Love Comes To Me

Chapter 1552: He wasn't going to take it either!

Mark, who was on a business trip to a neighboring city, immediately left his unfinished work and rushed back to J-Town after hearing about Paulina and Sweety's accident. When he arrived home, he went inside and asked urgently, "Where are Paulina and Sweety?"

"Upstairs." The housekeeper returned.

Mark hurried up the stairs, went to Sweety's bedroom door, pushed it gently, and caught a glimpse of the slender figure sitting on the edge of the bed.

His heart, which had been restless all the way, slowly calmed at the sight of her.

She entered.

Despite his soft footsteps, Paulina hears him, turns her head, sees it is him and puts her index finger to her mouth, gesturing for him to shut up.

Marcos looks at Sweety, who is sleeping, and his frown softens unconsciously.

After a moment, Paulina gets up and pulls him up.

When they got back to their room, Paulina asks, "What brings you back?"

Marcos looked at her for a moment without speaking.

When he didn't speak or smile, he looked very serious.

"Marcos..." Paulina just spoke.

"Why did you leave on your own without telling me?"

Marcos' handsome face was tense and obviously angry.

Paulina's pulse trembled, she bit her lip and carefully explained, "I was worried that something might happen to Sweety, so I didn't think much about it for a while... don't get angry, okay?" An aggrieved voice with a hint of smugness.

Mark sighed softly, he wasn't really mad at her, he was just worried that something might happen to her.

Bergerian was too dangerous and he had his heart set on her, who knew what he might do to her.

It bothered him even more that Bergerian dared to touch Sweety.

Paulina lifted the corners of her lips when he seemed a little more relaxed and asked cautiously, "You're not angry anymore?"

Mark didn't answer, but instead grabbed her by the shoulders, looked her up and down and asked, "Are you okay?"

Paulina shook her head, "I'm fine. I'm sorry I worried you."

Marcos laughed helplessly, "Silly, no need to apologize."

It was only when she met his kind eyes that Paulina felt a rush of fear and threw herself into his arms, opening them to cling to his waist and burying her head in his embrace, her eyes slightly reddened. No one knew how frightened she had been when she learned that Sweety had been taken away by Bergerian.

If anything had happened to Sweety, she would never forgive herself!

Marcos hugged her and kissed her head.

He felt her fear and felt her heart squeezed hard.

It hurt.

"I'm sorry I didn't protect you."

His remorseful voice echoed in her ears and Paulina lifted her head from his arms.

The two looked into each other's eyes.

A cold gleam appeared in Marcos' eyes as he continued, "I'll take care of this. He is too dangerous. You must never associate with him again."

"I won't." Paulina took a deep breath, "If I hadn't moved Sweety this time, I wouldn't have gone after him."

Hearing that, she smiled softly, "And, when I left, I took Vega with me."

"That's good. Talk to me before you run into this in the future and I'll sort it out."

"Okay." Paulina hugged him tightly and closed her eyes, feeling his scent envelop her.

A restless heart calmed completely at that moment.

"Paulina," Mark called softly, looking down.

There was no response.

He was a little helpless, and a fond smile curved his lips.

Surprisingly, she had fallen asleep.

Mark stopped her and carried her into the bedroom, placed her gently on the bed and pulled the covers over her.

Lowering his head, he planted a kiss as light as a feather on her forehead, "Get some rest."

...

When Marcos entered the study, he dialed Vega's number and asked him to come to the old house.

"Prince, I'm on my way, I'm coming."

When he heard that Marcos had returned to J-town, Vega was the first to go to the old mansion.

And, he brought with him the medicine Bergerian had given him, "Prince, this is the medicine Bergerian wanted to give Paulina, it seems to be the antidote against the virus." An antidote?

Marcos' frown tinged with hostility as he picked it up and glanced at it.

"Prince, Bergerian kidnapped Sweety and forced Paulina to meet him just to give her this medicine."

Vega frowned at the mention of it, "He can't really be trying to save Paulina, can he?"

Marcos pondered for a moment before speaking slowly, "Yes or no. Take this medicine to Almeida, Sener, and have them tested for clarity."

Granted, the medicine had been given to him by the enemy, but if it really worked against the virus, then for Paulina's sake, he had to put up with it even if he wasn't happy. But he wasn't going to put up with it either!

Especially not when Bergerian had his mind on the child!

Marcos narrowed his eyes with a stern look, "Vega, go investigate Bergerian's movements immediately."

At that, Vega bowed his head, "Prince, I've already had someone look into it. He's meeting a client in a clandestine casino tonight."

The corners of Marcos' lips curved into a cold tone as he asked, "Exactly when?"

It had taken him a while to get hold of Bergerian, but now he was ahead of himself.

If he didn't take advantage of it, it would be a shame for him.

"In an hour."

At that, Mark immediately ordered, "Dispatch the men. Meet me at the subway casino in an hour!" "Yes."

Vega directed the order and left in a hurry.
