Salute To The General

Chapter 3588 The Vanguard

At that moment, the group of paladins led by Oleg, who had stopped the executioners, knelt on one knee before Medille.

"Your Majesty! Grand Admiral Gulliver only proposed such a suggestion because of his concerns. He certainly did not back down in the face of battle! He is certainly not one who fears death or clings to life. Just think about it, Your Majesty, Grand Admiral Gulliver has spent half his life in the military, participating in numerous battles. In which campaign has he not been at the forefront, achieving glorious military victories? With all due respect, I humbly implore Your Majesty to grant Grand Admiral Gulliver an opportunity to redeem himself." The God Paladins at the scene also knelt down one after another, pleading for Gulliver. "We beseech Your Majesty, please grant Grand Admiral Gulliver the chance to redeem himself."

Medille's face turned gloomy.

Gazing coldly at the subordinates before him, he also looked at the standing Gulliver.

In the end, he had no choice but to yield, slowly saying, "In consideration of your pleas for him, I will stay his capital offense for now. However, If he does not cherish this opportunity, or is unable to complete the task I have assigned to him, he will still be punished and none of your pleas will be able to save his life."

Upon hearing this, Oleg's face lit up with sheer joy. "Thank you, Your Majesty!"

After he finished speaking, he quickly tugged at Gulliver and whispered, "Grand Admiral Gulliver, kneel down and thank His Majesty for his grace."

The Gods present at the scene were all looking at Gulliver.

Medille also looked at Gulliver coldly.

Gulliver actually wanted to stick to his suggestion of retreating, but he knew that if he continued to insist on it and contradict the God King, the latter King would definitely not tolerate his disobedience. Even if his comrades pleaded for him, it probably wouldn't save him. Left without a choice, he finally knelt down heavily, lowering his head. "Thank you for your mercy, Your Majesty."

With an expressionless face, Medille said, "Don't get ahead of yourself. Whether you can keep your head or not depends on your ability to seize the opportunity. This time, I am determined to invade Earth, to slay Nathan, and to avenge Elder Morgon. You will lead the vanguard and be the first to descend upon Earth, paving the way for the Gods. If you can redeem yourself by taking Nathan's head, you'll then be forgiven. Are you willing to accept the task?" Gulliver gritted his teeth. "Your wish is my command!"

Medille nodded. "Very good. Choose a group of elite warriors and descend upon Earth. I'll be waiting for news of you slaying Nathan."

As Medille spoke, he glanced at Oleg standing before him and casually suggested, "Oleg possesses courage that's unmatched. Grand Admiral Gulliver, why don't you take Oleg with you?" Upon hearing that, Gulliver's expression subtly changed, his gaze on Medille filled with complexity.

With a solemn tone, Oleg affirmed, "I am ready to accompany Grand Admiral Gulliver to Earth and avenge Elder Morgon."

Seeming a little tired, Medille waved his hand. "Off you go!"

Gulliver and Oleg excused themselves and left.

After stepping out of the ship's bridge, Gulliver, feeling guilty, said to Oleg, "My friend, I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

Oleg chuckled. "Grand Admiral

Gulliver, what are you talking about?

I'll go to Earth with you, and we'll

give it a shot. Who knows, we might actually emerge victorious by killing Nathan and avenging Elder Morgon."

Gulliver shook his head, his expression heavy with concern. "You're too naive," he said. "His Majesty's decision to send me to Earth as the vanguard isn't as straightforward as you think."

He felt that the God King's decision for him to lead the vanguard and bring Oleg along was not as simple as it seemed.

Perhaps His Majesty has grown to resent me. He knows he can't kill me, so he plans to use the earthlings to kill me and Oleg.

Oleg grinned, saying, "Hehe, Grand Admiral Gulliver, do you think I didn't see through it? So what if the God King has such intentions? On this journey, we are not concerned with life or death. Even if we are to die, we shall die a glorious and worthy death."

Upon hearing that, Gulliver looked at Oleg in astonishment, seeing this brave warrior in a new light. Beneath Oleg's rugged exterior was a heart that, at that moment, seemed to understand everything! Oleg's purity of heart was so rare that it deepened Gulliver's respect for him.

At the same time, Oleg's optimism also rubbed off him.

His spirits lifted, he laughed heartily and said, "You're absolutely right! This time, we're heading to Earth with one mission-to slay Nathan and achieve a victory so astounding that even His Majesty will be left speechless. Either that or we die a glorious death! If we were all to die, I reckon the God King would finally come to his senses. Recognizing the strength of the earthlings, he would wisely choose to retreat and save everyone from the brink of disaster. If that's the case, we can then say we died a worthy death."

Oleg laughed heartily and said, "So, regardless of life or death, our journey will forever be etched in the annals of Gods."
