After I Amazed the World the Cold Alpha Regretted

Chapter AFTER I AMAZED 151

Chapter 151

The group that attacked you will be dealt with by our people once they're released from police custody. We need to be sure no one else was pulling their strings." I hesitated, unsure of what to say.

This place had proven dangerous, and I wasn't sure if staying was wise.

Leo noticed my uncertainty and leaned in closer, his hand gently cupping my cheek.

You're free to do whatever you need to," he murmured. "But no harm will come to you. I swear it. As your Alpha, it's my duty to protect you."

Hvoice was soothing, but I could feel his body inching closer to mine.

I tried to pull away, but his hand gently caught my wrist, holding me in place.

My eyes flicked to the bandage on his arm, the wound that had only recently been stitched up.

"Your wound," I said pointedly. "It doesn't hurt anymore?"

He smirked, his dark eyes locking onto mine. "It doesn't hurt when you're here. When you're gone... it aches."

I rolled my eyes, though I could feel the warmth of a blush creeping up my neck.

"If you're well enough to flirt," I muttered, "then we're leaving the hospital tomorrow."

His expression shifted, his smirk fading into something deeper, more serious.

"It's late," he said softly. "Rest now, and we'll deal with everything tomorrow."

I settled onto the small couch beside his bed, doing my best to get comfortable.

But before long, I felt the weight of another body pressing into the already narrow space.

Leo, nearly 1.9 meters tall, had decided to squeeze in beside me.

"There's no room," I protested, trying to push him back toward his bed.

He grinned, not moving an inch. "There's always room for you."

I huffed, rolling my eyes as I scooted further into the corner, trying to give us both space.

"Fine. Just don't expect me to share this couch again."

When I woke the next morning, the hospital room was bathed in soft sunlight, and I became acutely aware of a heavy arm draped over my waist. Leo was still fast asleep beside me, his body pressed close to mine.

The hospital bed was empty - clearly, he had chosen to stay by my side during the night.

It was then that I realized we weren't alone.

Standing at the foot of the couch was a grim-faced man, his eyes locked on the sight of me and Leo, tangled together in sleep.

Andrew's visit was unexpected, but not unusual.

His presence always carried an air of superiority, a demeanor that had often irked me.

Today, however, something was different.

He had come with a purpose, yet it was evident that his intentions were far from genuine concern.

The knock on the door had echoed through the ward for what seemed like an eternity before Andrew finally pushed it open. 0000000

It was as if my very presence irritated him.

I forced a smile, knowing full well how to play the game.

"I couldn't help it, Andrew. Leo wouldn't let me leave. He says seeing me eases his pain, that I'm better than any painkiller they could prescribe him You know how it is- we are "mates" after all*

Andrew's jaw tightened, but he maintained his composure.

He clearly wasn't expecting me to play along so boldly.

"But," I continued, now truly enjoying his discomfort, "it's not just the pain, you see. Leo told me I'm his talisman. He swears that the moment he's a from me, bad things happen. No wonder he's been hurt twice since I left the pack. What do you think about that? Andrew's face stiffened into a hard mask, the anger simmering just beneath his eyes.

Before he could respond, however, a rustling from behind me indicated that Leo had woken up.

His gaze immediately flicked to his father, and his expression darkened.

"Why are you here?" Leo asked, his voice cold, emotionless.
