Chapter 7 The Legend in the Hacking World
When they got to the spot, Alexander's eyes practically burned as he watched Allison step out of the car.
"Mr. Carter, are you really into Ms. Bennett? There are better ways to win a girl over, but your attitude is just gonna push her away," James said, trying to be helpful, but Alexander just shot him a glare. Alexander demanded, "Keep driving!"
Allison's phone rang the moment she got out of the car, but she ignored it when she saw who was calling.
She was in a foul mood and didn't want to deal with this person, but they were relentless, calling over ten times without giving up.
With her head pounding, Allison finally picked up. "This better be important, or you're getting blocked!"
The caller didn't seem bothered by her threat. "Allison, you're young but got quite the temper. Heard you went to Skycrest?"
"Spit it out!" Allison snapped.
The caller chuckled, "Got a job for you. Interested?" Knowing Allison's temperament, they didn't drag it out.
"Not interested!" Allison shot back. As the top hacker for Genesis Creations, she only took jobs when she felt like it.
"But this one's big. It's about the Carter Group's financials. Some organization is targeting their treasury, planning to use the company's overseas listing to get the key!" Cleo remarked.
Cleo, Allison's partner, wasted no time informing her as soon as they landed the job. This was the exact kind of challenge that fueled Allison's passion.
Allison'd just met Alexander, and now a job involving the Carter Group popped up-coincidence?
"Send me the details!"
That meant she was in. Cleo quickly sent over the info.
Meanwhile, at the Carter Group, someone burst into Alexander's office, all excited.
"Mr. Carter, Gaia's back!" Mason was practically bouncing.
Gaia was his idol. After being silent for over half a year, Gaia had finally resurfaced. Just the thought of it was thrilling!
"Get everyone on it and track Gaia. I want to know who this Gaia really is!" Alexander ordered.
In the hacking world, Gaia was a legend. Every job they took on was a success. They knew nothing about Gaia. It was like they appeared out of nowhere.
But for the Carter Group, someone like Gaia was a solid line of defense, and Alexander was eager to find them.
Allison went through all the info Cleo sent. The group targeting the Carter Group's treasury wasn't small-time. Going after such a big target took guts.
If the firewall got breached, not just the treasury but all confidential files and user data of the Carter Group would be at risk. For the attackers, it was a goldmine.
After deleting all the reviewed info, Allison headed into the Bennett Villa. As soon as she walked in, she saw Blair lounging on the sofa.
Blair said, "Allison, now that you're at Willowbrook High, you need to study hard and drop your bad habits. If you have any questions, ask Yasmin since you're both at the same school!"
Even though Blair didn't like Allison, she was still her daughter. Plus, if Allison caused trouble at school, Yasmin would get flak too.
"Mom, don't worry. I'll keep an eye on Allison at school! She'll learn from her mistakes!" Yasmin had spent five years ruining Allison's reputation and was confident she could drive her out of Skycrest and the Bennett Villa again in another five. Allison, however, couldn't care less about their fake concern.
"Yasmin, your acting skills are getting better and better. You should be in showbiz! But since when do you get to manage my life? Who do you think you are?" Allison didn't even bother looking at them and headed upstairs. Blair was livid, her hand shaking as she pointed at Allison. "Allison, what kind of attitude is that? If it weren't for you, would the Bennett Family be a laughingstock? You still haven't learned your lesson; you're impossible!"

Yasmin chimed in, "Mom, don't blame Allison. It's my fault for not being a good sister. Don't worry, I'll keep a close eye on her and make sure she doesn't cause any trouble!" "You're too kind-hearted, but Allison doesn't appreciate it! I'm just worried she'll ruin your reputation!" Blair said.
Yasmin was set to marry into a wealthy family, and Blair had been searching for the perfect match for her. If Allison messed it up, Blair would be furious.
Allison couldn't care less about the two downstairs and went straight to her room, pulling out her laptop from her suitcase.
The laptop looked ordinary, but it booted up incredibly fast, taking just a few seconds to start and pop up several windows. This was a custom-modified laptop, one of a kind. Soon, the computer interface changed, and Allison typed out a series of codes. "So it's him!"
The attacker had hit resistance, and after a few rounds of back-and-forth, Allison recognized the familiar technique.
With a smirk, Allison's fingers flew over the keyboard. "Bold move. Let's see what you've got!" she murmured.
Gaia always struck, fast, fierce, and precise.
Allison's fingers danced on the keyboard, sending out strings of code, blocking every attack. Meanwhile, in a villa somewhere abroad, someone was also intensely focused on a cyber attack. "How's it going? Did you get the data?" the person in charge asked anxiously.
With over a dozen hackers working together, they thought it would be foolproof, but unfortunately...
"Someone's counter-attacking us and launching a counter-offensive!"

A group of people frantically tried to fend off the counter-attack. They were the attackers, but now their own base was about to be breached. The feeling was maddening. "Damn it, the rear defense line has been breached. Quick, fix it!"
But it was too late. In moments, the entire network system plunged into darkness, and all the computer screens went black, leaving everyone dumbfounded. "What happened? Why are all the screens black? What's going on?" The person in charge roared, but the team was helpless.
"We've been counter-attacked. The firewall has been breached, and now the entire network system has collapsed. All our confidential files have been stolen!" Watching the data being stolen and being powerless to stop it was infuriating.
Suddenly, the black screens came to life, showing a blue bird hopping around. Someone was so angry they smashed their computer on the spot.
"Genesis Creations again! No one in this world can match me except that damn blue bird!" The man stared at the screen, wishing he could drag the person on the other end out and tear them apart, but in the end, he had lost. "The company has already called. We need to get the network back up immediately!" The person in charge was losing it.
The person at the computer was even more furious. "Damn blue bird, just wait. I'll find you!"
Allison had already sent all the obtained data to Cleo and erased all her traces. Even if they attempted to track her, they would come up empty-handed.
The whole process took just an hour to defeat the opponent.
Soon, Cleo called, "I knew it, there's nothing you can't handle! That counter-attack was brilliant! You truly are a legend in the hacking world!"
Allison showed no emotion at Cleo's praise and said, "Transfer the money to the usual account. I'll be off the grid for a while. That's all." Before Cleo could finish, Allison hung up.
