Chapter 1541
Of course, no matter who it was or how handsome, another person's boyfriend was of no interest to her.
"Don't even think about it."
"Chill! I already promised to plan the wedding with you. No need to get all jealous."
Felicity stepped out of the car and took the initiative to link her arm with his. "Langston, where are we going to live after we get married? In that bachelor pad of yours?"
"It's a bit far, but it's really up to you. We can always buy a new place if you'd like."
Miles thought his place was too much of a bachelor's fortress, not really fit for a newlywed's nest.
"I was thinking about that villa my dad got a while back. It's pretty nice, and not too far from your office. Shall we take a look?"
"No way." Miles was quick to reject, "Our marital home can't be a gift from Mr. Turner!"
He was not without means, after all. It wouldn't be right to have the bride's side provide the house.
"Ugh!" Felicity pouted, "My dad has so many properties, he wouldn't miss one. It's just sitting there empty anyway."
Between the Lopez and the Turner families, a villa wouldn't cause any discomfort.
But Miles stood his ground.
"If you really like it there, I could buy it from Mr. Turner."
"You" She was at a loss for words, only managing a sigh. "You really are a stickler for tradition! Not even Mr. Lopez or Ms. Sanchez are as old-fashioned as you. Who did you take after?"
...
Planning a wedding, as it turned out, was a Herculean task!
Especially since Felicity wanted it to be perfect, a once-in-a-lifetime event!
So...
After finally settling on a place, she went back and forth over the decoration plans more than a dozen times. Choosing a wedding planner wasn't easy either; finding someone who truly understood her vision was tough.
Even with Miles's help, there was only so much practical advice he could offer as a guy, aside from footing the bill. Now, to make things easier, she had moved some of her clothes into Miles's place.
If it got too late, Felicity would just stay over.
Karen had no objections whatsoever! Only Jeffrey would tearfully lament about not wanting to give his daughter away. After a long day...
By the time she returned home with Miles, Felicity was too exhausted to even speak!
"Ah...why am I getting married..."
Hearing this, Miles quickly came over with a cup of warm water, offering it with care. "If you're too tired, we could hire a professional to take care of everything, you know?"
This was something they could easily delegate.
He was worried that the stress might
bet
ake Felicity reconsider the
whole marriage thing... It was fotally something she might do...
"No, I only get to marry once in my life. I want to savor this pre-wedding feeling." She took a sip of the warm water. "Do you have anything on tomorrow?"
Though Miles had handed off most of his work to Everett, there were still some details he needed to oversee personally, as Everett wasn't fully up to speed on every project.
"Nothing major. If anything comes up, my dad can handle it."
"So...shall we go look at wedding dresses tomorrow?" Felicity wiggled her finger. "And maybe pick out our rings too."
It was a step they had to take sooner or later.
Since there was nothing particularly pressing tomorrow, why not?
