Love Comes To Me

Chapter 1001: A woman's heart is a needle under the sea

Earlene's lips curled in self-deprecation.

Knowing that Hector is outright oblivious to all women except Eloise, he is simply making a fool of himself by going up to her. Gathering up her brief loss, she turned and walked quickly into the Khan Group building.

Edgar received an intercom call from his assistant that Earlene was here and immediately stood up and hurried out of the office. "President, do you have any orders?" Ivor asked as he saw him come out and hurriedly got up to speak.

"Prepare two lattes for me, both without sugar."

Edgar said as he walked towards the lift.

Seeing this, Ivor reacted to what he was up to and couldn't help but snicker, it seemed the president had really moved on. "Ding..."

When the lift doors opened, Earlene froze when she saw Edgar standing outside, but quickly recovered.

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she walked out.

"You are an honoured guest and I had to come and greet you personally."

Edgar looked at her with a gentle, light smile and replied half seriously, half jokingly.

Earlene's brow furrowed slightly, she didn't hate him but she didn't like the way he was acting, it was inadvertently putting a pressure on her.

Edgar was keenly aware that she seemed a little upset and hastened to explain, "Don't take it personally, I really only came out to greet you, who made you my friend."

He didn't want to alienate her from him in the future because of a move he made.

When he said that, Earlene realised that she seemed overly cautious and smiled, "I didn't think much of it."

"That's fine." Edgar you breathed a sigh of relief, "Let's talk in the office."

Ivor has gone ahead and brought the brewed coffee into the office.

"Your favourite latte, no sugar." Edgar picked up one of the cups and handed it to Earlene.

Earlene took a sip and looked up at him, "It's good, I like it."

Edgar laughed, "As long as you like it."

Following this, Earlene handed him the documents she had brought with her, "This is the company's operational plan, which will start to move forward next week at the latest, so you should read it first to see if there are any problems." Edgar took it and put it aside, "I trust you."

Earlene frowned, "So you're not looking?"

"Don't look."

Edgar just wanted to show that he trusted her, but didn't expect to upset her by doing so.

Earlene pursed her lips and thought for a moment before asking, "Do you think that's irresponsible of you?"

"Hmm?" Edgar froze.

Earlene took a deep breath, "You said you trusted me enough to not read the plans. Do you think I'd be happy if you did?"

"I ..."

Edgar realised something was wrong and tried desperately to explain.

But Earlene didn't give him a chance and interrupted straight away, "I'm telling you, I'm not happy at all, rather I think you're looking down on me."

"I didn't mean that." Momentarily at a loss for an explanation, Edgar hurriedly picked up the plans and said, "I'll read them here, I'll make sure I read them properly."

Earlene was tempted to snatch the plans up, but resisted.

"I hope you won't do that in the future, we're just a partnership, even if you trust me more, you shouldn't put the whole company in my charge, aren't you afraid I'll do something from it?"

"You wouldn't." Edgar glanced up at her, "I do believe in you as much as Mr Hector believes in me."

"I got it, you see."

At the mention of Hector, Earlene was in an even worse mood and didn't want to talk to him about it at all anymore.

She looked very upset.

Edgar sighed darkly, it looked like he had screwed up again.

He hated to slap himself for always doing things without thinking.

Although Earlene was not in a very good mood, she still showed a professional attitude and discussed with Edgar the plans for the operation of the new company.

When she left, she politely declined Edgar's offer to see her off.

"No need for that, I drove myself here."

Edgar didn't dare to insist, so he walked her downstairs and watched her car fade away until he was out of sight before withdrawing his eyes.

He sighed heavily, it was true that a woman's heart is a needle under the sea.

...

At this time, Eloise was walking with her mother in the garden under the hospital wing.

"Mum, let's go and sit over there." Eloise said, pointing to a bench not far away.

Maryam nodded, "Good."

Eloise helped her over to sit down and looked around, there were quite a few patients walking around and she couldn't help but feel a little sad, "How nice it would be if this wasn't a hospital, it's quite pleasant for them to take a walk like this." "It's only temporary; when you get well, you'll be able to leave the hospital naturally." Maryam was a little helpless at this sudden sentiment of hers.

Eloise raised her eyebrows, "And oh yes."

Something suddenly occurred to her, "Mum, when Grandpa wakes up and is healed, will you go back to the Khan family with him?"

Maryam smiled bitterly, "I don't know if your grandfather will forgive me yet, so I don't dare to think about it either."

"I'm sure Grandpa will forgive you." Eloise couldn't understand how she could think that, "Grandpa has missed you for over twenty years, he'd be especially happy to wake up and see you."

"That's just what you think." Maryam looked up into the distance, "I know your grandfather, he is stubborn and has a hard time forgiving someone easily."

"Mum, you're overthinking it. Grandpa, as stubborn as he is, is still your father and he loves you."

To Eloise, love can resolve all misunderstandings.

Maryam looked at her sideways, "How do you know he loves me?"

"Just, just the fact that he's been hanging on to you for over twenty years."

Eloise put her arm around her shoulders and continued, "Even if he doesn't forgive you, you'll have to be brazen enough to beg him to do so." Maryam is silent.

"Mum, you have to think of Grandma, how sorry she was to go, she never got to see you until she died."

Maryam's eyes could not help but redden at the mention of this incident.

Yes, it was not only her mother's regret, but also the biggest regret of her life.

"Mum, the past is the past, it's the present that we need to cherish."

Eloise heartily wiped away her tears, "Grandpa he really misses you and loves you."

Maryam couldn't help but laugh, "Your grandfather has never been one to show his feelings, you've only met him a few times, how can you be so sure?" "Because he's my grandfather, your father, the bloodline is the same, so I know Grandpa."

"You kids..."

Maryam lost her smile and shook her head.

"So are you back with the Khan family by then?" Eloise repeated the question.

She wanted to know her mother's thoughts and intentions.

Maryam sighed, "I'll go back as soon as your grandfather will let me."

At the end of the day, she still wants to go back to the Khan family in her heart.

It was her home, after all.

Eloise smiled, "Don't worry about that, Grandpa will want it."

Maryam smiled and patted her hand, "Well, I believe you."
