Chapter 1396: The mall is like a battlefield
News of Earlene's death spread like wildfire, which caused some strange rumors to spread.
For example, that Earlene had been emotionally hurt by Marcos and was incapable of thinking about committing suicide.
It was even rumored that Marcos had lost his memory.
This news, which was not favorable to the Leoz Group, directly affected the Leoz Group's stock, which dropped a few percentage points.
"Prince, how did people outside find out about your memory loss?" Alfredo was puzzled.
The prince's memory loss had been so well hidden that no one knew about it except the two families of The Leoz Family and The Khan Family, and him, Eliazar and Vega.
Something was wrong.
Alfredo's eyes snapped open.
The Bartram family knew it.
Marcos noticed the change in their expression and, with a slight eyebrow twitch, asked, "Has something occurred to you?"
Alfredo nodded, "Could it be that the Bartram family has heard about it?"
He still sounded a little unsure.
"Is there anyone else besides the Bartram family?" asked Marcos instead of answering.
"Is it an attempt to declare war on the Leoz Group by deliberately spreading that news against you guys for Earlene's death?"
Marcos' eyes narrowed slightly and the corners of his mouth curved into a grimace, "That's only if they have that ability."
Alfred certainly believed in his prince's ability, but he still couldn't help but feel a little worried. "Prince, we still have to be careful." Marcos looked at him and said nothing.
Of course he had to be careful, but since the Bartram family had made a move, he couldn't stand idly by.
...
Alvaro was relieved to hear that Earlene was dead and exclaimed that he could finally live in peace.
But he was not overjoyed when news of Marcos' memory loss reached his ears.
"Shit!" he couldn't help but burst out.
"Who the hell is the one who crossed paths with us in The Leoz Family?" He scratched his hair in mild annoyance.
"Second Prince, the situation in the Leoz Group is a bit dangerous right now because someone is purposely throwing dirt on the Grand Prince, saying that it was the Prince who played with Earlene's feelings that caused Earlene's death." Said his assistant cautiously.
"Bullshit!"
Alvaro laughed angrily, "Are they hiding under my brother's bed? How else would they have known so well?"
"We know what's going on, but people on the outside don't, and word is spreading, which has caused several partners of the Leoz Group to offer to suspend their collaboration, saying they are afraid of repercussions."
"Repercussions of what?" Alvaro snorted coldly, "There are many people who want to work with the Leoz Group, if they don't want to work together, naturally there are others who do."
The assistant asked, "So what do we do now?".
"Get out of the hospital!" Alvaro lifted the sheets and got out of bed.
Even though his brother was capable of taking care of everything, he still wanted to help a little, he couldn't let his brother carry everything alone.
...
As soon as Alvaro was discharged from the hospital, he went straight to the office.
Alfredo was surprised when he saw him, "Second Prince, what brings you here?".
"Can't I come?" asked Alvaro instead of answering.
Alfredo lost his smile, "Of course you can, have you just recovered?".
"Do I look like I'm not well?".
"No." Alfredo replied seriously.
"That's not good." Alvaro looked toward the president's office and, with a turn, asked, "Is my brother in?" "Yes."
Alvaro gently pushed open the door and caught a glimpse of Marcos, who was looking intently at his papers.
"Yes?" asked Marcos without looking up, thinking it was Alfredo who had entered.
Alvaro closed the door and approached him, "Brother."
Hearing him, Marcos looked up, frowning, "You're out of the hospital?"
"Yes." Alvaro turned and headed for the couch, saying as he did so, "I heard all that news, how I was going to stay in the hospital." Marcos got up and walked over to him, sitting down across from him with some concern hidden in his eyes, "Is your body okay?" "Brother, I'm fine." Alvaro looked helpless, "I've been fine for a long time, it's you who keep me from leaving the hospital."
"By the way, brother, who was it that spread all that ridiculous news?" asked Alvaro curiously.
Marcos raised an eyebrow, "What do you think?".
"It must be our rivals." Alvaro said with great assurance, "After all these years they've finally caught a break and I'm sure they're taking this opportunity to discredit the Leoz Group." A slight smile tugged at the corners of Marcos' mouth. "Since you've guessed all that, I'll leave the matter for you to investigate."
"No problem." Alvaro agreed without saying a word, squinting, "I'll get them one by one!".
Alvaro returned to his office and immediately asked his assistant to find out who was behind the smear campaign against the Leoz Group.
After investigating, Alvaro found the source of the information.
It was the Chavez family, the Villegas family, the Camero family and the Alanzo family from Ciudad D. They were all members of the Leoz Group.
They are all competitors of the Leoz Group and have always thought they were in the crosshairs of the Leoz Group at all times, trying to steal the Leoz Group's partners.
This time they have somehow found out about Marcos' memory loss and have made quite a mess, throwing all kinds of dirty water on the Leoz Group and Marcos. "Heh."
After hearing the assistant's report, Alvaro laughed coldly, "I think I know with my knees who they got the information about my brother's memory loss from."
The assistant frowned, "Second Prince, are you referring to the Bartram family?"
Alvaro did not answer directly, but said, "Now that Earlene is dead, the Bartram family will surely blame The Leoz family and my brother."
That's why the Bartram family had spread Marcos' memory loss.
"Since we now know who is behind it, let's defend ourselves?" The assistant asked.
"Not so fast, I'll check with my brother first."
Alvaro went to the president's office and told Marcos the conclusions.
Marcos listened and smiled coldly, "With them, are they worthy rivals to the Leoz Group?"
"Brother, that's true, but we can't let them sling mud without doing a little counterattack, can we?". Alvaro felt as if a puff of air had been held in his chest, up and down, and it was hard to bear.
He made sure to keep a few eyes open that Grupo Leoz was not so easily intimidated.
"Did I say I wouldn't defend myself?" Marcos shot him a cold look.
"No."
Marcos narrowed his eyes with a hint of danger and his voice trailed off. "The Chavez family has money problems and is talking to the bank for financing, you can absolutely talk to the head of the bank." Alvaro nodded, "Understood."
"A factory run by La familia Villegas is stealing contaminants causing the death of crops in the surrounding area and even poisoning people, but La familia Villegas wants to pay to have this squashed, you must know how to do that, right?" "Of course I know." Alvaro had a confident look on his face.
"As for The Camero family and The Alanzo family, it's even easier, the two families are in constant infighting and you can take advantage of that."
After hearing Marcos' words, Alvaro winced, "Brother, thank goodness I'm your brother and not a competitor, you really are terrible. It's amazing how you know your opponent's weaknesses so well."
It was really hard to believe that he had lost his memory.
Marcos hooked his lips into a smile, "The mall is like a battlefield, you must know yourself and your opponent."
"You've taught me a lesson brother, I'll do as you say."
Alvaro turned and left in a hurry.
