Silas' jacket was lying there on the bench next to me. I glanced around to make sure no one was watching, then carefully slipped a lock of my hair into his jacket pocket. It was a small gesture, one that would mean nothing to Silas in the moment, but it would be everything I imagined how frantic she would be when she found out Silas had another woman's hair on him. The jealousy, the paranoia, the feeling of long control-it was exactly what I wanted her to experience. The same way she had tormented me with her actions, now it was my turn to make her feel desperate.
When Silas returned, breathless from jogging back with the medicine, I quickly pulled my hair from his jacket and smoothed it out. I could feel my pulse quicken, but I forced myself to look calm as he knelt beside me again.
Tere," he said, taking the ointment from his bag and opening it carefully. "Let me take care of it. You've been injured because of me. I should be the one to help you heal."
I opened my mouth to say that I could handle it, but his eyes were already filled with such sincerity, such responsibility, that I hesitated. There was something about his care, something about the way he looked at me, that made me feel... almost vulnerable.
"No, let me," I started to protest, but Silas didn't let me. His hands were gentle as he applied the ointment to my swollen ankle. I couldn't help but feel the warmth of his touch, and for a moment, all of my anger, my plans, faded into the background. He was right there, close to me, his presence soothing and yet filled with tension.
Once he finished applying the ointment, he met my gaze, his eyes soft but inquisitive. "What do you plan to do now?" he asked, genuinely curious.
I had to focus. This
chance to push him further into my web. "I want to talk to Evans Group about something," I said, keeping my tone casual, though my heart was racing. "There's a new healthcare project for the next season, and I want to secure the rights for cooperation." was my
He didn't immediately respond, though I could see the wheels turning in his head. He studied me for a moment, as if weighing my words. "Evans Group?" he asked, an eyebrow raising. "You want to work with them?"
"Of course," I replied smoothly. "I've heard that Lena's been overseeing that project for a while, and I thought maybe this would be a good opportunity for us to work together."
Silas gave me a small smile, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Well, I guess you've come to the right person. After all, the chairman of Evans Group is right here in front of you."
I blinked, feigning surprise. "Wait, what?" I covered my mouth in mock shock. "You're the chairman of Evans Group?"
Sias chuckled, a sound that was more modest than I expected. "Yes, I am," he admitted. "But it's not as glamorous as you might think. There's a lot to manage, a lot of responsibility."
I smiled, playing the role of the impressed woman. "I had no idea. Not only do you manage the pack so well, but you're also handling Evans Group. That's impressive, Silas."
He waved off the compliment. "It's nothing, really. But tell me more about this healthcare project. What exactly do you need?"
I leaned in slightly, making sure to keep my tone confident. This was my moment, the time to make my intentions clear. "I need the rights to cooperate with Evans Group for the healthcare project," I said, keeping my voice steady. "I've heard Lena's been in charge of it, but I want to take that opportunity away from her."
At the mention of Lena's name, I saw a flicker of hesitation in Silas' eyes. His jaw tightened slightly, and I could tell he was processing the words, weighing the situation. "Lena has been in charge of it?" he repeated, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "That complicates things."
I didn't back down. I was prepared for this.
'But I know more about medical projects, and we can offer greater profits to each other by working together' I said, my voice becoming lower.
Wouldn't you rather partner with me? This project, she has been in control for so long, it's time for someone else to take over.
Silas was quiet for a moment, clearly torn. I knew this was difficult for him. Lena had always been his, in some sense. But if I could break that bond, if I could make him see how easy it was for someone like Lena to tear everything down, then maybe he'd understand why I was doing this. I leaned back slightly, letting the tension grow. "I thought you would be able to help me with this. But maybe I was wrong," I said, making sure my voice carried just the right amount of disappointment. "Maybe I overestimated you, Silas."

His face hardened at my words, and he shot back almost immediately, "Of course I can help. Don't doubt that." His eyes were sharp now, his pride
wounded.
Yes?' I continued, belittling his ego with my words. In a sceptical tone, I ask, 'Are you saying that you have the authority to make the call and allow me to take over this major medical project from Lena?"
I watched as Silas furrowed his brow tightly in consideration. This time Lena and I were on opposite sides of the fence once again, who would he choose?
