Chapter 354
Chapter 354
Madison waved her hand, and the iron chains snapped apart, causing the naked man to crash to the ground with a thud. His fall stirred up a cloud of dust.
She stepped closer, bent slightly, and brushed aside the long, dark hair covering the man's face.
Though she had already anticipated the answer, Madison's hand hesitated for a moment upon seeing the man's features.
"Raymond," she whispered softly, her voice barely above a breath.
She whispered his name softly before letting her hand drop, allowing the hair to fall back over his face.
The system chimed in, sounding uneasy, "Should we do something? He doesn't seem very friendly!"
Taking a deep breath, Madison replied, "He has a natural spiritual body. Malcolm found him and used his blood to replenish his spiritual energy. But why is someone from the other world here? Especially him."
The system continued awkwardly, "I told you! To travel between two worlds, you need an immense amount of energy. At least, ordinary cultivators can't manage it. Even freshly ascended gods wouldn't be able to provide that kind of energy." Suddenly, the man on the ground let out a faint groan of pain.
Madison glanced at the broken chains. These weren't ordinary shackles; they were spirit-binding chains specifically designed to trap cultivators.
Raymond slowly sat up, his black hair cascading down as blood still seeped from the wound in his chest. Yet he appeared oblivious to his injuries. His amber eyes were clear and innocent as they locked onto Madison. Those eyes were as pure as a newborn's. Madison quietly observed Raymond, her brows furrowing slightly. "Raymond?"
Half-sitting, he lowered his gaze, his long lashes casting shadows over his emotions. His idle hand twitched slightly, betraying his unease and wariness. "Are you really Raymond?" Madison asked, incredulous.
She had known Raymond for years and had never seen such an unblemished expression on the calculating man. It was as if two souls shared one guise. But this soul, body, and vibe-everything about him was distinctly Raymond.
As if he had heard her thoughts, Raymond suddenly lifted his gaze and raised his hand. A surge of spiritual energy flowed from his fingertips into Madison's body. Frowning, Madison stepped closer, pinching his forehead with two fingers. "Didn't I tell you not to display your innate spiritual energy so freely? Do you want to be treated like a power bank?"
In the other world, she had never relied on Raymond's natural spiritual body. She had her own principles. Her spiritual energy and cultivation came solely from her efforts.
Raymond looked at her, bewildered. His silky black hair cascaded down from his shoulders to his chest, stained with blood from the wound in his chest.
Madison straightened up, and Raymond's eyes widened as he caught sight of the Quellblade at her waist. His once clear gaze was now ignited with murderous intent. He lunged at Madison, attempting to snatch the Quellblade from her.
Madison stepped back, slapping a talisman onto his forehead. "Now, this feels like Raymond. This is truly Raymond."
Raymond's eyes turned crimson, fixated on the Quellblade.
Madison rubbed the hilt of the sword. "If you still have your memories, you should know this is my sword."
"It's called Quellblade," Raymond said, his voice filled with intensity.
"I named it," Madison replied, her gaze steady as she looked at him.
Raymond remained silent, his gaze shifting from the Quellblade to Madison's face.
Madison questioned, "I'm just reclaiming what's mine."
Raymond remained silent, his expression unreadable.
"Will you come with me?" Madison asked, her voice firm yet inviting.
Raymond said nothing.
"If you want to come, I'll take you. But if you don't want to..." Madison continued, leaving the sentence hanging in the air.
