Mommy for Billionaire's Baby

Chapter 35 b

Tasya should already be sleepy, right? The clock's hands had already struck eleven at night. But why couldn't she sleep? Even though she didn't have to work tomorrow as usual, there were things that needed to be done, right? "Do I have to take sleeping pills?" she said with a sigh. She carefully got out of bed, afraid of waking up the child sleeping next to her tonight. Naina was sound asleep, probably exhausted from her many assignments. Her feet stopped in front of the sliding glass door. The well-kept and lush garden lay before her. The night breeze was quite strong, and it immediately made her clutch her pajamas tighter. Cold. The night sky looked darker but generously sprinkled with stars. Beautiful and captivating.

"The doctor said Mom needs intensive care, sis."

Ronan's words echoed in her mind. Including their recent conversation. Her mother should have received treatment long ago, but Tasya insisted that her mother was just not capable of controlling herself yet. Despite the fact that she was often hurt, she couldn't bear to have her mother undergo treatment in a mental hospital.

"Robin almost got hit by a plate thrown by Mom earlier, sis."

Tasya closed her eyes tightly.

"It's okay, right, if Mom gets treatment? For Mom's sake, sis."

Tasya stayed silent for a while until she finally let out a soft sigh. "Okay then. I hope you're sure this is the best thing for Mom."

Her heart prayed... that it was true.

One thing was for sure, she had to figure out how to make a lot of money because she didn't know how much it would cost for her mother's treatment.

"Stay strong, Tasya," she whispered softly.

***

"Are you sure?"

Nathan still wasn't ready for Tasya to go back to work now. He wanted her to stay at home until she fully recovered. Even though he was struggling to finish his work without Tasya's help.

Exactly three days since Tasya took a leave of absence. Don't ask about the amount of work she had to catch up on. She even messed up her timing for a meeting with the marketing team just because she got too caught up in pursuing a new breakthrough. Nathan needed to move on to the next project. He couldn't just focus on Surabaya because opportunities had to be created.

Tasya's absence had a significant impact on him. He was truly grateful to have Tasya as his assistant.

Tasya's current condition left Nathan in a dilemma. He couldn't deny the paleness of Tasya's face, despite using fairly bright makeup. Her eyes' radiance couldn't deceive him. Nathan was sure Tasya was still often in pain. But Tasya was as tough as a rock. Even though her smile resembled a mesmerizing sunset, when those cracked lips spoke of her willingness, Nathan couldn't argue.

Just like now.

"How many times have you asked that question this morning?" Tasya sighed softly, making sure her seat belt was securely fastened. Her hair had grown somewhat long, and she had neatly tied it in a high ponytail. "You look beautiful, though."

Her lazy glance met Nathan's. "Don't feel like driving, huh? Do I need to take the wheel?"

"Nah, I'm good."

"I usually drive when you're feeling lazy."

Nathan laughed. "I'm not lazy now. I'm actually excited to go to the office."

Tasya just shook her head in wonder. "Why have you been asking since earlier?"

"Just making sure my future wife is completely healthy."

"When did I get engaged to earn the 'future wife' label?"

Nathan really wanted to shake some sense into Tasya. After all, at the hospital, at the end of their conversation about their feelings and future, Nathan made a clear proposal about marriage. And it was answered with a nod! But why did Nathan feel like he was being played now?

Don't worry, Nathan wasn't angry with Tasya, just curious why this woman always wanted Nathan to say, "I proposed during a kiss on the hospital bed, Tasya, in case you forgot."

See, what Nathan said was true. Proof of that was Tasya blushing and looking down, a hundred percent sure that her face was as red as a tomato while she did that.

"No need to deny it like that, Tasya." Nathan started his car's engine. Making sure nothing was left behind, he drove out of his garage. Naina had already left earlier. She had whined about needing a ride to school from Tasya. Oh, that kid. Did Nathan need to spell it out clearly that Daddy needed plenty of space to be with Mama Raptor?

Speaking of Raptor, why did Nathan suddenly remember his conversation with his mother? His mom had burst into laughter until the corners of her eyes were moist when Nathan said, "Raptor is a term of endearment from Tasya, Ma. Don't compare Raptor to a crocodile."

"It's not a denial, Nathan," Tasya took a deep breath. "Girls out there have dream proposals too. And it doesn't seem like what happened with me."

Nathan was dumbfounded, but afterward, he burst into hearty laughter. "So, you want me to propose to you romantically?"

"Too late," Tasya chose to stare straight ahead at the road. If she turned, Nathan would definitely enjoy everything on her face even more.

"Hey, why like that?" Nathan gently caressed the side of Tasya's face, which she quickly brushed away.

"Mama Raptor is so fierce," Nathan said with a wide grin. His heart was much calmer now. Maybe what Tasya said about him gradually getting better and now being in perfect condition wasn't a lie. He could glare fiercely now, right?

"It's not that I don't want to propose to you in a romantic place, to make you impressed, or maybe something you can't easily forget. Seriously. I want to, you know." Nathan glanced briefly at Tasya, and it turned out their eyes met at the same time.

"I don't know why when I was with you yesterday, I felt like we needed to talk about everything right then. Not because I couldn't create a romantic moment, but I needed you to know my desires right away."

"Yeah, Nathan." Tasya's earlier statement didn't really mean anything. But, what can you say, most girls want to be proposed to in a romantic place, right? Whether it's in a restaurant filled with flowers, a beautiful dinner with a breathtaking nighttime Sydney view.

When she thought about it, was their relationship normal from the beginning? It didn't seem like it, right? Since when did a high school student propose first? Then, where did they meet again where that kid became a workaholic assistant and a player like Nathan?

"But I didn't take away the romantic essence for you." Nathan chuckled softly. "Check the dashboard." "Yesterday's report?"
