The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles)

Chapter 793

"Charles, your uncle has practically turned my hospital upside down. Aren't you going to do something about it?" Sean asked. He was currently giving himself a break, which was unusual. It was because he did not want to be stuck at the hospital, being used as a target. Milo had been unable to see Janet for two days and caused several disturbances at the hospital. However, due to his status and reputation, his actions were somewhat restrained, so he achieved very little.

Sean found Milo's handling of the situation quite amusing. "What exactly is your uncle after? Technically, you're closer to him than Janet is."

Charles glanced at Sean. "You seem to have a lot of free time. What are you doing at my house during the holidays?"

Sean could not help but roll his eyes. "I've heard of people burning bridges, but you're the fastest at it. You wouldn't have gotten away with this if it weren't for me!" Sean scoffed lightly.

"By the way, how much of a dose did you give her? I calculated it, and it shouldn't have affected her yet. But here we are, with you pulling this stunt during the festive season."

In reality, ever since Janet's medication had been switched out, the drugs she had been taking under Clarisse's supervision were specially formulated by Sean.

These drugs were not meant to suppress her condition. In fact, they were designed to confuse her mind and make her lose her sense of reason.

"I'm risking my medical ethics with this, you know!" Sean remarked sarcastically.

Charles sneered, "From what I remember, you prescribed her vitamins." He set down the file he was working on and rubbed his temples, clearly annoyed.

"How much longer are you planning to stay here? You've already disrupted enough of my work."

"Look at you, acting all serious!" Sean teased as he casually picked up the documents beside Charles.

His eyes widened slightly when he read the contents. "You're planning to acquire Baker Group?"

Charles pressed his lips together. "I'm just considering it."

"Yeah, right!" Sean was not fooled. He knew Charles well enough to understand that once he set his mind to something, he would not back down easily. Besides, the plan was not something one would just casually look over.

Charles calmly closed the plan

folder and looked at Sean with an air of confidence. "If you have nothing

better to do, why don't you go back to the Smiths and learn a bit about the business from your brother?"

"Please spare me!" Sean raised his hands in Surrender. "I'm here because I'm tired of all the annoying people at home. I came to your place to have a meal and start the new year on a good note!"

As Sean spoke, he noticed Noelle coming down the stairs, dressed elegantly. The light gray coat she wore highlighted her figure even more. "Are you heading out today, Noelle?" en FindNovel

"Yes." Noelle smiled. "It's the third day of the new year, and things should still be lively outside. I've made plans with Rowena and Teresa."

She walked over to Charles and noticed the pile of documents next to him. "Still working during the festive season?"

"Come back early," Charles said softly, gently brushing his hand along the side of Noelle's face. "It'll be busy out there. Be careful."

"I will!" Noelle chuckled and then said, "Have a good chat with Mr. Smith. I'm off now!"

"Take care," Sean responded with a nod.

After Noelle left, Charles shifted his gaze back to Sean, his tone flat and indifferent. "You know, you're not welcome here."
