Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 733

Chapter 733

Matthew placed the document in front of Chad. "Sir, the largest shareholder is Lilith Cresswell, who has

purchased a significant amount of Killian Corporation's shares, accounting for 7.9% of the total shares. It's one -third of our issued shares."

Chad frowned. This percentage troubled him. Even many of Killian Corporation's major shareholders didn't own such a high number of shares. He didn't need Matthew to remind him that Lilith was Hera's biological mother.

How could a mere housewife have the funds to buy so many shares?

He glanced at the account registration information. The account had been opened for less than six months. Although there had been over a dozen transactions, the only shares purchased were from two companies- Chime Corporation and Killian Corporation.

Lilith bought Chime Corporation's shares when their prices hit an all-time low and sold them during the peak. It was right around the time of the Chime family scandal.

The second major investment occurred about half a month ago, when she bought Killian Corporation's shares in multiple batches, all during the company's low points.

"Is she personally operating the account?" Chad asked.

"I'll call and verify." Matthew dialed the number listed under the account's information.

The phone rang, but it was quickly hung up. Matthew called again, but it was immediately declined. Finally, after his relentless persistence, the tenth call was answered. 'You're so annoying! I'm in class right now! Is it the end of the world, or is an earthquake coming? Why are you bothering me?'

The irritable but childish voice caught Matthew off guard. He hesitated before responding, 'Is your mother Lilith Cresswell?"

"Who are you?" Gino dodged the question.

Matthew was surprised by Gino's sense of caution. "I'm with the securities firm. I'm calling to verify your account information. Is this phone number registered under your name or your mother's?"

"What securities firm are you with?" Gino shot back.

Wow, this kid was sharp for his age

Matthew reported the name of the securities firm listed on the registration information.

"You guys called me from a different number the last time. You're a scammer, aren't you?" Gino continued." I've got an anti-fraud app installed. You're not fooling me!'

With that, Gino hung up the phone and quickly reported the number.

"But I'm not a scammer... Matthew stammered as the call cut off. When he tried calling again, he found his number had been blocked.

Matthew felt Chad's gaze upon him and grew awkward. "I'll try calling from a different number-'

Chad interrupted, "No need. Look into where the money in that account came from.

Matthew had put the call on speaker, so Chad had heard Gino's comment about registering the account himself.

"Understood," Matthew replied and left the room.

Just as he exited, the marketing director and the technology director rushed in. "We have a problem, Mr. Killian!"

"The Presgrave family just released their new chip project plan," the marketing director said, handing Chad a tablet.

"What's the issue?" Chad was puzzled.

The Presgraves' company had been producing electronic products for a while but didn't have their own chip or operating system. They always relied on partnerships and were often mocked for producing second-rate products. Their desire to develop their own chip and system seemed normal.

"They've published our unpublished chip design and registered the patent ahead of us!" the technology director exclaimed.
