The Unshackled Queen: Never Say Never

Chapter 1964

Dr.

Burton, wearing his usual gold-rimmed glasses, stood there.

“Miss Moore, could we talk in private?”

“Alright,” Hannah said, pushed herself out of bed, and made her way to the door.

“I’m going with you,” Keith insisted, a hint of anxiety in his voice.

“Dr.

Burton wants to speak with me alone.

You should stay in the ward and get some rest,” Hannah said firmly and left with Dr.

Burton.

Once outside, instead of heading back to Dr.

Burton’s office, they moved towards the grassy area beside the hospital.

“Miss Moore, your suspicions were correct.

After analyzing the drug’s effects, it’s clear we’re dealing with the prohibited substance you mentioned,” Dr.

Burton said.

Hannah’s eyes narrowed.

It was clear enough now that Amelie was involved!

“But the dosage was excessive.

We can stabilize Mr.

Compton for now, but there are risks ahead.

This drug is not only illegal but also extremely damaging if consumed in large amounts.

With the current levels in Mr.

Compton’s body, his system won’t be able to break it down efficiently.”

Nodding, Hannah replied calmly, “I understand.

I’ve studied this drug before and created a tailored antidote.”

“What? You… You’ve conducted research on this?”

Dr.

Burton adjusted his glasses, clearly debating whether to ask how Hannah had come into contact with such a substance.

After all, there were many resourceful individuals in the world, and obtaining restricted drugs was not impossible.

Moreover, considering the fact that she was associated with the Compton family, Dr.

Burton wasn’t shocked.

Still, he was skeptical about her claim of having an antidote and said, “Developing a cure for such a potent and addictive substance is nearly impossible.

Are you certain you’re not mistaken, Miss Moore?”

Hannah recalled creating a small batch of drugs to suppress addiction while rescuing the women trapped by Jade Paradise.

However, those cases involved smaller doses with manageable treatments.

The formulation needed for Wallace required precise handling, or it could lead to more severe consequences.

With this in mind, Hannah pulled out her phone and showed Dr.

Burton something on the screen.

“Are you familiar with these medications?”

Dr.

Burton’s eyes widened in alarm.

“These require special authorization.

You can’t use them for unauthorized clinical tests.”

“Relax.

I won’t put you in a difficult position.

I have the means to procure the drugs and develop the necessary treatment.

I just need your approval to administer it to my father,” Hannah explained.

Dr.

Burton hesitated for a moment, then said, “Given your research, you might indeed produce an antidote.

But if you really want to administer it, I must file a report.

However, as a doctor, you’re aware that without proper clinical testing, the results will be uncertain.”

Swallowing hard, he continued firmly, “You will have to sign a waiver.

If complications arise, you will bear the responsibility.”

“I appreciate your concern, Dr.

Burton.

I know what I’m doing,”

Hannah said.
