Chapter 92 Taming Jack
The first day of the competition wrapped up, and Felix's team snagged a win, moving on to the next round. But luck wasn't on their side with the draw-they ended up against the Python Squad. Allison didn't sweat it too much; they'd have to face them eventually anyway.
But Felix smelled something fishy. Pointing at the screen, he said, "Allison, check out these teams. Based on their skills, they shouldn't have won, but they did. Strong teams losing to weak ones? Something's off!"
Allison saw it too and suddenly remembered Julie. "Do you recall what Julie said in the hospital room?" Hearing Julie made Felix uneasy, but then it clicked. "She said she bet on our team losing, and she'd make a ton of money and run off with it! She also said my money would become hers."
Allison nodded, feeling like things were spiraling out of control.
Meanwhile, even Alexander noticed something was up. Someone had set up a bet that all the strong teams would get knocked out in the first round. Three out of four strong teams were eliminated, which was definitely fishy. Some people got rich overnight from the bets, while many more got screwed over, which was clearly not normal.
Given the situation, Alexander made a quick call. "Allison and her team are in danger. Get someone to protect her right away!"
James personally headed to Aquilonia, but by the time he got there, the second match had already started. Allison's team was up against the Python Squad.
Seeing their outfits, Sabrina was freaked out. "Allison, they look so scary!"
Allison smiled and pinched Sabrina's chin. "Don't worry, we can totally beat them. Trust me!"
Sabrina nodded but was still scared. Felix reluctantly held her hand, clearly annoyed. "I'll hold your hand. Just don't run around, don't overthink, and follow Allison's lead!"
As the two sides faced off, the Python Squad members were full of hatred towards Allison, except for Jack, whose look was more complicated.
At that moment, Jack saw a smile under her baseball cap that gave him chills. He quickly told his team, "We have to win this round. If we beat them, we'll be the champions!"
Allison sat down and assigned tasks to her team. "The strategy is simple. We hide. The more aggressive they are, the less we confront them. Save our strength and strike at the last moment!"
"Got it!" The team members, in their uniforms, responded. Allison wore white, Cleo wore orange, and Sabrina, Tobias, and the others wore their respective colors. The funniest was Felix with his green hair.
At the referee's signal, the Python Squad launched a fierce attack, chasing the Rainbow Team relentlessly and using ammo like it was free. The Rainbow Team was pinned down for half an hour, unable to fight back, making Jack increasingly smug.
Jack shouted, "Chase them down, finish them off!"
A group of dark-themed punks shouted obscenities, acting like they'd already won. The pressure was suffocating for the Rainbow Team.
Allison glanced at the time; it was almost the last ten minutes. She led the counterattack, followed by Tobias and Felix, turning the situation around in five minutes.
Allison shouted into the walkie-talkie, "Sabrina, it's your turn!"
"Allison, I'm coming!" The cheerful Sabrina jumped in, cutting through the opposition and reaching the top. The Python Squad tried to counterattack but ran out of ammo and were completely defeated.
After the win, the Rainbow Team erupted in cheers, while Jack threw down his headset and tried to rush over, only to be stopped by security.
"This is impossible, absolutely impossible!" Jack shouted, unable to accept the loss.
But then, screams erupted from his team. "Jack, something's wrong, Fiona is vomiting blood!"
Allison, who was about to leave, stopped in her tracks and looked over. Not just Fiona, but another teammate was also vomiting blood. Allison wanted to go over, but Cleo stopped her. "Allison, don't get involved. This is their mess. Even if you help, they might not appreciate it!"
Allison hesitated but ultimately stayed put. Soon, an ambulance arrived and took them away. Allison watched as blood flowed from their orifices, and her heart skipped a beat.
Not long after they got back to the hotel, the police showed up and asked Allison to go to the hospital.
Felix blocked them, refusing to let her go. "You don't have any evidence that this has anything to do with Allison. You can't just take her!"
The police looked at Allison and said, "But Jack accused Ms. Bennett of doing something to them, which caused the incident. Fiona has no vital signs, Felix. We're just doing our job. And since Ms. Bennett had a physical altercation with Fiona the day before the match..."
Allison patted Felix's shoulder. "Don't worry. I'll go with them to the hospital."
The others wanted to go too, but Allison refused, only allowing Felix to accompany her. Cleo stayed behind to protect the rest of the team.
At the hospital, Jack was in a rage, even fighting with the police, who eventually subdued him.
Fiona was brain-dead, and another teammate was in bad shape, but the cause was unknown, which made Jack even more agitated.
Seeing Allison arrive, Jack rushed over. "You know why they're like this, don't you?"
Allison didn't answer and just looked around. The place was too crowded to talk. Jack realized this and arranged with the police to find a private room to talk with Allison. "So, what is it?" Jack asked.

Allison looked at him coldly and smiled. "It's something like witchcraft, Jack. When you made a deal with the devil, you should've known the price. Those two had a sudden onset due to extreme anger. Even if I could remove the worm from their bodies, they might not wake up!"
Jack clutched his chest, feeling a fear he'd never known.
"How did you figure it out?" Jack still found it hard to believe.
Allison said calmly, "I'm a medical doctor, and two days ago, I discovered the worm in Felix's body. So, I only knew about it two days earlier!"
Jack clenched his fists, glaring at Allison with murderous intent. "You deliberately didn't tell us, wanting to watch us die. How cruel you are!"
Allison didn't respond, but Felix shouted at him, "Did Allison force you to make a deal? Why blame her? You want to win but don't want to work hard, using these crooked ways. You deserve it!"
Seeing Felix so lively and looking much better than before, Jack felt a glimmer of hope. "What would it take for you to save us?"
Jack had to lower his stance. Allison looked at him and smirked. "If I said that to save you, your family must submit to me, would you agree?"
Allison's words shocked not only Jack but also Felix.
Felix widened his eyes and said, "Allison, are you crazy? They're just a bunch of lunatics!"
Allison didn't think it was a big deal and continued to look at Jack.
Jack asked, "Aren't you afraid of making a deal with the devil?" Allison shook her head with a smile. "I never believed that you can judge a person by their looks, Jack. Your appearance doesn't define who you really are. I believe you're someone worth being friends with!"
"Deal!" Jack looked at Allison, his eyes filled with gloom.
