Gamma Will

"Where are they? Nick asks as he comes to a stop beside Shane. "Robbie and Joe took them to their cells but they haven't come back yet. They are probably in the guard room." He nods and then I watch as he starts looking at us all just randomly standing around and instantly looking confused. "What's going on? I have a feeling that I have missed something." I bite back a laugh at him repeating Shane's question word for word. Those two are more alike than they will ever know.

"I asked the same thing when I got here but I think I've already figured out the answer," Shane smirks and shoots me a wink causing my shit-eating grin to once again appear. Nick gives me a questioning look but then sees my arm that's still wrapped around Sophie and I'm pretty sure that he instantly figures it out.

"Do you have something to tell us, brother?" He smiles as he asks the question but of course, the prick in the cell can't keep his mouth shut and instead has to ruin my moment. "Well, you see, Alpha Nicholas. It appears that your brother here is Scarface's second chance mate, poor bastard!"

Blood pumps through my body so hard that I feel it pound in my ears as I move Sophie to the side of me and storm toward Rowan's cell. "You have just made your death so much more painful than it needed to be! Open the mother fuckers cell so I can end him!" My roar makes the floor shake and my body. I turn to face Shane but he hasn't moved, but Nick has, and within seconds he standing in front of me. "Will, I need you to calm down, brother. I know you want to kill him and I get it, believe me, I do. I want to kill him myself for many reasons but we can't yet."

The rational side of me knows what he's saying is true but it feels almost impossible to calm myself down enough to not kill him right now and Theo isn't helping either. "Let me at him, I'll rip him apart nice and slowly!" I should tell him to calm down but I want to do the same thing and if it wasn't for the fact that we need to keep him alive longer to help protect Bonnie then I would have already set Theo on him.

I stay standing right in front of the cell door as both Nick and Shane try to calm me down enough but it's not working and I don't think anything will. That is until I feel a small soft hand on my back and instantly know that it's Sophie. "Will, I don't know what he's done but it's clear that he needs to be kept alive a little longer. Please listen to your brothers." Her voice is so soft, so fucking gentle that it makes my heart jump.

I take a deep breath before turning around so fast that we bump chests and I have to reach out and grab her hand to stop her from falling backwards. Both my brothers and that prick should be thanking my mate because she is the only person who is capable of stopping me right now. I give her a smile which she returns but I don't miss that look in her eyes, Rowan's words have gotten to her but I'm about to make sure she knows exactly what's going on here.

I link Nick telling him I need a moment before taking Sophie's hand and pulling her along behind me as I take her to a little side room that is used for storage. There are no cameras in here so we can have full privacy. The moment I close the door behind us Sophie lets go of my hand and takes a step back from me. "Gamma will. I understand your position and why you need to reject me and I just want you to know that it's okay. I won't be mad. I have survived one rejection, I'm sure I can survive another one."

I look into her eyes and the sadness in them is enough to make my heart crack. She thinks this is what I want. She thinks it's something that I need to do and she's more than willing to let me do it. She is willing to sacrifice herself and her wolf for me to be happy. Silly, silly girl. I smile at her and slowly walk towards her which causes her to walk backward until her back hits the cabinets that run along the back wall. Her eyes never leave mine as I continue to follow her and thankfully she doesn't look scared, curious of what I'm doing maybe, but not scared.

I watch as she seems to have some sort of silent conversation with herself and stay silent as she appears to come to a decision. She straightens up her back and squares out her shoulders before saying the words that have the potential to break my heart. "I Sophie Jane Knight rejec-" I cover her mouth with my hand ready to give her shit but then I see it in her eyes. She didn't want to do this, she thinks she needs to but it's not happening, no way!

I take one last step towards her then once I'm standing in front of her I quickly grip her hips lift her up and sit her on the unit. She lets out the cutest squeal in surprise and it only makes me smile. Once she's seated I place my palms down on the unit either side of her and love the fact that with her sitting up here she's now at eye level with me.

"I have a question for you?" She doesn't say a word but nods silently telling me to continue. "What do you want here? I know there's a lot to talk about and I know that this is a shock for the both of us and that we'll have a lot to figure out later but right here right now what do you want? Do you want me as your mate?"

She stays silent for a few seconds driving me crazy but then finally she starts talking making me breathe a little easier. "You're right we do have a lot to talk about because this is insane... You are a Gamma, and you do not want someone who looks like me at your side..." I cut her off with a small growl hating hearing her speak badly about herself."

"I don't want you to say what you think I want or need to hear or even what you think you should. All I want right now is for you to tell me what it is that you want from this, from us." She smiles the cutest smile that I have ever seen before giving me a little nod. "I want you as my mate. I want nothing more."

Her cheeks turn a slight shade of pink just before she looks down at her lap avoiding looking at me but I'm not having that so I hock my finger under her chin and lift her head until she has no choice but to look at me and then I lean in and place a quick gentle peek on her lips. I want to do more, so much more but I can't, not right now but I will and it's going to be so much fun.

"Thank fuck for that because I want you, Soph. I want you by my side as my mate and anyone that has a problem with that will meet my not-so-nice side." She lets out a little laugh that warms up my soul and I feel relieved when her eyes brighten and I'm pretty sure that she's finally listening to me and believing me.

"I wish that we could talk about everything right now. I wish I could do a lot of things right now but unfortunately, I have pack business I need to deal with... and some personal business now so we need to get back out there but later I promise that we will talk about it all, ok?" She gives me her beautiful smile and I can't resist sneaking another kiss from her before I help her off the unit and take her hand in mind.

I don't know what's going on or why I am Sophie's second chance mate but I don't care. I have waited a long time for my mate and she couldn't be any more perfect and while I may not know what's going on with the fuckers in the cells right now, one thing I do know is that I'm going to enjoy every single moment that I have with my mate and I'm going to spend every day of my life showing her love and making her the happiest women that ever lived.
