Chapter Epilogue
The sun shone brightly in the sky. Maria enjoyed the feeling of the rays dancing on her face, teasing her skin softly, and let out a happy sigh. "How are you feeling, cara?" Her mate came to hug her from behind.
She could only smile and snuggle into his warmth, much like a little kitten.
"I feel good,” she answered him simply before she turned her head his way, just in time for him to peck her lips.
She would never grow tired of his sweetness.
"I hate it when you guard your emotions and thoughts from me," he said with a small pout which made him look like a petulant child.
"It wasn't my intention to hurt you. It's just that now that I'm a queen, I should be more cautious. Isn't that what you told me ten years ago?" She tilted her head in puzzlement. "You should be cautious of the court, not of me," he rolled his eyes.
"Don't be silly, Blake," she reprimanded. "You know that I have nothing to hide from you."
"That true?" He narrowed his eyes.
"Okay, I might have been hiding something from you... for a total of three days," she admitted in a teasing tone.
"What is it? Should I be offended or angry?" He asked, cocking an eyebrow in question.
"Ana's pregnant."
"I'm going to be a grandfather?" He asked, sounding and looking astonished.
"Yes, Blake. You and I both are going to become grandparents."
"This calls for a celebration," he said joyfully, grinning from ear to ear.
"Call the gang," she suggested with a wink.
He did. And it was time for a get-together again.
They drank to the life growing inside his daughter's womb, to their undying friendship too. "Forever and ever!" They exclaimed in unison, like a family ought to.
