"It's you?" Leia's eyes went wide.

She looked at the man before her in surprise. Everything happened so suddenly, making her seriously doubt if it was her illusion before she got killed.

It was none other than Xavier, her only regret before she died.

"Yes, it's me!"

Xavier hugged Leia, feeling sorry for her. He kissed her lips, which had gone pale because of her fear. He kept kissing her as if he had finally found the treasure that he had lost. Surprise and sadness overcame him.

"Luckily, I came in time. You're still alive... I'm sorry to have made you suffer. I'm a useless boyfriend!"

When his passion grew, he ignored the rest and kissed Lela passionately.

"Mm..." The kissing made Leia dizzy. She frowned in embarrassment and turned away. "What's going on? What are you doing here?"

"I got news that you're in trouble." Guilt gleamed in Xavier's eyes. "I should have paid more attention to you. I wasn't worried when you told me that you went on a trip with Renee. After all, she's with you. You guys would be fine. So, I got busy with my work these days and ignored you. I didn't expect... to see you get into trouble!"

"Hmph! Stop being hypocritical!"

Liam leaned against Leia because they were tied up together. He could see their passionate kissing clearly, and it grossed him out.

Every man would have objections against their brother-in-law. On top of that, Xavier was an infamous scumbag in Beach City. He boldly took advantage of Leia in front of Liam. If Liam wasn't tied up, he would have long punched Xavier.

"Mr. Osborne, your bias toward me is serious. But we aren't new acquaintances. You didn't watch your distance and always stayed close to Renee in the past. Now Lei and I are in love with each other. Our actions are more reasonable than what you did with Renee. Stop holding double standards," Xavier said rudely, tilting his head to look at Liam while hugging Leia.

"I used to hang out with Ren because we were close. I was sincere toward her, but you're different. No one knows what you think of my sister," Liam retorted.

He sized Xavier up and snorted. "You're obscene, and you look like you want to make my sister yours in front of all of us. Is there a normal guy who'd act like you?"

"I never said I'm like any other man," Xavier said boldly. "I never claimed that I was an ordinary man in front of Lei. I'm a greedy man with her. I just want to make her mine!"

"How dare you!" Liam snarled.

He had underestimated Xavier and failed to see how shameless the latter could be. His rebukes failed to hurt Xavier. On the contrary, it made Xavier feel proud of himself. He acted like others could not do anything about him.

"Let me go now! I'll make you feel my punches!" Liam couldn't hold back his urge to beat Xavier up.

"If that's the case, I can't let you go. I don't want to fight my future brother-in-law," Xavier said casually before he immediately helped to set Lela and Renee free.

"Are you alright, Renee?" Xavier observed Renee with the same amount of anxiety.

After all, she was once the woman he admired too. He still looked at her with deep emotions, but this affection was more about admiration and respect. He wouldn't violate her dignity so easily.

"I'm fine," Renee replied.
