Chapter 92
Chapter 8
Surprisingly, Alice was the first to react:
"He's not a bastard at all! Dad, you've ruined me! I've already...
already..."
Mr. White froze mid-action, trembling as he collapsed onto the ground. He stared at us, disbelief etched into his expression.
The White family wanted future wealth and status.
Ethan wanted immediate wealth and status.
It was truly a case of a scoundrel meeting their perfect match.
Ethan's lips quivered as he stammered, "Mr. Smith.. Mr. Smith, so i I was you helping me all along.."
My father, furious, snapped, "You don't deserve to call me that!"
The company secretary sneered, "What did you think? That your small, insignificant company went public all on its own in such a short time?"
Ethan dropped to his knees, pleading, "I. I truly didn't know better!"
Seeing that my father remained unresponsive, Ethan turned to me instead, crawling closer on his knees.
"Mia! Little Mia! I swear, I have nothing to do with that woman!
No, no, it was just that one time when you left, I was so angry, I lost my mind..."
"Forgive me. After all these years, haven't you always wanted to marry me? We'll do it as soon as we get back! No, no, we'll do it right now! Whenever you say the word!"
His desperate, frantic shouting grated on my nerves.
By now, his colleagues had snapped out of their shock and crowded around. Their voices grew louder and more chaotic:
"So, Mia is Mr. Smith's daughter!"
"No wonder! Our company was destined for greatness- until Alice White ruined everything!"
"You're such a disgrace!"
They lunged at Alice, grabbing her arm viciously. Like a pack of wolves scenting blood, they unleashed their anger with unrelenting ferocity. Alice struggled, twisting and turning to escape, but she was no match for their wrath. I took my father's arm and led him away toward the venue.
Through the layers of bodyguards, their chaotic voices faded into the distance.
What happened to these people no longer mattered to me.
And I never wanted to see any of them again.
