also mean and wasn't fit to be Natalie's mother.
That beast Nick was even worse. He swapped her daughter and sent his and the mistress's daughter for her to raise. She dreamed of killing that jerk. He even dreamed of taking everything from the Tompson family to give to Jennifer and his illegitimate child. Nick was puzzled and couldn't figure it out. He thought, 'Easton wanted a divorce before. Why won't he go through with it since Natalie really wants it now? Does he suddenly notice how great Natalie is?'
Nick was concerned. "Natalie and Easton haven't divorced yet. Would what we're doing make Easton feel pressured?" Wendy's voice was cold. "Why would it? The problem is with Easton, and he just needs to agree to the divorce."
Nick was even more eager for Easton to become his son-in-law; after all, Easton was more competent. With Easton's help in the future, it would be much easier to take all the assets of the Tompson family.
Nick agreed to invite Easton over to the house tomorrow.
Wendy fell into a deep sleep, but Nick was getting nervous.
Under the covers, his hand moved back and forth, but nothing was happening.
Nick was about to lose it and thought, 'Why is this happening? I am only fifty, and this is practically draining my life away!'
Nick didn't sleep a wink that night and felt a bit disoriented.
In contrast, Wendy slept well and felt very relaxed.

Nick dragged himself downstairs, feeling worn out. This morning, he wasn't strutting around confidently; instead, he had a lump in his throat.
Seeing Jennifer having breakfast, he remembered the important matter. He asked Jennifer to invite Easton over for dinner to discuss their marriage plans. He also knew that Easton's father had returned.
As he knew Easton didn't get along with his dad William, so he didn't invite him over. He decided to sort things out with Easton first before making further plans. Jennifer was delighted because she was sure she could persuade Easton to come over tonight.
"Okay, Dad. Got it." After lunch, Jennifer called Easton.
"Hello?" Easton's deep voice came from the other end.
Jennifer was thrilled as he finally answered her call. "Easton, you finally answered my call. I knew you wouldn't ignore me. Easton, can you come over for dinner tonight? I have something to tell you about why Aunt got sick. I've found some evidence." Easton agreed readily. "Sure!"
Jennifer was thrilled to hear that Easton agreed so quickly.
She personally took the servants and the chef out to buy groceries.
She also hired a five-star chef to come and cook dinner.
Nick and Wendy also made preparations at home.
Jason kept busy with the racing team.
After answering Jennifer's call in his office, Easton's expression darkened. He thought, 'She had left years ago and should not know about Mom's situation. Or maybe she had never left, and Xavier's information was correct. Easton stood up, gently tapping his long fingers on the desk. His brow was slightly furrowed, showing an inscrutable and thoughtful look.
He hadn't been able to concentrate all day, with his mind occupied with the note Natalie left behind.
Natalie: [I hope my husband won't need to take these pills anymore. Stay healthy!]
Those few words showed her love for him.
He had never been loved by anyone.
He protected Jennifer because, like a ray of light, she lit up his heart.
He always had a soft spot for Jennifer.
Easton thought, 'Except for claiming, Jennifer has done nothing for me.'
Easton's gaze became deeper as he pressed the intercom, calling Xavier in. A few minutes later, Xavier walked in.
He flashed a pleasing smile. "Mr. Garcia, what would you like me to do?"

Easton glanced at him sideways and asked in his low and smooth voice, "Did Natalie come to the office?"
Xavier shook his head. "No, I heard she doesn't need to check in and she handles the design tasks."
Carl's clever tactics made his company the scapegoat.
Those designers' skills were really hard to describe.

Easton lowered his gaze slightly, looking dim and lifeless. "Prepare a gift. I will visit the Simpson family tonight."
Xavier paused for a moment and wondered, 'Is he going to see Jennifer? Alright, alright, he just can't let go of his dream girl!
Xavier went to get the gift ready.
Easton settled back into his luxurious office chair, lounging lazily as if he might drift off to sleep. "Ding-dong..." The phone on the table rang.
Easton sat up slightly, glanced at his phone, and eventually picked it up to check the message.
The first thing that appeared was a photo.
It was a picture of Natalie standing by the sea.
Her long hair draped over her shoulders and her smile was as bright as the sunshine in the bright sun. She wore a white dress and a few strands of hair danced in the wind because of the blowing breeze.
It was a peaceful moment where time seemed to stand still; that girl was his wife, Natalie.
There was an indescribable beauty in it.
Wesley sent another message.
Wesley: [This is Natalie. I ran into her at the beach; she's out here having fun with this guy.]
Then came a video of Natalie piggybacking on James on the beach. Natalie was laughing happily. "Brother, run faster! Waves are catching up! Look, even Valerie has run ahead of us," she said in a playful and cheerful voice, so different from her usual quiet and mature demeanor around him.
Such a lively Natalie tugged at his heart.
Wesley: [Easton, I've never seen Natalie this happy before. You should let go.]
Easton's face darkened when he saw Wesley's message.
Easton: [You have no right to meddle in my marriage.]
Wesley: [Natalie is genuinely happy. You don't love her; you love Jennifer.]
Easton's expression grew somber. He thought, 'Why does the whole world know he loves Jennifer, yet I, the person involved, am clueless?'
He ignored Wesley but landed his deep gaze on Natalie's bright and charming smile. His emotions ran deep and enigmatic.
