Chapter Rejected Luna 4

unyielding floor.
My defiance only fueled Silas's rage. In an instant, his hand closed around my throat, and with brutal efficiency, he drove his knee into my stomach and released me. I crumpled forward, retching violently, my body propelled backward and landing hard against the cold, The Impact stole the air from my lungs. Pain radiated from my abdomen, sharp and consuming, chilling my skin in cold sweat. I lay there, unable to move, clutching my stomach as tears and sweat mingled, dripping onto the floor beneath me. Silas loomed over me, his eyes cold, devoid of
compassion.
In that moment, I wasn't his Luna. I was his enemy.
He sneered, his voice low and filled with contempt. "You brought this on yourself," he said, each word dripping with disdain. "You're always like this,
ver knowing when to stop."
I couldn't muster the strength to respond, my hair plastered to my face with sweat, my voice barely a whisper. "Help.... please... my baby..."
His expression twisted in skepticism. "Save it. Is this just another one of your performances?" he asked, his gaze dropping to the growing pool of blood spreading beneath me.
"Silas..." I gasped, my voice barely audible.
For the first time, I saw genuine shock flash across his face as he noticed the blood. Panic took hold of him, and he released Lena, fumbling to contact the pack's healer.
The healer was too far from the estate, and when Silas heard how long it would take, he cursed. "Two hours? She'll be dead by then!" he shouted, throwing down the phone in frustration. In a rare moment of urgency, he scooped me into his arms and rushed to his car, driving us to the emergency room himself.
As I was wheeled into the operating room, numbness washed over me. I already knew.
child would be lost, too.
This was my punishment, for being blind and stubborn for so long.
Hours later, as the anesthesia began to wear off, I opened my eyes slowly. Pain pulsed through my abdomen in relentless waves, sharp and unyielding, forcing me to stifle any movement. Across the room, Silas stood with an expression as cold as stone, his gaze fixed on me with anger.
"Rowena, have I been too lenient with you? Hm?" His voice cut through the silence. "Answer me! If you'd told me you were pregnant, none of this would've happened..."
"What difference would it have made?" My voice was barely a whisper, fragile and weak.
To him, our child was merely a tool, something to appease his family's expectations.
Perhaps this child's passing was for the best. Perhaps, in another life, in another family, they could have found peace.
At my words, his face darkened, fury tightening his jaw as he began to pace the room like a man on the edge.
"Now look at you! You'll be bedridden for a month, at least! And what am I supposed to tell our daughters?" His words seethed with frustration, as if I'd made things difficult for him, nothing more.
"Our daughters are gone, Silas. There's nothing left to explain."
He lit a cigarette, ignoring my words, his mind set on hearing only what he wanted. Even now, he hadn't taken me off his blacklist, hadn't even known that our daughters were gone.
The Irony would've made me laugh if I hadn't felt the searing pain in my abdomen with each breath. He turned toward me, his face set in a frown.
"Enough! Do you really think I wanted to hurt you? This was your doing. Apologizing to Lena - would that have been so difficult? You've managed just fine all these years; what's different now?" His voice rose in exasperation. "The doctor said you miscarried, and the damage was extensive. I signed the paperwork. You'll never have children again. So pull yourself together. Don't hurt our daughters further, or how am I supposed to face your father?" Rejected Luna

His voice carried a chill that left me paralyzed, stunned by the callousness of his words.
He continued as if none of this affected him, already making calls. "Tell my daughters," he instructed his assistant, "that Rowena's away on business, and she won't be able to visit them."
The assistant hesitated, voice trembling slightly. "Alpha... your daughters passed away three days ago. We couldn't reach you..."
