Chapter 2055
Soon, Frank used up the loan quota, turned off his phone, and said, "Now, we wait."
Whitney pouted. "Well, this is just so much trouble!"
"It is, but hard work always pays off!" Frank shrugged. "Come on. Let's head over to Mr. Chand's shack-I'm sure those thugs are going to harass him again."
-
Soon, they arrived at the alley outside Miles' house and saw that the thugs from yesterday were there again!
They learned their lesson this time, however, and turned to leave without another word when they saw Frank.
Frank chuckled in wry amusement, but before he could turn and follow, a man who towered over six feet and looked as tough as an ox strode down the alley.
The fearsome glare on his face intimidated Whitney right then.
"That's him, Jayce! That's the sugar baby!"
"He looks scrawny, but he can really fight!"
The thugs quickly hovered around Jayce, telling him repeatedly how horrifying Frank was.
Jayce merely chuckled coolly. "Fight my ass. Just watch me teach him a lesson!"
While the thugs were all laughing and nodding. "Exactly, Jayce! No one in a hundred miles could beat you!"
As Jayce paused, one of the thugs with him strode up, saying, "Listen well, brat! This man is Jayce Stather, and they call him the next Bruce Lee! Know your place and bow to us, or he'll fuck you up!" However, Jayce shoved the thug, leaving him trading glances with the other thugs.
Rolling his eyes impatiently, Jayce glared at the thugs and barked, "Go!"
The thugs naturally had no choice but to charge at Frank and dispatch in the blink of an eye.
As they lay around the ground and groaned in pain, Jayce laughed instead of getting upset. "Those brats were not exaggerating-I guess I got the right place. Come, give me a good fight!" "Just fight already. Why talk so much?"
Even as Jayce beckoned challengingly at Frank and laughed, there was a flash before he could even attack.
At the next instant, he was shoved deep inside the wall and left writhing in agony!
The thugs and Whitney were all left stunned that was a grown man weighing over two hundred pounds, but Frank dispatched him instantly!
Frank was chuckling in turn at the thugs. "You really should bring everyone you have and come at me all at once. Let's settle this... tomorrow!"
None of the thugs dared to respond. Those who could move stood up, pulled Jayce out of the wall, and fled.
Frank snorted coolly and led Whitney into Miles' house.
The old man had come outside when he heard the commotion and hurried to Frank, "Thank you so much, my boy. But I have nothing to give you... How am I supposed to repay you when you keep helping me?"
"It's fine. It's really no big deal."
Frank smiled and waved him off. "But if you don't mind, can I ask if you have a way to reach your son? I'm sure that would help move things along."
Miles sighed. "I would have contacted him if I could. He's terrible but he's still my son and I hope he'll come home. We could at least face this together, instead of having him live outside."
As tears welled up in Miles' old eyes, Whitney sighed. "It's really tough being a parent."
After offering some kind words for the old man, Whitney and Frank started to return to Whitney's mansion.
Along the way, several vans came to a screeching halt nearby, intercepting them.
As the door opened, several muscular goons alighted, led by a greasy-faced middle-aged man with a cheap suit named Bojo.
Twirling what hairs he had left, he chuckled coolly. "You're the one meddling in our business, huh?"
A thug limped out from behind a van. "Yes, boss! That's him! We didn't even see him move, but he managed to throw Jayce into a wall!" Nonetheless, Bojo shoved the thug aside and snorted. "Ain't no way that happened."
