Alphas regret: Magnificent Return of the Rejected Luna

Chapter Rejected Luna 1

Chapter 1

After my daughters passed away, I was eerily calm.

Five years of marriage had worn down my sharp edges, leaving only the hollow shell of someone constantly contorted to fit a one-sided life.

I arranged the funeral on my own and explained everything t

to our

pack members.

For five years, Silas had abandoned me and our twin daughters time and again for Lena and her son. Now, I felt numb to his broken promises.

When I saw Lena's social media post, where she flaunted her travels with Silas and her son, a strange satisfaction settled over me. I had seen this ending long before it came. I realized my disappointment in Alpha Silas had reached its peak. It was time to leave. I compiled all my duties as Luna into a meticulous handover list and passed them to my

subordinates.

Noticing my indifferent expression, a flash of guilt crossed Silas's face. He lowered his head, rummaging through his bag before tossing a few items at

"Our daughters loved the ocean, didn't they? I picked these gifts just for them," he said. "And they're limited edition toys, too."

I looked down at the junk strewn in front of me and nearly laughed in disbelief. Broken seashells and Happy Meal toys.

With biting sarcasm, I replied, "So, while our daughters were on the brink of death, you were reliving your high school love story over fast food?

Remarkable taste, Silas."

"Not only that," I continued, "but you brought them back garbage. What comparison is there between these and Lena's bracelet?"

Silas's guilt vanished instantly, replaced by a cold stare.

"I told you, I didn't have a choice. I sent a warrior to save our daughters afterward, didn't I? Stop playing the martyr! And I was out handling crucial matters. Why are you throwing a tantrum?"

Three days ago, a gang of rogues near the pack's border had kidnapped Lena's son. Silas had dropped everything to save him. The rogues demanded

an exchange.

And so, he'd handed over our daughters' hands.

Afraid that one wasn't enough, he sent both my twin daughters.

Afterward, he dispatched a low-ranking warrior to bring them back but went off with Lena and her son for a relaxing trip instead.

Silas kept rambling. "I have important things to handle here! Stop acting high and mighty, Rowena! I'm warning you!"

Important business? So important that you haven't even realized your daughters are dead.

Ignoring him, I walked straight to the bedroom, leaving him fuming in my wake.

"Are you deaf? Can't you hear me talking to you?" he shouted, his voice filled with fury. His breathing quickened as he continued, "Rowena, stop pushing me. I was just trying to bring something memorable for our daughters! Didn't you know they loved the ocean more than anything? Everything I did was for them!"

Listening to him play the victim, I felt a strange calm wash over me.

I was already exhausted from organizing my daughters' funeral. Even speaking now felt like a burden.

There was nothing left to argue about.

Lena noticed the tension and raised her hand gently, calming him.

While I gathered my things, she glanced at me with smug satisfaction before feigning surprise. "Rowena, are you upset because Silas took me out? Are you going on a trip? Why are you packing?"

"Oh, I just thought Silas was so stressed by pack matters that I wanted to keep him company on vacation," she continued in a loud, innocent voice, "I didn't expect him to agree right away! He even insisted I bring my son along. If you're upset, blame me!" Her sickly sweet smile, with its feigned modesty and utter lack of remorse, made me want to vomit. For five years, she had been subtly asserting her importance to Silas in front of me, and yet, she was never satisfied.

After finishing with most of my daughters' belongings, I left my clothes behind. I could buy new ones later.

I quietly walked out of the bedroom to find Silas sitting on the sofa, anxiously smoking a cigarette.

"Perfect timing. I have something for you."

I placed the divorce papers on the table. His face twisted in shock.

aye you lost your mind, Rowena?!"
