Chapter 3579 The Desperate Maneuver
Leopold's warning rang sternly.
However, the people of the Curia gripped their weapons and surrounded Eugene IV closely, glaring at Nathan and his companions.
It was plain that they were the most loyal followers of the Curia.
Having lost their sanity, they were blind in their fanatic adoration for Eugene IV.
They would not even bat an eye even if Eugene IV ordered them to commit murder or arson, and they would do it without a hint of hesitation.
A thought occurred to Nathan, Leopold, and Wolfric simultaneously.
These people are beyond redemption.
The God of Wars from various nations were all looking at Nathan, waiting for his command to apprehend Eugene IV.
Nathan regarded Eugene IV calmly. "It seems you would rather die than surrender."
Eugene IV had an exceptionally unpleasant look on his face.
Before he could speak, a chilling voice suddenly echoed from the entrance.
"Hah! We do not yet know who will emerge victorious until the very last moment!"
"To quote a proverb from you Aplothians, there's no knowing who will emerge victorious!"
Nathan furrowed his brow at the sound of the voice.
Leopold and Wolfric, among the others, turned pale.
Eugene IV was overjoyed upon hearing the voice. He turned to look at the newcomer, exclaiming excitedly, "Elder Morgon!"
So that's who he is.
The one who entered was none other than the Great Elder of the Gods, Morgon.
He was flanked by several powerful Gods.
Outside the large tent stood even more God Warriors. Densely packed, they likely numbered in the hundreds.
Beyond that, there were throngs of red-robed cardinals, the Holy Guardians of the Curia, the War Gods of the Light, and countless Holy Knights.
The God Warriors, along with the servants of the Curia, have completely surrounded the large tent, leaving no room for escape.
At that moment, Nathan and the human Gods of War realized that they were surrounded by the Curia's forces.
Many of them turned pale.
They had come to discuss dealing with the vampires with Eugene IV never imagining that he would turn out to be a traitor to humanity, let alone that things would escalate to this point. en FindNovel
Only Nathan remained as calm as ever.
He shot Morgon an indifferent glance. "You again," he remarked coolly.
Among the numerous human warriors present, only Nathan caught Morgon's eye.
"That's right, it's me again," he responded with a smirk.
"We didn't manage to conclude our battle the other day, so today is a perfect opportunity to resume it. It's time to see who will fall in the hands of the other once and for all."
Nathan stood with his hands behind
his back. "If it weren't for your many subordinates and my urgency to fight my way during our battle several days ago, I could have easily killed you before leaving," he said, his voice icy. "Having your wretched life spared then, you should have left Earth and fled back to your Divine Realm. It's a pity you missed your chance. Today, your life ends here."
Morgon chuckled lightly. "Such arrogant talk Behind me stand hundreds of God Warriors, along with a hundred thousand troops
from the Curia. You are complete
surrounded. Even if you have stationed a million troops in this region, you'll still be reduced to ashes if you can't hold out until your backup arrives."
Upon hearing this, the expressions of Leopold, Wolfric, and the others turned ashen.
After exchanging glances, they activated their emergency distress signals.
Even the captains of some of the Gods of War's National Guards produced their flare guns and fired four military flares into the sky outside the window.
In an instant, numerous flares exploded in the sky.
The troops from various countries in the region not only saw the signal flares in the distant sky but also received various urgent calls for help.
At that moment, the troops realized that their Gods of War had met with trouble in the large camp of the Curia army.
The troops, both shocked and angered, leaped into formation and began heading toward the direction of the Curia camp.
However, they could not possibly get there in time.
"Have your Curia warriors ready for the attack," Morgon instructed Eugene IV calmly. "Wipe out these human Gods of War."
"At once!" Eugene IV replied hastily.
As soon as he spoke, he dashed out of the tent and rallied the troops of the Curia outside. Then, he issued an order to annihilate all the human Gods of War present.
The Holy Warriors were taken aback when they heard Eugene IV issuing such a command.
But after repeated confirmations, they had ascertained that it was indeed the pope who ordered them to annihilate the Gods of War of all nations.
Only then did they muster up the courage to act.
"For the pope! For glory! Onward!"
The fervent believers and the mad Curia warriors surged toward the grand tent like a tidal wave.
