Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas)

Chapter 635

Chapter 0635

I was utterly shocked, and at that moment, I no longer cared where Nicholas was going or what he planned to do.

I got into the car obediently and closed the door. As soon as the car departed, I gave the driver an address and told him to head to Mr. Fisher's firm.

On the way, I kept calling Yasmine, but none of my calls were answered. Initially, her phone could still be reached, but soon it was turned off. I could only urge the driver to go faster.

From the outside, Mr. Fisher's club appeared utterly unremarkable during the day-simple, even. It looked like an ordinary venue with a decent but not luxurious environment, yet the prices were evidently high.

Recently, both Neal and I had been arranging for people to gather information about the club, but true to its name, The Secret, it was incredibly elusive.

Once inside, the club didn't look much different from others. However, one peculiar detail caught my attention- while such venues usually had many male staff, this one exclusively employed women.

These women weren't as young as the rumors suggested. They were all adults.

This was my first visit to The Secret. So, my eyes scanned through everywhere, but there was no trace of Yasmine. The receptionist, seeing my slightly lost demeanor, probably thought I was some clueless bumpkin. Her attitude was cold, and she didn't even bother stepping out from behind the front desk before turning me away.

"Sorry, ma'am. The Secret opens precisely at midnight. Please come back later."

I smiled and walked up, placing my handbag on the counter with the luxury brand logo facing her. "I was referred by Leo Fisher. He asked me to come here and find him."

I exuded confidence as I pulled out my business card and handed it to her.

The receptionist finally gave me a proper look and said, "Here are our membership fees-one million for the first floor, three million for the basement first floor, six million for the basement second floor, and twelve million for the basement third floor."

I paused, quickly understanding the rules of this place. No wonder our people couldn't uncover anything.

"Is Leo on the basement third floor?" I inwardly winced at the thought of my wallet taking such a hit.

If Yasmine came here, the only person she could possibly be seeking was Leo. My goal today was simply to get her out safely-everything else could wait.

The receptionist glanced at me but didn't answer. Ultimately, I paid the six-million membership fee and followed her downstairs.

Initially, I wanted to check out the basement first floor, but the elevator was operated by an attendant who directly took us to the basement second floor. Going to the first or third floors was simply not an option.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, a staggering woman bumped into me.

The overwhelming scent of alcohol hit me head-on. I instinctively tried to push her away but froze when I saw who it was. "Ms. Gardner?"

Beth lifted her eyes, pointing a wobbly finger at me. It took her a while to recognize me. "Mrs. Hawk?"

I patted her back. "How much did you drink? Are you alright? Do you need me to call someone to take you home?"

She shook her head, her drunken gaze shifting to the person behind me. "Is that your people?"

I suddenly remembered the receptionist following me. Turning to her, I said, "I've run into an acquaintance. You don't need to follow me anymore, right?"

The receptionist smiled. "Of course. I hope you enjoy yourself."

I supported Beth into the restroom. The woman, who just moments ago had appeared utterly drunk, now looked completely sober. "Mrs. Hawk, why are you here? Does Mr. Hawk know?"

"Ms. Gardner, you were pretending?" I frowned. "I'm just here looking for someone. I'll leave once I find her. So, no need to tell him.'
