Chapter 2072
Frank nodded. "Nice to meet you."
"Well, I'm going to keep drinking. Make yourself at home!" Linda nodded cheerfully and chugged her glass once more.
While Frank followed suit, the tall lady in red from earlier came up as well. "Hello, Mr. Frankton. I'm Nora Frankton-guess we share a last name!" "Hello!"
As Nora raised her glass with clear intent as well, Frank finally understood these women were going to keep toasting him and get him drunk! Still, he answered the challenge nonetheless, undaunted.
These ladies were definitely better drinkers than the rest, but that was all there was to it-he really doubted that they could get him drunk.
Even as other staff members arrived, Frank had been pressed into finishing two whole bottles of rum in under fifteen minutes!
For their part, the PR ladies were mentally prepared, knowing that Frank was well-connected since he was airdropped as a manager of the department.
It went without saying that they were all shocked to see Frank perfectly fine after all that liquor, even functioning like he was perfectly normal!
"You really have the stomach for alcohol! Color us impressed!"
"Don't just be impressed! Come on, drink up!"
Frank was not allowing time for a breather, toasting when they started to slow down.
He had a plan in mind to assert his dominance during their first meeting.
How else was he going to hold his head high in the office otherwise?
Still, as Frank pressed his advantage, the PR ladies began to come up with excuses after Linda's three toasts earlier, that was over twelve ounces of alcohol in their stomach. While they would not necessarily start throwing up at another shot, they definitely would have a hard time from there.
And as their de facto leader, Linda strode up and said, "It makes no sense to keep drinking, Mr. Frankton. Why don't we play some games instead?"
"Games? But shouldn't I return everyone's favor after such a warm welcome? It'd be rude otherwise!"
Frank's reasoning was sound, and the ladies had no excuses despite specializing in socializing.
Since they had no choice, they just had to take this head on!
They were certainly not worried that Frank would take advantage of them, not when they might be the one getting the better end of the bargain... Either way, some of them were already tapping out after Frank basically drank with most of them.
And remembering how they had
teased him when he arrived, Frank decided to return the favor. "That won't do. We agreed that we're.
yout
going to have fun tonight, and
all dropping after just a few shots?"
Linda smiled. "You're kidding. We may be frequent drinkers, but we're not lying when we're saying that you're the best drinker we've ever seen!"
In fact, there were several empty
bottles placed in front of Frank-it was said that there were those who
could drink alcohol like it was water, but now they had really met One!
Moreover, Frank was no different than when he arrived and certainly did not look like a drunk man!
And Linda could earnestly admit that she-no, everyone in the department would not win even if they worked together to beat the new kid on the block.
As such, to stay sober and prevent Frank from belittling her, she switched her tactics!
"Everyone's going to be floored if we keep continuing, Mr. Frankton. Why don't we play some games instead?"
"Alright, what are we playing?"
"Cards, specifically 'Do You Yield!' It's simple-everyone gets three cards and one of the players plays as the dealer. The maximum bet is three shots and on each round, the dealer will ask the player if they yield.
QUMS
"If they yield, they drink up right away. If they don't, it's a showdown. It's either that or drinking a shot, and if the dealer wins, it's six shots for the player. Understand?"
Frank was left utterly confused, so Linda shrugged. "Oh, you'll get it soon enough."
