The Unshackled Queen: Never Say Never

Chapter 1961

Upon arriving at the doctor’s office, Dilan confidently knocked on the already ajar door.

“Come in,” came the invitation from inside.

Dilan led Hannah in, announcing to the occupant, “Dr.

Burton, my lady has some questions for you.”

Dr.

Burton, a young practitioner focused on his work, looked up from his documents upon hearing Dilan.

Adjusting his gold-rimmed glasses, he acknowledged Hannah’s presence with a surprised pause, then gestured towards two vacant chairs across his desk.

“Please, sit down.”

“Thank you,” Hannah responded as she seated herself.

She then began, “I’ve reviewed the test report and I don’t believe this was a case of poisoning.

It seems more like an accidental overdose of restricted medication.

We suspect a few drugs but will need the hospital’s cooperation to confirm.”

Dr.

Burton, perusing the report, looked up inquisitively.

“Are you also trained in medicine?”

..

Library

“Yes,” Hannah confirmed.

“That explains your insight,” Dr.

Burton acknowledged, nodding.

“I had appended a handwritten note to this file previously, but it was retracted by the hospital administration.

Given your background, I can retrieve that for you.”

He then opened his drawer and presented the handwritten report to Hannah.

Hannah perused the report meticulously.

She concurred with Dr Burton’s conclusions.

Dr.

Burton had noted a specific unauthorized medication, suspected to have been administered either through overdose or injection.

He explained, “When I raised this suspicion initially, the hospital adjudged it an incorrect assessment.

They considered it merely hypothetical, not substantial enough for inclusion in the official report.”

He gave a resigned shrug.

“I didn’t anticipate you’d be so well- informed.

Your conclusions align with mine, which is why I felt compelled to share this report with you.”

“Even though it may not align with the medication you referred to, Dr.

Burton, I place greater trust in your judgment,” Hannah responded, looking up from the report.

“I believe it resembles another instance of unauthorized medication overdose,” she added.

“Could you assist in investigating this further, Dr.

Burton? If we can pinpoint the exact cause, there might still be a chance to save my father.”

Removing his glasses and pinching the bridge of his nose thoughtfully, Dr.

Burton asked, “Are you related to the patient?”

The ward fell into a brief silence.

Hannah’s response was detached yet straightforward.

“I am his daughter.

I returned as soon as I became aware of his condition.”

Dr.

Burton’s tone carried a hint of caution.

“The drugs you mention are restricted within this hospital.

Assuming we identify them as the cause, do you have the means to procure any necessary specialized treatment?”

Hannah nodded.

“If you can confirm it, I can make a special medicine.”

Dr.

Burton hesitated, surprised by Hannah’s confidence, but nodded in agreement.

“I’ll take care of it.

Don’t worry.”

Dotson had been waiting for Hannah’s return and quickly greeted her, “How did it go, Boss?”

“I asked Dr.

Burton for help.

We should have the results soon.

Since this isn’t our hospital, it’s difficult for me to administer medication here freely.”
