Chapter 226
Chapter 226
Irene didn't have time to ponder these things now. She focused on the Crescent Isle, still unsure why Yasmine suddenly gave up, but now Crescent Isle was hers.
As the final hammer strike echoed, Misty Evergreen Isle was presented to the woman in the corner. Xavier glanced over curiously; her voice felt oddly familiar, though he couldn't quite pinpoint where he had heard it before.
The auction was about to come to a close. Before it ended, Yasmine made her way to the restroom. She had just washed her hands when she heard Yvette's questioning voice, "Why did you suddenly back out? You're leaving me to foot the bill for Emerald Isle? I was only considering raising the bid because of you!"
Yasmine laughed mockingly, "Yvette, if I were you, I wouldn't have the nerve to stand here and say such things. I told you to tell Irene I wanted Emerald Isle. Did you relay that message?"
"I... I did, of course, I told her about it," Yvette stepped back a bit.
"Liar! I thought you'd wise up and choose to work with me after what happened last time, but now I see I gave you too much credit." Yasmine's face grew colder as she turned to leave. Unwilling to give up, Yvette grabbed her arm, "Then what about Emerald Isle?"
"Funny, you won it, so why are you asking me what to do? How is this any of my concern?" Yasmine shook off her hand.
"You!" Yvette was so furious she could barely stand.
Waiting outside the restroom for Yasmine were not just Yvette, but Irene was there too. As soon as Yasmine came out, Irene spoke up, "Thanks for letting me have it, Crescent Isle is finally mine."
"No worries," Yasmine replied with a forced smile as she quickly walked away.
Yvette emerged from behind, as Irene began, "Even though I got Crescent Isle, I still feel a bit uneasy. Can you tell me why?" Yasmine stood still, looking at her calmly, "Didn't Yvette tell your Crescent Isle isn't what I want."
"What?" Irene exclaimed, surprised. Yasmine chose not to answer and simply left.
Irene glared at Yvette with a cold expression, "Yvette, what's this about? Didn't you tell me the truth?"
Caught off guard by Yasmine's move, Yvette shook her head, "No! She really only told me she wanted Crescent Isle, and even asked me to trick you into thinking she wanted Emerald Isle."
Irene didn't believe her. "I see you won't cry until you see the coffin, Yvette. Do you know the consequences of making me angry?" she said, slowly advancing toward Yvette. In her frightened gaze, Irene leisurely reached out to touch Yvette's stomach. "What are you doing?" Yvette jumped in surprise. Irene snorted and stormed off.
In the venue, Yasmine leisurely returned to her seat. She knew Morgan must be quite puzzled now, but he still hadn't asked her anything because he really trusted her. "Morgan, yesterday I got a document, the 'Route Planning Report. This document clearly marked the sea areas and islands that the new route passes, and it's not Crescent Isle." Indeed, it was the document Yonas gave her last night.
Morgan glanced in Hunter's direction. "But, Mr. Ellis..."
"He's a really skilled person, I've finally witnessed it." Yasmine sighed from her heart. "The reason he told us about Crescent Isle is simply that he wants us to fight over it. Most of the land he was involved with tonight, but what's actually been bought?" 58%

"You mean to say, what he told us was just to divert attention?" Morgan asked.
Yasmine nodded, "What he wants is Misty Evergreen Isle." From the beginning, he only had his eye on Misty Evergreen Isle. Yasmine didn't know how Hunter got hold of this kind of confidential document, but she was clear that acquiring it wasn't easy "But Misty Evergreen Isle was bought by a stranger," Morgan said with some regret.
Yasmine shook her head, "It's not a loss."
The auction had ended, and most people had already left the venue. Yasmine and Morgan were about to leave too when the person who had just bid on Misty Evergreen Isle in the corner walked up to Yasmine, removing their mask and sunglasses. Morgan was stunned- this was Lucy!
Lucy said with a grin, "Yasmine, how was my acting? You originally gave me a budget of 270 million, and I only spent 230. You owe me dinner!" "Sure." Yasmine replied with a gentle smile.
Behind them, Irene stood up in surprise; she couldn't have predicted this outcome. Hunter, who also witnessed the scene, was furious, his eyes cold. Xavier and Yvette were just as shocked, unable to believe that Yasinine had played them like fools at such a high-profile auction.
Irene was especially stunned when she thought back to the bidding on Misty Evergreen Isle. She was lost in confusion, which only amplified her shock. It was a feeling too complex to capture in words, like climbing to heaven on a silken thread only to be told you've arrived in hell.
This sense of contrast and the feeling of being fooled made Irene almost want to rush over and tear Yasmine's mouth apart. Yet, she couldn't help but recall what Yasmine had said in the restroom. She looked at Yvette with shock; could it be that. Yasmine really did say that to her? Surely, it was due to the evidence that betrayed her-that maybe Yvette had come to deceive her on purpose.
Hunter approached Yasmine, eyeing them with a sly look. He spoke coldly, "I never expected Ms. Sanchez would play such a trick. Seems like you didn't believe what I told you back then."
"No, quite the opposite. After knowing what you, Hunter, told us, we even planned carefully how to get Crescent Isle at the auction. However, there's a detail that makes me really skeptical "Oh? What detail might that be?" Hunter raised an eyebrow.
Yasmine said softly, "If Emerald Isle truly isn't on the new route, then there's no reason to undercut the price, yet you insisted on selling it below market value, which makes me highly suspicious." Hunter suppressed the shock in his heart, "Just because of that?"
"No, not just because of that. Previously, at your charity auctioned you greeted Irene and seemed quite close with her grandfather. There's no reason she shouldn't know what you could
me, so she should have been aware of the Crescent
Isle deal much earlier. Yasmine considered all these factors, though she did leave out the plan Yonas had given her.
Hunter asked with confusion, "How did Ms. Sanchez find out about the Misty Evergreen Isle?"
Yasmine chuckled. "That's none of your business."
Hunter let out a cold snort, "Ms. Sanchez truly proves that heroes can be young.
