The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel)

Chapter 267: Rumors in the company

According to the post, she tried to climb into her future brother in laws' bed and was caught by her family. Her grandmother was so angry, that she threw her out. But, she spread rumor about her cousin in jealousy, trying to destroy her marriage and her father's company, her grandmother went to talk to her, but she had her taken away by the police. The stress of running around and being taken to the police station weighed on the old woman that she ended up in the emergency room and is currently bedridden. She called the police? She was afraid of the police, why would she call them? These were just made up lies. Even when she had communicated with the police, she had did it through her lawyer or by an anonymous tip.

"That old woman is in the hospital?" Hazel caught the last bit and asked with a pleased smile. She hurriedly took out her phone and called Old Madam Greyson.

"You bitch!" the old woman's voice spilled from the phone the moment she picked her call, "you still have the cheek to call me after insulting me a moment ago? Have you decided to stop being stupid and come home?" she screamed.

"It seems you are well, old woman. For a moment I thought I was lucky and I had talked you to an early grave," Hazel said in disappointment. Her words, made the entire office freeze. So she was not sick and it was just slander, meaning the other things could be a lie too. But what was with the way Hazel spoke to her grandmother?

"You dare curse at me!"

"It is not that I cursed at you, someone else did. They said you are in the hospital and I thought that I should call. Even though I did not think it was possible, after all, hell is never quick to take back its demons, I still thought I may be lucky. Maybe you are actually sick. If so, how can I miss this opportunity to see if I can send you to your maker faster," Hazel's words shocked the office, talk more her grandmother on the other end of the call.

"I knew you did not wish me well,"

"It is not if I wish you well or if I will let your family go. Maybe you think I have been to nice that is why you are not restricting that brainless granddaughter of yours. That mobile brothel house of a granddaughter you have, has had rumors about me spread in my office. And before you say that I had spread rumors about her, I will remind you that the police arrested her for sex trafficking people's children. I did nothing to her. It seems she can still arrange things like this in jail. Alright. Since you are not dead, wait for a letter from my lawyer," Hazel sneered and ended the call. Then her cold eyes descended on Lucy who was about to leave, causing her to shiver. She never thought that there would ever be a day when Hazel would make her shiver.

"I hope those words you had just said, you can defend it in court," Hazel asked with a cold look in her eyes.

"What do you mean, I only told you what I saw on the forum. Don't blame people randomly," she said and hurried away. Hazel got up and walked out of the office. The moment she left the entire office descended into discussions. They mostly were curious about Hazel's reaction.

"It seems there is some bad blood between herself and her grandmother," someone said.

"I swear it is an inside job. After all, how can outsiders easily post on the company forum?" another said.

"Is that what you heard? I heard sex trafficking?" another said

Hazel soon walked out of the elevator on the floor of the human resources floor. When she walked in, very few recognized her from the pictures on the forum as she made her way to the office of the head of department. She knocked and was let in. When she arrived, the head of department happened to be one of the few people who recognized her.

"You are?" he still asked despite guessing why she was there.

"Sir, someone had released information about me with photos on the forum. I would like the company to take it down," she said and the head of human resources raised a brow at her request.

"It is not as though this can't be done, but the order has to come much higher," the middle aged man said. Hazel was not sure if this was a lie. She just knew that she needed to have it taken down.

"I, as the person posted on the forum is asking for it to be taken down. If Human resources cannot do this, I will file a report with the police to have it taken down," Hazel said. She may not understand how company policy worked with situations like this, but she knew that the police can take it down. At her words, the man sat up straighter.

"You know you work here, right?" he asked.

"Of course, sir," she answered.

"How can a small assistant team leader be this willful. Are you not worried about your career?" he asked in amusement. He did not in anyway believe that she would make such a career killing move.

"So, you know who I am, sir. I don't recall informing you that I am an assistant team leader," she said and he paused and reached for what seemed to be a cup of coffee on his desk and took a sip.

"You will not kill you career for such a thing, right?" he asked, ignoring her question.

"Why don't you just lay low for a while? After the novelty is gone, people will naturally move on to other things," he said. He was not someone to interfere to much with the forum. It was one of the most interesting parts of the company.

"Is this company policy, sir?" Hazel asked.

"Yes, it is the way we do things and have been doing things for a while now," he answered, taking another sip of his coffee.

"I see..." she said and stalked out of

his office in anger. He was somewhat right. She was not the kind of person to burn her career with this action. But she had thought it through. She was definitely the kind of person to burn other people's careers away. For some reason, she was unwilling to take anything lying down. Hazel did not understand, but all the stress of the past few weeks had accumulated till she was at a stage where she wanted to burn

everything down.

He was right, she was not the kind to throw away her career, but he did not factor in that her temper was bad these days. She took out her phone dialed the number Marcus had given her.

The head of human resources could not believe that she actually called the police. When the police walked into the department after her, he waked out of his office, and gave her an incredulous look. "You actually called the police to the company?" he asked.

"Not only that, I want to know exactly who released the information, so that I might sue them," she said, stepping out of the way for the two police officers to do their work.

"We got a complaint about the

release of personal information on your company's internet. Since the victim has made a complaint, you will have to let us over see this
